Oooh! Sounds cool!!! ...but do they *have* to be animated? or can it just be the person standing there in a costume? 'cuz I'm sure you could get some of the art forum regulars to join in.
I was wondering what happened to you! ...nice to see you back!! :D

For starters, you should probably read the rules of the bbs so you don't get yourself banned ;)
As far as learning how to animate... it takes a LOT of time and practice. You could try checking the wiki for some helpful info and links.
You can also upload stuff to your dump and post the link here so people can give you pointers and suggestions based on where you're at.
Otherwise... just keep watching tutorials (there are a ton out there) ...and practice, practice practice!
Good luck :D
PM's from bots, staff and mods go through no matter what... a pm has been sent on your behalf.

If it's all frozen, how can it rot?! Freezer burn, maybe, but... not rot.
Had to laugh at the dude speculating that they dismantled the ark to build houses/shelter.... um, why would they do that? Why not just... you know, live in the ark that's already built?! derp!

The Jetpack engine uses Simple Gravity engine with limited "fuel"(The Bar) After it runs out, gravity takes full effect and pulls the ball Down.
the bar is visible as it slides... I thought it was supposed to be a paddle. Even when the bar was half full, the jet pack dropped.
Cannon Engine use Trig to get the archs in which it shoots(Aim and Shoot with Arrows/Space) Further to right Power is more force it shoots with.
I thought I was supposed to angle the 'cannon' so the ball would drop on the moving triangle... which is what it did.
Enemy Spawning engine. Part 1/3 in my Enemy AI thing for a game I am working on with ZoVies. This uses a Random code, If statements, and AttachMovieclip. Spawn is Random(30) and if it is equal to 10, then it will attach the movieclip of SADs from the Library.
Out of context, that doesn't really show anything.
Sorry if you don't like them. Only engines I have.
Has nothing to do with me liking them... it's about showing people that you're actually a capable programmer so they'll team up with you.
Anyway... good luck, hope you find someone soon... it's almost October!! :O

Just a heads up. Things are done differently now. Since there is no longer a "Talk" and "Art" thread ...your contest entry MUST be in the Art Portal to be included in the judging. Which means you MUST be scouted.
You need at least 4 pieces to be eligible. For more info on how it all works, check these out:
Ornery's Handy Dandy Scouting Guide
Help/FAQ on submitting art
Also, make sure your search tag is EXACTLY!!!! like this: calendar2012
If you click that and don't see your thumbnail, then neither will the judges!!!
k, good luck everyone :)

The truth hurts! I know because I've been in agony for a while now... but I'm confident that we'll both GET OVER IT!!!
I think your chances of finding someone to team up with were better BEFORE you posted samples! lawl!!! ;P
...but seriousl, what was all of that? Maybe you should include some explanations on what each thing was made for and what they do. 'cuz right now... I just see some simple key movement and tweens. Where/what's programmed?
Apparently Google+ is where it's at now. Tried the Hangout thing with Wade and some other NG'ers. Was a good time!!
I *hope* this "add me" link works! ...if not, search for:

YES... the blur IS amazing. In fact. you should blurr it MORE... 'cuz nothing says "I'm confident and sure in my abilities" like destroying your work with filters.
that was sarcasm... the blurring sucks. Stop doing it ;P

Just noticed that!! Congrats! :D
Same on the fp news posting upgrade too (I remember wondering why you couldn't do that a while ago!!)
Always enjoyable reading these, so ...keep up the good work! :D
poxpower... he needs to laugh a little. But he's probably not even ticklish. No, he'd probably just stand there staring at me with a blank expression on his face... unchanged, unaffected. Then I'd feel stupid :(
You should all go show him some love on his user page... he fell down and went boom! Got lottsa owies!
or make him a get well soon card thread!
...so, let's recap:
- you're average at programming
- you're less than average at drawing
- you don't make music
- you suck at animating
- you can write
That doesn't really make you sound like a very confident or capable collaborator.
Why don't you check out some of the already running collabs and request threads and find a way to help out with one or two of those. Start with something small and gradually build up to bigger projects. Gotta walk before you can run ;)
The Halloween collab could use some love. Why don't you try writing some short skits that people (or even you) can animate. It would be a good way to ease into the whole collab process while doing something you're comfortable doing.
Good luck :D
At 9/28/11 12:13 PM, JayArmstrongGames wrote: What sort of thing do you do?
Well, he obviously can't make a proper thread and has no submissions to show for himself, so we can only assume the answer is... nothing :P
OP, If you want to be part of a collab, then look through the forum and find one that suits your interests/capabilities ...and join it. If you're looking for someone specific (an artist, programmer, etc), to compliment your skill set then make that clear in your posts and provide examples... people shouldn't have to guess.
Have a nice day.
Maybe you should post some samples of your work first, since you have nothing on your user page :)

If you get it through the mail, you have to pay extra and wait a few days to get it.
If you download it, you get it right away... and as long as you backup the installer/s, you'll always have it.
Not sure what Adobe's policy is on re-downloading old versions once new ones come out, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a limit... like after 2-3 new versions, you can no longer download but have to buy the newest one... they like to force people to upgrade.

You should use your dumping grounds here on ng ...that way people know it's safe to click.
If I was your teacher I'd give you a D.
You have very little info. I learned nothing, and I'm assuming you learned more about the app than the topic (unless it's for a flash class, in which case I'd give you an D-).
Your name should be much larger than the word presents (and on the same screen)... gray on red on white is hard to read, specially in that font. Your buttons are not aesthetically pleasing. If you don't know how to make a decent one of your own, got to Window > Common Libraries > Buttons and use one from there.
"Why are they gone" goes to a screen with a stickman with no head... and no back button.
"Can we fix this problem" jumps back to the beginning.
You could add a ton more info/facts and even images from google to make it more interesting and appealing... as well as informative/educational... just be sure to give proper credit.
was that enough hammering? :D

Nope... it shows up (as I draw) for me. Have you tried restarting? Are you inside a symbol, drawing or grouped object? Sometimes that can cause weirdness (specially if it's skewed, scaled or flipped).
