I felt bad for doing it, but I used a maximizer to bring the sound up to the volume that it is at right now. The only thing I was afraid of was tiny clicks due to clipping. I lowered the output until I did not hear the clipping or clicks, and believe I have it down. It is still a tad soft, but it is much better than when I started.
Thank you, to all, for your wonderful and generous help. I really do appreciate it greatly!
At 7/22/09 03:07 AM, gregaaron89 wrote: Oh and cut everything below 30 Hz, you don't need it and it will let you boost the volume more. If you look at most pro trance/techno mixes the sub end is at about 50 Hz or a little higher and right below that there's a steep dropoff. (but your sub end is lower so 30 works here) It cleans up the mix a lot if you were to ever play it with a subwoofer
Hmm. I will cut the lower end (did not notice it was there, haha. My subwoofer is more like a sub whisperer) and up the bass (again, lacking the massive sub sound capabilities). But about the volume: Cubase is telling me that it's clipping. Which I do not know how that is possible, since I checked, and my speakers can barely play it. After a WHOLE lot of EQing and mastering, I finally got it up to what you hear, but it is still telling me it's clipping.
So I went and plugged it into another program (Roxio Sound Editor) and found that the waveforms were almost maxed out (and higher and there WOULD be clipping). So I honestly have no idea what the problem is.
After fiddling around with EQs and Limiters, I still am able to only get it a smidgen louder.

Any chance that you know what I am doing wrong, or not doing?
Quick question: Would you suggest that I master my tracks individually, or the whole project as one? Or both?
None on the whole track. Just a few StereoEnhancers on individual tracks and an EQ - Bypass and a HALionOne - DCF Amount on a single bass track.
Almost every song I submit has pretty low volume. I find that not too many others have this problem. I am currently using Cubase 4, and exporting after reducing clipping seems to terribly lower the audio's volume. The quality is great, if I turn up my speakers pretty far.
I was just wondering how I can increase volume and either maintain or improve the audio file's quality. So far doing both seems to be difficult.
P.S. I am also using Roxio Sound Editor to do some finishing touches, and it can only provide just a smidgen more of volume.

Also, would mktime(24) set it for 24:00 hours? or do i need to add every one of the values.....can I just leave out month and minute and second? or do I need those?

And i'll definately join the contest (halloween)....Can i submit a game? Or is it just movies?
TOM...please, for the sake of my account, check your pm's

We can still submit a game right? I mean, if I make a game, it won't be "not judged" will it?

Cookies for thing that the browser should remember, like auto login and the lasttime you cleared the forum.
Sessions for tenporary stuff that only matters for the moment, the fact that you currently are logged in, tine since login and so on.
Tanky for your response ^_^
Getting a cookie to expire at midnight is easy, just ask the browser to expire th cookieat midnight. It is basic posix timestamp math.
Yes, but I don't know how to do that. I know what to do, I just don't know how to write it.... :/
I want to know a couple of things...
First, which do you think is better for storing information on users? A Cookie, or a Session?
Second, How do you get a cookie to expire at midnight?
Yea, that's all I can think of right now, if I have any others I'll let you know

1. You might have logged into another computer friends/public and left your detaills saved, cookies..
2. You might have opened a key logger/trojan
3. Someone guessed it or has access to your email
these are all things that you could've prevented, so stop crying.
Actually, i'm not crying, I'm laughing right now. Some guy named "Whooter" AIMed me and now i'm annoying the crap out of him. I think he did it, but blah.
And you're right. I'm sorry Error. It was at my fault that the password was given out. I did declare a database connection and accidently on accident forgot to change the password to stars.
Please forgive my noobish behavior of spazzing out. Sorry :/

Gosh...I bet that is because I gave away information huh...
But, really, I was going to go back and change it, but my Mom called me for something.
And Since i'm a very forgetful person, I forgot to change it.
Then stupid me, going in, said "don't hack >.<" referring to the database....
*sigh* All i need is those submission stats...that's all that really matters....

Ug, all i care about is my submissions.....

You have to be more careful...
Can't Wade check IPs that logged into your account against users who post on the BBS?
He would probably find a match...
I would hope so, but the only, one and only, actually 2, things I care about are:
1. Getting my submissions back
2. Getting that user's either (a) Account deleted or (b) Ip Banned from the site.
But mostly getting my submissions back...
Ok, wtf?
Someone who has come into this forum, and read "move_uploaded_file not working :/"
obviously has some issues.
I accentdently posted the account information to my database, and it just so happened that it was my account's Momo-the-Monkey's password.

I didn't say it once. Not a single time did I even mention a number that was in it. The only time I mentioned the letters, is when i type words. Because all of the words I have typed has at least one letter of my password (comon sense)

And no, my password had 6 letters, and 2 numbers. All were random.
There is no way (unless someone was a super genious mastermind and stalked me....Like crap) that someone could have hacked it....
My account Momo-the-Monkey has been hacked, and all of it's stuff deleted, and it's password changed.
For the love of God, why would someone do this?
WHY?!?!? WHY!?!?!?:!
I am currently under a lot of pain because of this. I had 5 submissions and they are all gone. Deleted. Poof. WHAT THE HECK?
My fav's (author and portal submissions) have all been deleted. My sig has been deleted. My user information has been drastically altered. My profile message has been changed.
I email/pmed tom, but WTF?
