also you would need a MC for each joint, not for each body part. like one for the hand, one for the forearm, etc.
what exactly is an mc?
this sound like a dumb question bcuz the answer is either "of course" or "never" but do you guys story board your flashes , as in a rough drawing of each time a camera angle will change to keep you focus? becuz a flash like waterlollies musta taken forever to make .
So I've created a character with all the body parts(eyes, legs , hands, arms) now how can i actually animate?'im a lil lost, i watch a couple of tutorials but im still lost, i dont have a tablet so FBF is outta the question, can anyone guide me.
thanks just what i needed

it seems like flash is consuming most of my time(well learning it anyways), and i wanted to know is doing flashes some how career related for you guys or is it a hobby. because as a hobby 10 hours a week i doubt i could get anything done.yet i see an insane amount of flashes coming thru new grounds a day. How do u find time to flash?
my stroke for my paint brush is always greyed out, i tried messing rounf with the brush option but no matter what i do it's greyed out, can anyone help?
on average how long do your flashes take to finish from day1 to the end?
I'ive only worked on sprites thus far, but i want to branch out, and i wanted to know how is it that people do flashed with characters drawn freehand>? do they make the arms and legs all seperate symbols and manipulate them indvidually? then what about fingers and eyes? seems like an awful lot to control in frame by fram animation? or is there an easier way?
I think what you want to do is, after you import the gif goto properties>switch from movie clip to graphic> and switch to play once in the drop down.
no sprites huh, well I'll give it my sunday best
can anyone tell me what are the names of the different flash version?
like flash cs1= is also called flash #?
cs2=
cs3=
cs4=
It looks to be 3 layers as earlier stated, but it a very well used three layer- The result of properly allocated resources
I'm only a couple of weeks into it, but ill tell you one of the best way i learned was just by doing. Keep looking round the net for tutorials, I mean really, all you really need to learn is motion and shape tweens, and you already have a big peice of the puzzle to animation in flash.
I Wouldn't bother with actionscript in the beggining, except for the vcam. which is a virtual camera. so u can zoom into a peice instead of scaling to get the affect.

I think flash is a lot to take in so If i were you I'd learn these first:
-Mask/Masked layers
-Guide/Guided layer
-Motion/Shape tweens.
-Layer order
-How symbols work.
If you learn these it will not only save you time I promise you could make a respectable piece soon.
Hello,
I am wondering when people make animations like "Me Bill" how do they go about doing character movements. Do you guys draw out the whole character front, back and sides then transform it some how or Do you draw each part(head, arm, legs neck), then move them. If you do it the second way is their a way that you can link parts to move together like "linking" ? sorry if this question is unclear. I Tried.
Thanks in advance.

yea thanks
I guess I'm having a hard time comming to terms with the fact that this is a tedious craft, which I really don't have time for because I'm in college. I'm going to try though.
Thanks for suggestions (especially the V-cam and working in layers). This is the quickest and most helpuful forum because of people like you.
-Spill The Beans- most useful Flash techniques here. I am a noob and am super amped to get started in flash but i know some basic. So here i want to know some more advanced useful technique that hopefully save time BECAUSE IT IS TAKING ME FOREVER TO PRODUCE SOMETHING.
- I understand that ppl would want to keep secrets lol but any knowledge you can spare would be well appreciated.
-I Am aware that there are million of tutorials online, but i want to specifically know what are time saving technique, becuase somethings like a zooming camera by means of actionscript. would've been useful to me instead of me spends tons of time scaling everything on stage lol.
Thanls in Advance.
