COMPLETED ON VETERAN

this game had the best ending ever, even rivaling half life 2...
gameplay so awesomely weaved into story-telling cod take notes.

So anyway I thought the campaign would be longer but Bungie really outdid themselves
best game of 2010

favorate CSS weapon setup? Posted January 1st, 2011 in Video Games

For me the first pistol round = Deagle/ or on hostage rescue maps i get the USP and silence it

especially on assult

If I rake in the money i always go for the M4 or the AUG or SG552 with multiple flashbangs (not smokes GOD no I'd lag too bad)
If I die on the pistol round I almost always end up buying the TMP or the P90 for those scrimmages where I need fire power and usually stick close with my team.

or let them get eliminated or win

Yeah, especially since CoD has more features than CS.

Doesn't matter cs is still more competitve

I never found Cod's multiplayer enjoyable, or even engaging.
It just seemed like a dumbed down counter strike IMO

Battlefield added massive maps and vehicles in a very realistic fashion

Vehicles and massive maps have been a longstanding trait in fps multiplayer since tribes and halo CE
Plus modifying it to be realistic isn't really that innovative as much as additive.

and Gears of War caused a huge uprising in cover based shooters.

This I do agree with
but THERE ARE TOO MANY NOW
Every new fps game needs to have cover based shooting now and its getting worn out.

You seem to e blind to the fact that if any of these innovative games became mainstream series they would get the same press you are giving previously innovative games now.

What I'm saying is we need to KEEP INNOVATING
We can't simply ducktape the same 2-3 formulas to everysingle game that comes out.
games don't evolve that way, they just get repetitive.

Innovation is like teh Wii motion control or Online play or DLC (oh i hate you so)

maybe if you read further, instead of speed posting

Innovation is not "Casual" Posted December 30th, 2010 in Video Games

It seems that I've been spending half my last 2 years of mainstream gaming hiding behind mounds of grey-scale rubble waiting for red cough syrup to wash off my face and the other half playing hackened narritively linear rpg/"adventure" games then I have been eating.
It was only yesterday, that I managed to break free of the shackles and take a look at a volume of gaming where intresting things are happening. Games that you can shoot birds at obsticles, games that you can draw objets to get you around your world, games that you can practically paint, build, rocket your way through the levels on your own accord. Groundbreaking vessles that are stuck sitting in the casual lobby of wii and portible consoles just trying to get admission tickets onto the mainstream express, are tossed away for the same tired formula's that sell to NJROTC James Bond enthusiests.

It seems that we have allianed innovation and creativity with casual and kiddish, something I don't like to think that's happened but no matter how much I imagine the situation different I can't shake the truth. And fps games are getting the glut of the new world order.

Serously, I can count the number of intresting mainstream shooter/first person games that have came out since 2007 on one hand, (ex: mirror's edge, fallout, bioshock, left 4 dead, portal, possibly reach) can't count the number of uninspired failed Call of Duty/Gears of War/ and yes, Fallout abortions on all my fingers and toes combined, (right off the top of my head Army of two, Mag, Bulletstorm, Singularity, Killzone, Kane and Lynch, Ghost recon, bad company 2/ medal of honor, serously Dice). I won't beat a dead horse on this one.

The 2 most mainstream adventure games are completely overrated and generic.
Uncharted 2 bieng a catacomb of weak cutscene driven farce that I wasted my money on and assassin's creed 2 being more toothless and unchallenging than a cavity addled whale.
Although Infamous really broke the ice, we really don't have enough of those kind of games in mainstream media circles. Games that break the ice seem to only be found in a casual light.

Serously I've been more impressed with Epic Mickey and varous Iphone games than any of the HD multiplayer driven simplistic, conformist vessles that have came out last year. It's kind of sad because since these casual games aren't neccessarily mainstream or popular not a lot of effort is pumped into creating them. There just time-waisters, never to see thier true potential.

Heck, they're even branching out in the gaming universe as thier own casualistic subcategory while the "hard-core" or at least percieved hardcore games continue to get more and more generic every release. Jesus how many times can we trudge the same land before it gives way? I'm litterally hoping for an avalanche or a land slide so gaming is FORCED to take new paths. Maybe we'll see developeres creative juices pumping agian when the next dimention jump occurs.

Until then...
