wrong. The ones who will HATE IT the most will be the die-hard fans. Just like with anything you change. A comic book story, or book, faithful fans will go up in arms if the depiction is not 100% true...

now, it is one thing to change SOME things for the sake of cinematograpy and time constraints and what not...but to deviate COMPLETELY from the original story to the point were the only common thing is the name of some characters...not even the settings or personality traits are the same, why bother caling it a dragon ball movie?

now, they named it "evolution"...I am assuming they tried to do what marvel did with their ultimate line, start new stories, same characters, different situations....yeah, not very well done still.

I was a fan of DB, I will watch the movie mostly out of curiosity (same as the Streeet fighter one - you know that one is gonna suck too), but I am already going with the mindset that this is NOT a DB movie, that way, I wont get so irate about it.

Here's a random thought about greetings. What's your answer to greetings?

Greetings

Just the other day somebody asked me "how are you", and as most times, I answered "surviving". Now, a lot of people assume automatically when I answer that, that I am merely being pessimistic, or sad or you know, they assume something negative. It is not meant to be so (even if sometimes that really is the case).

Really, what it is, is the only possible answer that is truly honest about your state of being. And I explained my friend when she questioned me about it, and I quote myself:

"Life keeps moving on no matter if you are doing good or bad, all I really CAN do in life is survive. It's not necessarily a pessimistic reply. Also, it wouldn't be me if I didn't think or answer differently than most people :P"

I actually think it is a bit conceited of us as humans to decisively answer good or bad when asked this question. For starters, it is never enough for us how things are going, there can always be more. Second, we don't know the ramifications, or the outcome of any and all events that happen on our lives everyday, we just don't know, and to answer good or bad is not the truth.

Now, to be polite, a lot of people automatically answer "fine". "ok", or "good", but if they really were to reply with the truth, most of the time the person who asked wouldn't really care. And this has been pointed out before by many people, but it's amusing.

Anyway, that is my random thought for today, check in soon for another part of my nonsense :)

mmm. well, maybe it's where you live, maybe it's just you.

I actually experience the opposite. In my experience, women are actually more perverted and lewd than men are sometimes...and I don't necessarily mean slutty, there is a difference.

Also, I know of more cases when the guy loses his virginity to a girls, while the girl is not the virgin one and is WAY more experienced than the guy. younger too. I also know of more girls cheating on their boyfriends than guys cheating on them, as per the cliche.

My point? that it will depend on who these people you know are. Maybe, just maybe, you THINK* they are prude, but in reality they are more perverted than you...I have found out that for the most part, the shy ones are the most kinky when it comes to sex stuff, they just don't let it out that often or at all..they dont like people to know for some reason.

Hey Newgrounds, how ya'll been?
I have been so busy with college, I barely have time to sneeze, but I took a bit of time out to write a rant...haven't posted one in a long time...(including updating the Memoirs of McD employee, but that's the way it goes)

so enjoy the rant, if you don't agree with it, oh well, it's a rant. No point to it, no punch line, just a rant, enjoy it.

Our society, and the evils of capitalism

Let's face it: we all like new things, better things. We worry about financial stability, social status, positions of power...We've heard it before: we are a materialistic society. Look, I'm not going talk spiritual here, but seriously, WHY can't we focus more on emotional well-being? Why can't we just cooperate with each other? Maybe I don't know, CARE for one another?

There might be several different reasons. Maybe it's bad timing. Maybe we are inherently evil by nature. Maybe God (if you believe in one) is a prankster, and created us for the sake of entertainment, like a big universal TV reality show for himself... Me? I blame capitalism as part of it all (not sole reason, but a contributor).

Yes, we all seem to love capitalism. It makes it possible to dream of improvement via a competitive market...in other words, it promotes greed....it promotes inequality...it promotes vanity, gloating, the desire to cheat, lie, steal and even kill sometimes. All for the promise of MORE.

Some argue if it wasn't for capitalism, we would not have the advances in technology we have today. Bullshit. How do you know? If we TRULY wanted the betterment of society, as individuals, we wouldn't need the monetary factor as a motivator, we would do it just because it is right and it would help people.

Now, I am not saying "let's be communists instead". I know it would not work...but only because we suck at being "other oriented" and selfless and truly caring about each other - and that is the only way communism could work, and why it hasn't worked so far - we just don't have the right mentality. What I AM saying, is that we need to at least realize this, and try, if anything just try, to be better.

I mean, I do not like capitalism for that reason, but I don't even have an option do I? Bet you if another country went communist, the US would automatically go and invade, I mean, "liberate" that country and impose, I mean, strongly suggest THEIR way of managing things... in fact, screw it, forget capitalism, let's talk society in general. If I disagree with whatever way society is working out, I can't do anything about it..why? well; first of all, capitalism makes it so the masses don't really have the economical power to really do anything about anything. Also, it doesn't matter what anybody says, an individual can NOT make a difference in society. They can make a difference to another individual, but not to society (inspire with example my ass - those who tried to tell us to live in peace with each other? John FK, Jesus, Martin Luther, Gandhi....BAM! killed).

Now, pretend I decide to leave society...live as a hermit or something to that extent. Do you think society would acknowledge that? Would it stop taxing me? If I don't own land, would it let me stay anywhere without paying anything? Would it delete any record I existed? No. You don't really have the option to not be part of this society, that, is not really fair, especially if they tell me I do not have the right to complain about it either.

At this point, somebody argued with me that well, is what the majority has agreed upon (when? 150 years ago when laws were made-not by us?), that is how it works and is what society needs....excuse me, but since when does the majority amount to anything but a bunch of idiots acting randomly? The larger a group gets, the more stupid their decisions and actions become, not to mention probably violent.

Just look at the media. Trying to please the large group of viewers, they have flat out stopped reporting the real important news, in favor of stupid shit. Our idea of worthy news now? Ellen Degeneres appearing in the cover of the Oprah magazine (as seen a couple days ago in yahoo news). Or how many babies Angelina Jolie adopted this month.

WTF? Seriously? This is what we consider important? And no, just because it's the majority does not mean it is right. Heck, just a bit over a hundred years ago the majority KNEW the Earth was flat...didn't make them right or smart.

We are so full of ourselves. We think we are so great and so advanced as a civilization. Why? Because we can make heavier-then-air flying machines? Because we can make little machines do everything from do simple calculations to more effective weapons for killing each other, or simply record ourselves doing stupid stuff (hello jackass)? Do you really want to know how primitive we really are? Consider this: our world economy is based on gold. Yeah, we still work off little shinny stones, and a hard one to get at that. We might as well go back to exchanging goats for crying out loud, we are still as primitive as cavemen...with semi0-automatic weapons and baseball caps.

Bottom line, we suck. I feel nothing for humanity (including myself) but disappointment, anger, disdain, and flat out disapproval. Sometimes it even makes me sick the stuff we do to each other and don't even think about it. But I am stuck here, I can't even leave (don't even say "kill yourself then", that's another stupid thing we do that I will rant about some other day), society won't let me.

"The only difference between lilies and a turd, is whatever differences we have all agreed upon, and I don't' always agree" - George Carlin

/rant...for now

But honestly, in a coutry where you can get a naked chick and other "innapropiate" things in a birthday cake, is it so much problem to writte a stupid name?

I would "try" to be professional. It depends on the attitude of the customer, if they are being dicks, I will politely tell them it's a choice and they don't HAVE to come to our restaurant. However, if enough demands are made, i would refer them to head office, and officially, if they threaten to take legal action of any sort, that is the protocol: refer to head office and let them deal with it.

the catch is that if they do not want to resolve it at the store level and indeed go higher, then it is no longer our problem, they HAVE to deal with head office and are not allowed to come back to our store until the issue is resolved, kinda like washing our hands off the subject

Even my friend says some of his fellow employees mess with some meals.

Is it random or is it just usual with bigger, more annoying orders?

I don't know about in the states. My store for example, is an open kitchen meaning customers get to see into the kitchen while their food is being made. I HAVE heard of this kind of thing happening .in the U.S, but not here so far.

As far s "bigger" orders? what's your definition? we barely ever get anything under 3-4 meals anymore. worst id the 40+ dollars worth of food for a single person everydya. Nobod knows how to order a normal amount of food anymore, and parents are more and more lazy by the day.

I mean, sometimes they will call because lets sa..a salad, they bought and the expiry time was for say 2pm, and it's 2:30pm. First of all, that's just "quality" standards, the salad is still fine, second, I dont think it will magically go fom "good" to "bad" exactly at 2pm becoming inedible exactly at that time while on a cooler, and third...they never fucking check the DATE, just the time. Most of the time the date says it expires NEXT DAY at that time, but I digress...

I get calls about this litle thing for example of mother whinning about how we are going to poison her child because he ate a salad that was half hour expired (when it wasn't) and l that usual "I am a mother that cares about my child" bit, but I can't help but wonder, if you really care about your child, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING GETTING FAST FOOD EVERYDAY FOR HIM? COOK SOMETHINGAT HOME EVERY NOW AND THEN!!!!

I mean, go to the freaking supermaret and get yourself some fresh lettuce and tomatoes and prep a salad if you want, dont come to us, where out lettuce is packaged in a plastic bag, ight be fresh, bt not as healthy and fresh as it would be for you to make it at home you dumb fucking bitch!

Peter Stefan Behnke.

I hate every aspect of my name.

With Peter I got so many lame jokes and teasing through the years. Stefan is okay, I guess, if only people could pronounce it properly; the stress is on the first syllable: STEF-ahn, not stef FON.

The same with my last name (BEHN kuh). They always pronounce the "e" at the end as itself (BEHN kee). And I just find it to be rather ugly.

I guess some people expect certain names to be difficult to pronounce. Mine is pronounced exactly as it's writen: Kibian (kee-bee-ann) yet for some odd reason everyone reading it had problems pronouncing it :S

I dunno what kind of jokes about Peter would be so bad, in my opinion, Peter is a decent name, but if you don't like it... in regards to Stefan? same as my name, what's so difficult to pronounce? people these days...

Cheer up, so long as you don't change your name legaly to a website like some people have done....(too lazy to look for link)

Not even the simpsons is funny anymore. At least Futurama still makes me chuckle.

I've said it before, Family guy was ok, but it was overrated, it's NOT the best show in decades like everybody keeps saying. Off the top of my head I can think of the old nick toons like rocco's modern life for example that were MUCH better than Family guy. In it's own right it CAN be funny, but they overdo the jokes (how many times are you going to put Peter with his knee hurting taking 5 minutes of content you were to lazy to come up with?) and overall it's declined.

I used to consider Family guy a competition for the Simpsons...then it degraded to a washed out wannabe, and American dad in turn a washed out version of Family guy with OBVIOUS similarities...even the fucking kitchen looked similar, both had a drunk "pet" be it a dog or an alien, other characters were just alterations of their counterparts as well.

Watch iot if you want, they all still have funny MOMENTS, but the shows themselves are shit overall, and still WAY overrated. Southpark is in the same boat, some funny episodes, some sick episodes, very few truly epic episodes.

How many times can a thread be bumped before you feel it's unacceptable?

Discuss.

I depends on the topic in question. For example, if it's your own topic, you may feel it did not get as much attention as it should have. On the other side, you can make a topic, and come back next day for example and read any replies left. The topic died a while ago but you never answered any replies. When you do, you bump but it wasn't for the attention.

On another example, it can be a recurring topic. Like the funny thread title pairs (be it the current one or any of it's previous incarnations), the UOTD topic, or in my case, my McDonalds topic. The bumping is to add content or provide an update.

If it is just a normal topic that died, you may be bored with whatever is on the front page. At this time you start searching for something better you might have missed in other pages, page 2 and beyond.

Then there's the +1 post kind of bump which is the one I think really bothers you. Or do all forms of bumping annoy you? if you dont like a topic or it's stupid and somebody keeps bumping it, i let it die, it's their 4 post an hour they are using, so who cares, good topics will still survive anyway. Of course, I admit there are some that get so frustrating you cant help but go in them and post "LET IT DIE ALREADY" and ironically keeping it alive yourself, but that is another issue :)

Because I was with my parents, I instinctively covered my eyes expecting them to have done the same...nope, they laughed at me and said nudity is a normal thing and never to be ashamed of it. I live by that.

I've watched other movies that contain nudity or "sexscenes" in them with my mother, and there is no real awkwardness because of the mindset I was raised. If the sex is there to be funny, we laugh, if it's meant to further a relationship and character development...we laugh at the cheesy, if it's there for the secks and just because...we get bored as they tend to be too long and we want to continue watching the movie. If I want nudity I watch a real porn :P

No seriously, and stay there for six months.

I'm liking your idea...except that I can't understand how you are going to keep your mp3 powered for a whole 6 months :P go middle ages!

If I am at a slightly elevated surface, down to level floor, yes. I used to be able to do them just standing up, but now I got heavier (read: fatter) and if I try it like that I can't finish it, I land on my back. If I am slightly elevated (like a small balcony or garden wall) then I have enough time during the fall to finish it.

It's not that hard really, but you gotta go for it all the way to the end, if you half-want to stop in the middle of it, be it fear or whatnot, then you will just injure yourself.

I admit, that I'm not quite proud, but I'm not ashamed of being in the top Ten. Mostly it humours me, because no-one seems to know me on the boards, I'm just a part of the decor.

That actually made me laugh because I have seen a couple users like that. They have a high post count yet somehow they are no known by a lot of people :S

I give too much of myself away on here, but then I always said to myself that I would be me, so really I see no point in lying or not letting people know who I am because I'm here so much, why not let people know who you are?

So how is that bad? I really dont understand why it is so hard for people to be themselves, or just say what they think/feel. If you do it, kudos to you.

:)
