I still get the same error if I add it to blank layer right after the frame with teh movieclip...Lemme check the guts of the movieclip...
Yeah I know It's a N00b question but I just finished my new cartoon and I added the ()stop; command at the end of it so I can finally finish and.... I got teh dreaded
"**Error** Scene=Scene 1, layer=Layer 5, frame=2507:Line 1: Statement must appear within on/onClipEvent handler
stop();"
I've looked around and I have gathered that I should stick that "stop();" command int into the "main timeline. Err...My cartoon is pretty huge now (biggest and most complicated one of my toonz yet) and I have no idea where the hell the "main timeline" should be.
Any ideas?
I wanna get this resolved please help. @_@

WTH? Spazzy? Okay. I guess you guys are looking for more stereotypical stuff... Old fashioned stuff and junk. Okay well you guys have phun then - I'll get back to work on my own stuph. Toodles. (thx for compliment btw ^^)

I've got a snippet of something I just have to upload it to my DA account first.
Okay here's my preview. It doesn't have sound...Didn't feel like adding any. Just a snippet of something I've been working on. I don't care if you guys think it sux so there! :P

K! :D

Here's the main character from my latest cartoon. I had fun drawing her.
okay I figured it out. Its called a Movieclip not a sprite. :D And I finally got it to work. Thanx everyone for helping me out. Here's the link that finally made it all clear.

Alright! Thanks for the lead!! I'll check it out right away! ^_^
maybe I have to stick it into a scene? I dunno...Just guessing now.
I'm not if this is exactly what you want, but try making the symbol in question a graphic instead of a movie clip. You cannot view the keyframes of a movie clip when placed on the Timeline, however, with a graphic, you can.
Make sure you've actually added keyframes into the symbol, that is. ;)
Okay tried that...It didn't work. :(
Ugh, is there anything in the movieclip? Like, do you want it to act as a button? Or you want it to move? If you want it to move, you need to add frames.
There is. There is a small ten frame tween animation inside it. I just want it to sit there and cycle.

Pretty much select what you want to make into a movieclip(that's what it's called not a sprite) and push F8, make a name, and click movie clip and there you go.
That's exactly what's I'm looking for. But when I call up the movie object someplace else...It just sits there and acts like a static image. No play button on the preview window in the library. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. :(

Okay I've looked everywhere.. Nothing. I need to know who someone can turn a simple tween animation into a "sprite". You know it appears in one's library with the little play button on its preview window so that whenever one plops it down all it does is repeat a little animation within a cartoon. I've got my hands on one such object but I do not see how it differs from a regular movie object. The only thing is that it can act independently whenever it is set down on. I've tried making small animations and pressing f8 and making them movie objects but I see no way I can turn that into an independent "sprite" but it just remains a static movie object. Finding out would same me lots and lots of time with my cartoons.
Any ideas? I'm stumped. This is for a movie and not for a game. I'm using flash 8.
Here's a picture of Mizz Kippi. She's one of the anarchist pirates for a cartoon I've been working on
Thanx all ...I'll try all these suggestions out. Thx bunch. :P
Hello I just worked on my second flash -ever. In this one I introduced sound. I have a problem where my flash animation slightly lags with my music - oh yes it also repeats. I would like to take care of the lagging problem.. I tried using a wave instead of an mp3 but that didn't work and then I tried less compression but that didn't work either. I've looked in the flash tutorial section and didn't find anything that could help me I'm stumped. :( Any Ideas?
