Lol?
What possible purpose did posting the topic starter's signup date serve? It's all but a meaningless number.

I'm guessing he's talking about the tendency of the people on this forum in general to jump down each other's throats with the slightest of provocations.

Not consistent widths, no, but the spacing would be even, and it would prevent text from running out of the 'boxes'.
If you're just trying to space the links out, you can do it with left and right padding. I don't think inline elements are allowed to have widths.

What about an appositive? Eg. "Kurt Vonnegut, the famous author, writes satirical novels."
Sorry...
Jessii, I hate your sig right now...

For people with bad eyes, increasing the size can help a lot, and if you want your site as accessible as possible, text needs to be able to get bigger without breaking it.

He said a 12 digit number, not integer. I guess it was implied by the fact that he tried using ints, but meh.
Anywho, I've heard of floating points being 'inaccurate' before, but I don't quite understand why. Care to enlighten me?
I believe double should do it.

I think third-person would make it sound more professional, but it sounds good so far either way.

Interestingly enough, that's exactly how far I've memorized it. I don't really feel the need to go any further than that though.

I also have no real experience with Macs, so I'm not sure how significant each release was... But from glacing at the dates, it seems like the releases are frequently only a couple of months apart.
The significant updates are (since OS X at least) the ones like 10.3 and 10.4, anything like 10.4.11 is a minor update that is free for any user of the current version. All of the major OS X updates on that list are over a year apart.
At 11/14/07 03:20 PM, CronoMan wrote: Mac is cheap because it is bundled with Apple hardware.
I disagree with a lot of what was said here, but I'm going to focus on this one. If "Mac" (by which I assume you mean OS X) is only cheap because it comes with the hardware, how come it was only $129 when I bought the new version separate from my MacBook? And yes, this is the full version, not an "Upgrade Edition". The least expensive full version of Vista is $199, not to mention the $399 Ultimate version. And while we're talking about versions, there is only one version of Leopard, no reduced versions.
Just a note: I don't have problems with Windows users in general, but this is getting ridiculous; I like my OS, you like yours, and that's fine, but don't bash any of them with false information.
As a second note, pertaining to false information, the prices for Vista I listed may be out of date, as I couldn't find the full version on Microsoft's website.
Back on topic, I won't be getting a new Mac, but I'll probably get both Leopard and iLife '08 for my MacBook fairly soon after the 26th.

Your PC has better than 3.0GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon processors, 16GB RAM, four 750GB 7200-rpm Serial ATA HDDs in RAID, a NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 512MB Stereo 3D graphics card, and a 30" HD display?
Granted, that will run you $14,739

No, C++ cannot be used in making Flashes. I think you should read up a bit on what C++ actually is (Wikipedia article). Basically, it is what most of the programs you use on your computer are written in.
I believe that the Express version of Microsoft Visual C++ is also free.
$str = "It\'ll boost my ego"
echo stripslashes($str);
// outputs "It'll boost my ego"

I tend to just BS an answer that sounds good, even if it doesn't mean a damn thing.

I'm going to second TextWrangler. It only has code view, but it's what I use, and it works extremely well.

Agreed.
"Talk" in particular is an excellent song.
For my pseudo_html_replace class, I use preg_replace('/\[url=(.*)\](.*)\[\/url\]
/', '<a href="$1">$2</a>', $text);
Change $text into the variable containing the passage to be replaced.
At 9/13/07 12:56 PM, smulse wrote: I've decided to get an iPod touch, shall I get the 16GB or 8GB version?
The 16 if you actually want some videos on it. iTunes videos (at 640x320) run about 700mb per hour. That means you'd only have about 11 hours of video on an 8 gig if you had no music at all.

I think I need to know what brilliant cartoonist wrote that strip. That's just awesome.
It's actually redirect.php?name=gamename.
You could then do something like:
$game_variable = $_GET['name'];
$game_url = "http://www.blablabla.com/games/".$game_
variable;
header ('Location: '.$game_url);
(note: this is typed in browser, so might need some modifications)
You could also check out mod_rewrite.
