a rough sketch of what I'm cooking up
my tenth ever digital painting
happy b-day to my improvement!
it has flaws. but my patience has ended. Im ungodly slow and lazy
no reference, heavy detail
just wanted it to look more metal-like, but anyways thanks for the critisism, will consider it when working on other stuff

But some of your original work is really good here. Keep it up!
I couldn't agree more but the truth is that although I have ideas of my own, its realy hard to embody them. When a good idea comes and I don't want to forget it quickly, I ussualy (as if painting) sketch it down, but when it comes to adding the composition, details, etc., that's when it gets a bit too tricky for me and I like to refer to other paintings. I know it sucks, but Im trying to do it as less as possible. Im still just practicing, theres lots to learn...
Anyway, something more from my sketchbook. Couldn't scan it cuz its a bit too big, so here's a crapy photo.

thats because I did this piece with the burn and dogde tools (painted with the brush set to color mode), so yeah it looks a bit crappy (wanted to try out a new technique).
something regular
no references
bigger image uploaded to art portal
my first dragon painting
photoshop and tablet, references used
something more serious, the bigger image is uploaded to the art portal.
photoshop and tablet

Long time, no post
Cooked up something fast before my topic got completely buried
~1,5h
Wanted to do it faster and more sketchy than detailed, but now I don't even know what the hell it is. Think I saw this guy in some movie or something, thats where I got the idea (it's NOT from Halo).
realy like your style, looking forward for more artwork from you

Appreciate the criticism. I usually spend more time on a painting, but this is only a sketch. Wanted to see what I can come up in an hour or such and know what others think about it.
And yeah, I will probably finish it up next week, so that it looks more polished :)

oh come on, you never heard about exaggeration? I only used the pose. The cracks and shading were made-up.
now for more art, this is a little something from my sketchbook. Expect more digital stuff from me this evening.
think I missed something, but what is the deadline?

Looks really good, Although for a study I would rather try to have some more drawings (of different poses) in three hours...
By references do you mean your own hands? Using your own body as reference is a great practice, and it really helps you get that pose exactly right (even posemaniacs is limited in its choices), but it can be a pain to keep your hand entirely still
Yes I am quite dissapointed that it took me 3 hours, and yes I took a foto of my hand and used it as a reference.
just love how the characters are simple and realy detailed at the same time!

Thanks! I've got the tablet for about 2 months now, so what you see here is just the beginning. I still got a lot to learn

Another thanks! And about the Magic Cards, yeah its a good practice but it were only those two illustrations. I've got more planed than just copying
Here's another one. It was done about a month ago then I dug it up and finished today.
Its another "copy" to test my eye and practice more with the tablet. Let me know what you think.
"Stigma Lasher" Original by Aleksi Briclot.
hope the flames aren't to exaggerated (although I wanted it to look a little different)

well Im cooking up something new right now, if Im lucky I will post it in a few days.
For now to show of same more, heres a traditional painting I did.
I call it simply "Millhouse"

I'd suggest doing more simplistic drawings, or just short animations. Animate a bird flying, animate a guy walking/running/,... stuff like that.
well I've already red and saw a number of tutorials about animation, even have a book about it. But when it comes to practice, I can honestly say I suck. Atleast Im taking this digital art thingy seriously and started to practice nearly every day.
Hi! I recently bought a tablet to get started with animation. Its harder and more time consuming than I thought it would be, so before I get a kick at it, I desided to do some digital paintings.
A few of these pieces weren't originaly my ideas, just my personal versions of other works. So if I break any rules by posting them here, let me know.
"Garruk Wildspeaker" Original by Aleksi Briclot.
My poor version
Taphephobia or Taphophobia - fear of being burried alive (that would suck SO MUCH)
Scelerophobia - fear of being harmed by wicked persons (I had a few incidents)
and a small fear of needles and heights :)
Set the GPS for the highway to Mexico and drive away ;)
Immortality. But not like eternal life, just immortalize the name and image.
