How long will it take?
(Approximate how long this project will take to complete)
by that do you mean the audio part or the project as a whole which really depends on how long the animater or programer takes to do there thing, and if you mean the audio that depends on how fast the acter or actress read there lines.
it should say : project runtime?( estimated length of completed project)
this is much more useful information to a voice acter as they will be able to figure out if they even have the time to work on said project instead of a different one.
lets face it as this is new grounds you are gonna get asked to do voices for situations and characters across the spectrum. some of these situations or characters are gonna be things you might have a problum with for varios reasons and will turn down which you have every right to do. to minimize the job offers containing these things it is a good idea to write down what you are not willing to do and post it so people dont waste your time and theres.
if you have any any roles you are not comfortable with that you wish to post here please:
1.try not to be vague so there are no misunderstandings on what you mean.
2. please note weather or not these roles are an absolute no or if you simply require more payment for them then normal.
3. if you have any problums with doing "adult" rated roles please note weather it is explicate material in general or a particular fetish that you do not wish to do.
4.you do not have to list your reason for not wanting to do these roles it is your choice.
for all those reading others responses do not criticize them on roles they are not comfortable with or attempt to convince them otherwise. there reasons are there own and should be respected regardless of weather or not you agree.
i was wandering if anyone knew of a good replacement program for adobe flash cs6 im too poor to buy it. id only need it to do backgrounds, layering, sound, tweening and preferably able to do something similair to that cymbles thing or use mini animations i have in anouther program for somthings so i dont have to do it frame by frame. also free plz.

Its like watching someone perform gymnastics for 30 minutes, and for the first 5 minutes they do something mildly skillful...then for 20 minutes they're clumsily flailing around like an idiot, only to end with 5 minutes of incredible athleticism.
They seem to make it a point to clue you in on how its going to end right in the beginning every single time...like its a concentrated effort to make the episode come full circle by the end, and that comes at the risk of having the entire episode seem mindlessly repetitive.
Its like there was one skillful writer attached to the team, and a less skilled, schlocky writer came in to pad it out and throw in ridiculous bullshit just to get his name on the credits... which is why characters will be established to act a certain way and have certain quips, and all of that will be discarded for no reason sometimes. Or the fact that everyone in this world uniformally refers to killing somebody that turned into a Z "Giving them mercy."
....Just say kill them. Just say, "You'll have to shoot them." How is literally everyone they come across all agree to refer to this as "giving them mercy."
Red-haired Punkvest McGee with the Mace-Bat's character arc was boring and uninteresting...then it got respectable for one episode when she had some one-on-one time with Headshot McHandsome in that warehouse. Woah! Character development! Then what happens? Next episode she goes fuckin' cartoon crazy dancing and singing while killing Z's and its like...wait what? Now she's gone...and apparently so is he.
Like I said...there's inconsistent writing and structure quality. Sometimes its pretty good! Sometimes it can actually be tense and interesting, sometimes its even funny. Then sometimes its hokey, shitty, and contrived...
...but it put my ass in the seat. I want to see what happens with Patient Zero.
i agree whole heartedly sometimes it is awsome and othertimes i can do better then them but i think thats why they added in that repetitve structure to the episodes. when they do the full circle thing most peoples minds will focas on the repetitiveness and miss all the bull crap in the middle. that way they can get away with alot more.
now that you bring it up perhaps the shows storys were sopposed to be made in shorts but they then just had a ton of filler added in ruining them.
im actually happy bat girl and vest guy are gone like you said boring also bat girl is such a mary sue shes like. plus this leaves the opening of her returning as a villen which if done right would make her the first interesting villen in the show.
i like patiant zeros character to personally i hope they start focasing on him a little more since hes the only one who is interesting plus the rest of them are kinda desposable in the context of the show.

well i dont mind hearing what people hate about these types of shows so what do you hate most about it
i have been resurving my judgement on it for a while now but now i think ive seen enough episodes to give my 2 cents.
although i do find some of it enjoyable i also find it a bit derivitive taking ques from omegaman (murphys cure) and the tv version of the walking dead. the primary problum i see is that the zombies arent actually that big a threat forcing the writers to shoe horn in chiche villens they feel are more dangerios to up the anti. to date they have used 3 cults all being massive cliches for post Apocalypse )one cannibal cult a zombie worshiping cult and a man hater cult) i feel this is a shame as zombies can be made more dangerous through many means my favorite being mutation.
anouther problum i see is addy she is easily one of if not the worst character on the show although i think this might have been intentional so that we wouldent miss her when she left. which kinda cemented her as a self centered gullable bitch given she joined a murderous cult and got her boy friend killed.
overall this show is pretty good although it had a rough start and it needs the zombies to be tougher opponants. but overall not horrable.
personally id like to see a story where that chick from the man hater cult murphy knocked up (how she knew she was pregnant after 1 day is a mystery) joining the team fearing what would happen to her unborn child if it was a boy. with abby being sent to retrieve/kill her and thus forcing them to kill the bitch

Oh no your thinking of the origanal shantai, pirates curse is one of the sequels and has sprite work on par with metal slug its for download in the 3ds shop. i played the the black and white version of cave story on my wii before they updated the graphics so i cant say i know first hand how good they are but i have seen the screen shots and i am impressed. in fact alot of the indie games on the 3ds shop have awsome sprite work.
anouther one that has good pixels is grinsia its a top view type. an interesting one that also has interesting pixels is 1001 spikes its an 8 bit done in modern times but its not the nostalgic type of 8 bit it is done amazingly well and makes 8 bit look an actually desirable design aspect for the modern gamer.

alot of games here use pixel sprites others use sprites that seem to be hand drawn so which is better. i personally prefer pixel sprites but thats just me but i have seen hand drawn work very well and not just in point and click choose your own adventure interactive story games either.

The episode I always point out to for why I hate Clara is the moon one.
i agree thats the one that got me to. my reason is she just arbitrarily decides what humanity needs to survive without even really thinking it through. "oh the moon controls the tides we dont need that" i think japan, hawaii and about a billion other island countrys, seaside citys and every marine animal would disagree on that. since shes a teacher she should know that the tides are important to marine life and any city or country with fishing as its main source of food or money would starve plus the large amounts of marine life going extinct. in fact the tidal effects alone from the loss of the moon would have a human death toll in the hundreds of millions.

agreed but that episode with the moon being an egg that one is also a face palmy episode i mean SHE was given the ability of choosing the future of all humanity to which the docter was agenst for all of his previos companions. as well she released an emense space squid to which they stated was a xeno parisite aka feeds on planets so thats a thing. at least we probubly wont have to deal with clara next season given the way this season ended.
At 11/9/14 06:23 AM, Amaranthus wrote: More like Doctor Who sucks, amirite?
no docter who is a very well done show its one of the few shows that actually still cares about its story line in both seasonal context and episode to episode alot of others today especially live action ones start getting very confusing or boring after just a short time. i think that trend is from lost being so populair years ago.
At 11/9/14 06:12 AM, ManDeep wrote: On topic, i've googled Clara from Doctor who and i have no idea what your problem is with her, she a QT3.14
mandeep you have to actually watch the show to get it mind you clara started off not half bad but still you cant get a feel for how good or bad a character is via things like google or wiki its best to watch the show and make that determination yourself.
my biggest gripes about her are when you watch clara you see she is a really boring know it all. the docter on several occasions tells her to listen to him or she is basically fired but she winds up being right ALOT and usually about things the docter should be more experienced about.
the other thing i hate about her is the doctor seams to just obay her half the time and baically acting like her love slave or something in the season finally he was hitting the controls of the tardis so hard that it was causing the controls to explode just cause she wasent traviling with him.
but again watch her episodes and see if you like her or not i dont claim to control wether you think a character is good or not im just stating my opinion
uhg clara the docters most recent companion what can i say i hate her . she is such a know it all plus for some reason she seams to illogically be the answer to so many important problums . she even managed to beat both amy and more impresivly (and annoyingly) rose tyler for mary sueness as she beat roses absorb the power of the time stream and become a temporary god trick. how by single handedly saving EVERY VERSION OF THE DOCTER IN THE HISTORY OF FOREVER seriosly i am really hoping she gets wasted next season .

well that why i think they should make such a function it would be awsome
i was thinking what if ng had an area with a game dev program operating online. no download needed just a membership. with a thing to upload stuff you need from your hard drive onto it and something to automatically add that advertizing pack thing in if desired it could be really useful especially to those with crappy computers.
plus this would make newgrounds more of a place to go to for aspiring game makers to not only post but to make the games as well and if a custom script thing is added a great place to start learning how to program to.
At 10/28/14 11:26 AM, NeonSpider wrote: Have you ever used DOS before? It's not like Windows where you just click everything. DOSBox is amazing and you'll not find a better DOS emulator. So you better figure out what need to do.
Also if you'd used an actual DOS machine with DOS games back in the day, you'd know too that typically each individual game may need special customizing of certain files as well, prior to even running the game. And even then you'd need to get certain configuration things right such as what sound card to use and so forth. None of that changes when using DOSBox although you probably want to select SoundBlaster if given that option and using DOSBox.
Other than that, yeah you'll need to put the directory somewhere you can access it from within DOSBox and you'll use a mount command to "link up" an existing directory on your computer to a virtual drive within DOSBox, from which you'll then access the game.
Let's say you have MYGAME.EXE and it's in C:\Games\MYGAME.EXE on your computer. So boot up DOSBox and then
mount c c:\games
c:
mygame.exe
of course assuming there's no config stuff you need to set up first which there probably is, so go mess with those config files.
Also DOSBox unfortunately does not include a text editor so you'll need to use for example Notepad to do that.
It's really not any harder than using actual DOS so if you can't get it running under DOSBox there's a very good chance you wouldn't be able to on an actual DOS machine either.
i have not used dos before but i did use the drag and drop method to upload it into dosbox. but i can make sense of the how to put the settings plus most of the things maked upload or setup dont work. it was preset to sound blaster by the way and it does give the option to do something with a blank floppy disk i dident fully understand.
... also why would i need a text editor for it its point and click game.
i have been trying to play some old dos games i downloaded i got dosbox to play em but i cant work dosbox for shit. the program itself is fine i just dont know how to set up the games so it can play em. acording to its wiki im sopposed to put the games in a containing directory then use a merge comand in dosbox to have it mount the directory. then switch it from z\: to an c\: then i am to use a cd(change directory ) command to run the specific game i want to play.
i actually managed most of that exept that part with making a proper containing directory out of the game zip i got from emuparadise.me. so if anyone knows how to do that or knows a less pain in the ass dos emulator please help me
