ok im just learning asp so bear with me...

i know about variables and all that stuff. Well i was wondering how use a variable thats in the url. for example...

http://www.somename.com/somepage.asp?productid=34

well, see the variable at the end of the url (im guessing its a variable, it couldnt be much else) well how do you use that variable in the asp page... i tried:

<%
response.write("Product ID:" & productid)
%>

but it dont work..

I want the asp page to simply take the variable from the url (productid=3), and write it into the page.
But it doesnt work. what am i doing wrong? or am i just going about it the wrong way? I need answers!! i cant find tutorials on this.. PLLLEEESE HELP!

i was wondering whats the best song to learn to get used to soloing? i mean im pretty fast at picking, and doing riffs and all that shit, but i just dont know where to start with solo's, any good songs to start learning? im a metler, so none of this pop-punk crap plz ^_^

yeah legendary frog's pretty kool, but if your more artistic you should check out www.shockanime.com it will BLOW YOU AWAY with what they have done with flash. watch genryus blade for sure its the best ive EVER seen. 'nuf said. i got respect for legendaryfrog - he's a good artist, a good animator and he's funny. but best on newgrounds? you gotta rethink that one. there's hell loads more.. :)

Here we go.. Yeaup im flooding NG with crap again..

Ive been doing html for a few years now, but ive always wondered how sites have the same content on each page. for example, how NG has the same header on each page (the tank logo, the portal links, search box etc}. if Tom ever wanted to update the header, it would take him years to update each page. So im guessing he uses some kind of external file that has the script for the header in it.

What im wondering is how he does this, i know its possible to use external Jscript files. But im sure tom doesnt use it. what does he use?

if some one could help, it would help me out loads ^_^

oh yeah, koRn played the beggining of one at their concert in the UK last year.

I'm guessing most of you dont play guitar, if you did then you would appreciate their skill at soloing. Especially "one" now thats a solo and a half. Moving on, yeah there are some better bands out now. But many will never match up to how big metallica have become.

dude try learning actionscript. variables and shit, it would probably help you out loads.

I only just started learning actionscript, but i already knew javascript, html and other web-based programming. I've actually learnt it very quickly indeed, i know pretty much all the syntax now and how it works blah de blah de blah blah. i'm all right at it.. it might be best if you found someone else though..

I think i would be able to help you out once ive completely mastered actionscript, problem is, im a bit preoccupied wit my game im currently making.. ask again in about a months time.. i should be able to help, if your desperate for a programmer.

i've almost finished the programming and the main game-engine. Just need more enemy designs!! ive used a couple of you guys' ideas. and ive also got together a storyline which makes dharacter design a lot easier.

Nb: a short demo will be released pretty soon, (in about a week). it's looking good ^_^

im not sure what you mean, but if you mean play the song over two seperate scenes without stopping, i guess you would have to split the mp3, wav watever yur using, into two halves. and insert a half into each scene. then it would give the illusion that it has continued to play. but im not sure thats what your trying to do... audacity is a good lil piece of software for splitting.. get it from www.download.com - it's free ^_^
