Well I'm only it 9th grade but I feel that I'm not going to make it to college with my current attitude about school, taking out massive loans just to pay tuition, is it even worth it? My school always have these assembly's with speakers that have become "successful" through college, they pretty much bash it in our head that if we don't go to college, we're going to fail at live. I completely disagree with that shit, but at the same time I'm kind of scared that I'm going to end up poor and on the street if I don't go to college.
Well I'm trying to create a trademark for my company, but I can't think of a logo. I need and an Idea, The company specializes in software and hardware creation, but the logo can be completely arbitrary.

I'd say that it would be worth your time to learn some CSS3 animation techniques. Here's some inspiration :)

Alright I need some feedback, I've been working on a TiledMap Editor here. If you had to rate on a scale from 1-10 on how awesome it is, what would you rate it. And could you explain why you rated the way you did??
Map Editor
Here is an update, the collision section hasn't been changed though.

You don't want to have to manually set a thousand blocks to be solid just for that one optional solid-looking aesthetic block. The thinking behind me making every tile optionally solid is what if you wanted secret areas and that area looked solid but it wasn't. The in game map editor sounds pretty cool and is something I might implement, but for now I'm just going to work on the current one.
well when you put it that way, it can be very time consuming to punch in whether a block is solid or not. The only problem with your idea is that the Map Editor just loads a Tileset of images and it doesn't know which blocks to initially set to solid because the maker of the tileset could arrange the tiles anyway they wish.

The core stuff is there, so you just need to set it up to how you (or your intended audience) is likely to use it. Personally, I would create groups of blocks which already have states set. For instance, if you were making a typically platformer, all of your grass and stone blocks are going to be collidable ground blocks, so you shouldn't need to waste time setting their state like you have to do individually in the video. The most important thing to do is probably to allow instant play. Integrate the editor into your game so that you can press a button and immediately try playing instead of having to export and load it. If you were making an editor to be used by an external designer, that would definitely pay off because it would greatly increase the designer's efficiency. Then they could just export the ones they're happy with and send them to whoever needs them.

Hey, what should a good map editor contain, so I just created this map editor in Java, I want people to check it out and critique.

Every single form of gravity altered or parkour typed game out there has probably been made, so unless you have something stupendous to break the mold, come up with something else.
Secondly, don't show us your progress. That's like the people that brag and brag about writing a novel or doing something really artsy fartsy. If you quit because of whatever reason, it just makes you a target for ridicule and a volley of questions on why you couldn't complete something.
Your sound recording equipment sounded really good. Your pitch and volume of voice were really good. You might want to consider doing some sort of voice acting. If you do a platformer, consider a storyline and some really good audio to go with it.
In any case, good luck.
I think every game has its uniqueness regardless of the style, I'm making the game a platformer because it best suit the type game play I'm trying to achieve. If not a platformer because there so common, what style would you suggest to have the most originality?
I recently started a Game Development Vlog, I want to get as much feedback as humanly possible, So if you have any ideas or tips for my Game, I'd really like to here them :3
I want to create a 2D platformer, It's going to be really big project of mine and an exiting one but, I just don't feel like it. I mean, just thinking about the amount of time that I'll spend on it just gets me less interested. I thought maybe someone here could give me some sort of inspiration or something to stop me from being lazy.
I want to learn to draw professionally, but all my art is mediocre. The only times I appreciate my own work is when I'm copying Anime from Google, I want to draw from my imagination. Where's the best place to get resources to help me learn the fundamentals.
I keep my environment mildly clean.
