then again, i'd be forced to either sneakily buy things secondhand from someone who recently visited japan, or continue to emulate the crap out of stuff if we cut off import and export practice.. i cant imagine games and whatnot from america only would be quite as good..

maybe i should look into other workarounds for that international variable.. not worthy of calling it a complete "flip", but it is a deviation from a previously adamant position..

Response to: Flipping your Position Posted June 23rd, 2014 in Politics

never. i believe the government should have no limit on spending, but the people should have no obligation to fund it. instead, we should strive to find a way to become a self-sufficient country who makes all their own products, cease imports and exports, keep international diplomatic face somehow, and hard reset the value of our economy through the power of fiat money every time it goes to hell.

then the government would be able to fund whatever programs for the public it needed.

also, everyone should do whatever the hell they please without fear of being jailed or executed. but it will be aeons before its safe to do that, since we'd need to evolve our medical science to accommodate all those serial killers and whatnot..

Response to: Why do executions have to be humane Posted June 23rd, 2014 in General

i loathe those who think punishment in ANY form is in any way justice, let alone inhumane execution.

seriously, let them all free once they're rehabilitated.

and do NOT claim anyone is incapable of being rehabilitated.. nobody ever ceases to be a human being, no matter what they've done or how often.

personally, i find the concept of spending years in any corrections facility type completely unnecessary as well. months will do just fine.

we would need to get our medical science completely revamped before even considering any of this, but it would be well worth the resources spent researching..

I'd imagine it yelping was an indictator, thats usually a good sign of trauma animals would feel.

fair enough.. a yelp IS obvious.. but there was no way i could have known it yelped.. without using the link of course.. unless someone else mentioned it earlier and it slipped past my radar..

I dunno, I would have thought being a infant or a child in both human or animal always are undeveloped for sexual intercourse of any kind, I don't see how you're think you can educate a child to fully understand and want sex at the age of 10 or 12, why that should even matter at that age.

undeveloped physically? perhaps.. mentally is another story. you either didnt understand my point or you forgot i mentioned that some minds develop faster than others. one simply has to find an individual whos mind is older than their body. then, they must make it clear that it has a possibly big chance of hurting far more than it may feel good.

after that, its a yes or no question, and the pedo needs to go someplace else if they say no.

I don't know, seems a bit fucked up to train a puppy to enjoy itself being penetrated

not enjoy. that would be fucked up. the purpose of the training, rather. is to help it understand better whats happening, and to give an indication if itd be okay with it, if not would like it. it may be biologically wired to some degree to already know whats going on , as it is a primitive animal after all. but it wont completely on its own.

I'll agree that anyone with any morbid obsession, feelings or urges of sexual or violent nature should be better understood rather than just ignored, but you can't expect the guy not to be arrested for committing such a crime.

actually, i can, just not in today's society. the point is, we're supposed to be working to a point where arrests are unnecessary and people can just use security personnel to prevent the act from occuring unwantedly.

an arrest may be a "necessary evil" for the time being, i understand that much clearly. but we need to work to change that.

I don't even think actual zoophilies think animal paedophilia is ok, especially what happened here.

You're not going to make the sexual abuse of a baby animal seem normal or ignorable considering how much trauma it was put through.

pedophilia involving sexual contact IS okay... but only under certain conditions.. now, as i havent seen the animal in question due to not being the type to follow links to source material, i cant tell how old of a pup it is.. all i know is its a puppy.. so for all i know, it may or may not be a direct analogue to my philosophy about human children..

i also do not know how badly the animal was "traumatized", for the same reason i do not know its age..

a child can be educated, provided their mind is sufficiently capable of understanding human speech. they know fact from fiction.

an animal, is rather more difficult. it cannot understand human speech completely, no matter how old it is. yet they can be trained, if they are physically large/independent enough to accomplish the given task.

an infant in both cases, would be harm done. not necessarily so if it were a non-infant puppy or a toddler. furthermore, some minds develop and mature at quicker rates than others in both species.

now, i highly doubt the guy bothered to figure out how to go about training the pup before giving into his urge, but at the same time, that doesnt mean he deserves to go to jail for it.

how many times must i mention this? nobody deserves to be shanked to death in prison. not even the most disturbed serial killer.

now i know what you're thinking.. don't. i'm not like that.

i suppose i should explain myself. when i was a young boy, one christmas eve, i went to the store with my mom to buy a present for my little brother. knowing full well she wouldnt let me get a present for myself, and that my brother had similar tastes to my own, i got it for him instead. then, once the holidays were behind us, my mother made him share it with me, the way i always had to share my stuff with him.

just as planned...

more recently, i did something similar with my pets. i convinced my mother that i'm a greedy bastard who does nothing unless paid, then i go feed my pets, and get money for it too.. or at least, it worked for awhile, then she found me out.

i still fed them of course, i wouldnt dream of deliberately letting them starve.. but now, seeing as she takes care of it for me, i dont have to anymore..

nowadays, i selflessly go out there and scratch them under the collar, play a couple games with them, once a month or so. but thats about it..

but i digress.

this topic has no value whatsoever. a man got sexually involved with an animal. so frikkin what? he doesnt deserve to be put away for that.. if he hurt the animal in the process, it was accidental, unless he had a gore fetish, in which case he probably should get mental help so he doesn't continue to mix fantasy and reality in that department..

Response to: Monsters that gave you Nightmares Posted June 21st, 2014 in General

nightmares? i'm immune. well, almost. i can get them, provided i can sleep deeply enough at the time. its just utterly impossible to induce them.

i can find things "disturbing", but i dont find much that anyone else thinks is to be so.

i can also find things "scary", but not fictional ones. they have to pose a real threat to induce fear. and it has to be either something poisonous, a CDC biosafety level 4 disease, or a source of some other form of extremely deadly medical condition. and they must be in my immediate area. a terrorist attack outside my neighborhood, let alone outside my city, will not do the trick.

and then i can find things "startling" if they suddenly pop out of nowhere, even in fiction, but i almost immediately return to normal.

so no, there are no "monsters that give me nightmares".

cmon, raping a dog or child is no different from raping an adult human.. yet for some reason, we always seem to treat the rapists of them worse than we would the rapists of said adults..

hell, i think sexual assault should be treated no different from regular assault, and that either we put the sex offender registry in the garbage, or force all those who have any kind of criminal record whatsoever to notify the community where they live, all under one banner so people dont go harassing specific demographics quite so much.

i mean, what did they think would happen with the sex offender registry? people simply staying away from them out of fear? wishful thinking but no. harassment happens. then it turns into murder. and nobody, no matter what anyone says, deserves to die.

in a perfect world, crime wouldnt exist. in the best possible idealistic world however, we must still correct crime. notice how i said "correct". not punish. this is a case of "gandhi was right". an eye for an eye and the world will be blind.

governments are not meant to rule through fear. just as citizens should not fear being kicked out of their homes for not paying their bills, criminals should not fear losing their human rights. this does not mean they should be allowed to continue their criminal activities of course (IF the law they broke was a reasonable one rather than a dumb one..) but we can find a way to keep the people and their property safe without imprisoning anyone..

now, i realize that until we do find said methods, the imprisonment will remain a so-called "necessary evil", but it is our responsibility to work on devising them, even if we think it a supposedly impossible task.

until we do, we cannot achieve utopia. again, not something everyone would consider possible, but something it is necessary to work towards regardless, if we wish to live in one. and if you dont wish to live in a utopia, sucks to be you..

there is a difference between the industry dying and the gaming itself dying.. hell, i dont believe any industry in the history of the world will ever permanently stay dead, even if there's a chance it dies in the first place.

that doesnt mean gamers will somehow magically start forcing themselves to like the shit they have to put up with for eternity.. everyone outgrows stupidity at some point, unless they die first. people have a tendency to shelve things when they get bored, and when they get bored of shelving, they sell it off to whatever sucker they can con.. its human nature to be greedy.

now, i know the saying "a new sucker is born every minute", and i'm not saying it isnt true.. i just dont believe that will always be the case. stupidity is a beatable foe. greed isnt.

the greedy will do everything in their power to keep the smart ones in the dark about the real extent of their actions so they can keep getting paid. and success is inevitable at some point, because evil always finds a way...

Response to: Is gaming really dying? Posted June 17th, 2014 in Video Games

yes, its dying, but not because the games themselves are bad. instead, the consoles are the problem. fewer and fewer consoles keep in the game with each passing generation, and thus less and less incentive for the console makers to care about what features they experiment with, as its either their way or the highway..

the wii. gbasp, and ds started this downward spiral with their awkward controls and compatibility issues, next came the ps3, 4, and vita, which also had compatibility issues, then the xbox one came, with its rumored secondhand user lockouts..

wii u, kinect, ps move.. all these things suck terribly.. the power glove failed for a reason, and yet these dingdongs are still getting a marketing success out of it..

there are essential qualities that are imperative for a system to be good. in order to raise morale, i am offering prizes to the most deserving consoles.. the rules that will govern what i like to call "the mv13 team spirit award" are these:

first thing, a game system must be fully backward compatible with all its previous gen version games, as well as its accessories such as controllers, memory cards, and so on, if such things exist for said previous gen version.. or be shot.

secondly, a game system must not use motion sensor controls as its primary or mandatory control type... or be shot.

thirdly, people who buy their stuff used must be able to use the game system to the fullest extent of its potential... or it will be shot.

fourth off, a game system's graphical style must not look overly babyish. for example, 3ds fails at this.. and thus will be shot.

finally, any game system that breaks any rules i have yet to formulate will.. yes, you guessed it, be shot.

return to whatever it was you were doing now.. as you all know i'm a very generous person and am likely to start handing out "prizes" right away.. so go on, shoo, be off with you, chopchop..

Don't imply I haven't gone through the game multiple times myself. I've deleted save files, and I've had a PS3 quit on me. Now, I can't keep you from lying but I already know you are. Mephilis is the Sonic equivalent of Lucifer. He fucks shit up because he can, he has a dark and murderous demeanor, and he is beyond Sonic's dimension. How much more ignorant could you be?

i am not lying. i do not own a ps3, nor was i aware that the game wasnt xbox 360 exclusive, but unless there are version differences in the plot, like there was in star wars: force unleashed, i am 100% certain you are in error. solaris, the time god of soleanna, was used in an experiment intended to generate power for the kingdom, but it went wrong and solaris was split into two parts, mephiles, his mind, and iblis, his body/raw power. mephiles swore revenge on the entire plane of existence, starting with the kingdom responsible. for this, he decided to make elise cry by orchestrating sonic's death, so that the flames of disaster could be unsealed via chaos emerald energy.

You have no knowledge of logic whatsoever. I took debate through high school. A strawman is when you belittle one's argument in an attempt to make it easier to rebut. And I was not doing that. I took what you said as it was. And it was nonsensical drivel. You are the only hypocrite here.

from wikipedia: "A straw man, also known in the UK as an Aunt Sally,[1][2] is a common type of argument and is an informal fallacy based on the misrepresentation of an opponent's argument. [3] To be successful, a straw man argument requires that the audience be ignorant or uninformed of the original argument.

The so-called typical "attacking a straw man" implies an adversarial, polemic, or combative debate, and creates the illusion of having completely refuted or defeated an opponent's proposition by covertly replacing it with a different proposition (i.e., "stand up a straw man") and then to refute or defeat that false argument ("knock down a straw man") instead of the original proposition.[4][5]"

and you did so yet again by saying you took it as it was.

You are the only one here making any implications. You have shown up to this point, and likely will continue to, that you have little knowledge of what's going on here. You seem to have forgotten what we were talking about as a whole.

forgotten? no. misinterpreting? perhaps in some places, but you yourself are also at fault here. i'm an aspy, so i like to prepare for every possible eventuality to compensate for my less than stellar ability to infer what people's opinions and contexts are. i repeat, i imply nothing. i do it just in case. sorry if my wording things seems to mean something else to you than it actually does, but its just as much your fault for interpreting things the way you do as it is mine for improper word choice.

Actually the furry content makes for just over a third of the story. That's considering Sonic's story and the ever so DREADFUL final story. You know what scene I'm referring to. And you can hardly count your statement as proof of anything besides your own ignorance.

if you speak of sonic's death/ressurection, then perhaps i do know what you speak of. but that doesnt change the fact that, though his mission's end goal is to rescue elise, both the majority of the cutscenes and game elements either revolve around time travel or gathering information about eggman and iblis.. just over a third OF a third involves furry stuff, if that. nice try though..

Air is relevant when you are jumping over a bottomless pit. Of which there are a considerable amount in Arctic Base. You obviously swerve wildly every time you drive the Warthog. There is almost no other way to flip over unless you ram into something or something rams into you. Even then, the maps in Halo are expansive, and are suited for the large Warthogs. Arctic Base is rather cramped.

you know nothing about white acropolis. there are speedup pads over every single bottomless pit, drive over one and it will be sufficient to launch you over every time. unless of course you didnt remember to deactivate the laser fence over the one by the breakable ice wall before attempting to jump, in which case they launch you into said fence, and you die.

also, flipovers, in both games, nearly always occur when driving over a cliff. and thats about the only time i ever got one, apart from those giant robots that launch their arms at you, or the lasers from the biped tanks, or the largest form of missiles from a source i cant recall. and those are all basically the impact equivalent of hunters shooting their fuel rods at you, a major source of flipovers in halo.

That would explain why you've hardly been able to properly support your arguments.

no it doesnt, because by that logic, if my arguments were fabrications, the typed letters they consisted of would be nonexistent.

That makes for the majority of the game.

if you're looking at it on an average number of stages basis, sure. if not, you are a moron.

These are actually the only levels to have many curved paths in them at all. And they are the only other ones besides Kingdom Valley, which I can't define very well. I can recall more platforming than actual pathways.

curved paths are irrelevant.

I recognize a pulled statistic when I see it. Nice try, but you would be right if you said curved passages. That's excluding Tropical Jungle and Radical Train.

again, curved passages are entirely irrelevant to this conversation. curved movement can be done anywhere. not just in a curved passage.

If you think the gems were at all expensive, you either suck at the game, or just haven't played it, which is getting increasingly evident. Getting an S rank on the town missions made getting the gems a breeze. And yes, what you were doing was belittling my argument. All cheats are not created equal. You made a bold statement, therefore it stands as a solid point, that collapsed in on itself for being a logical fallacy. Do you even read what you type before you post it? All that aside, it still shows the lazy game development. And you have nothing to refute this. My point stands.

i care not about rank or sidequest, i'm a lax player. reguardless, even if you got all s ranks in story missions, you still wouldnt have enough to get all the gems.

I'm starting to find your low intellect entertaining.

i find your even lower intellect all the more entertaining.

No, you really just brought it up to have something to argue about. Let's be honest here. It holds no impact on the rest of this discussion. I recommend you drop it before you embarrass yourself further.

i legitimately thought you meant a different section of the area in question than you actually were. there are multiple such constructs in the mach speed section. try better when clarifying which you mean next time.

Which has happened to me before with Sonic 06. Granted it is not common, but it still happened. I don't expect you to believe that.

correct. i dont believe you if you say it happened on the xbox 360 version. not that you did, its another "just in case".

Neither of these instances portray your idea of a glitch. These were the way they were designed. And you can actually fix your errors in both of them. It took me two years to beat the Water Temple before I found that I had missed just one door. You can't blame the game for that.

how was the loztp thing not?

:They weren't bugs, and they were good games.

they are, and i never said they weren't.

There you go making implications again. I never said they were the same thing. They create a problem nonetheless.

goddammit, i never imply anything. i say these things just in case.
