it's fascinating, as are all creepy things to me. probably why i enjoyed watching salad fingers. still, if you ask my opinion on poems in general, (which nobody would but screw it.. ) i quote a couple of elves from overlord:

"oh brother, how lucky we are to live in the bounteous bosom of evernight."

"aye, my friend, we are. let us pray to the mother goddess, for although she is a cold and uncaring harlot, undeserving of worship, she alone will listen to our woe, our sorrows, and our poetry."

Response to: How did you get your username? Posted November 4th, 2014 in General

mine probably subconsiously stems from a failed runescape quest draft i released to the public back when i was still a regular on rsof..

title was "miasmic vortex".. some time after, i took one of those random quiz thingies that keep cropping up over the internet, and i got "you are a mystic".

i probably hashed the two together when typing using my dyslexic memory, and came up with "mysticvortex".

the 13 is just a thing i tack on at the end, like 666 or 777 or any other possibly occult-affiliated number when i'm required by a website to use numbers as well as letters for whatever reason. and since i use this name for several sites out of habit, that's how it got here as well.

No, you're just an idiot.

then i'm assuming you're just a troll. seriously. i had no intention to be funny. i was using memetic lines to make a point.

What exactly become less peaceful? Other than the capacity for war and violence, I'd have to say nothing. Our World today is extremely peaceful (relative to human history), even with all the conflict going on.

and yet there are far more extremist groups emerging throughout the world in short succession than ever last i checked.. not that i'm 100% up to speed on my history lessons in such matters.. but as far as the stereotypical "holy wars" are concerned, the crusades and the historic rivalry between israel and egypt aren't exactly much for comparison..

What world do you live in where horror movies can't easily be found? lol. Middle of nowhere in a religious indoctrination compound?

or some country where such things are not only illegal but also closed out by internet searches.. i'm not sure which. still, just because something's commonly found doesnt mean it's necessarily popular. correlation does not imply causation.

i'm not of course disputing that horror is indeed popular, freddy vs jason was radical... it's just that horror shouldnt exactly be called horror to all involved. blanket terming things is just so.. outdated..

i have an entire collection of ocarinas.. no zelda ones though.. just your run of the mill ones..

ocarinas, like all flute type instruments, i find, are surprisingly easy to play.

not properly of course, that takes practice. by properly i mean "conventionally", not "in a way that sounds good"...

i do it by covering all the holes on the instrument, and then letting go of some at random while blowing at various controlled strengths. works like a charm. you can create pretty much any note, depending on how hard you blow.

Maybe their brakes failed, maybe they thought they would scare the kids, we don't know but what we do know is they fled the scene of a crime therefore they have already made themselves look guilty as hell, torn up, panicked, ashamed whatever it doesn't matter, they killed three kids and should be held accountable for their actions like a decent member of society.

i dont believe in black and white. or even a universal moral code for that matter...

i'm just saying though it may be negligent, it's not inhuman.

and i'm telling you, no it really wouldnt necessarily be easier for them. if they were drunk, they werent necessarily aware of their actions and therefore i dont believe it just to hold them responsible for them in any way other than compensating the families for their losses. not that adequate compensation exists, but that's the way it goes.

if they werent drunk, same deal as far as being held responsible goes, unless they intended to do what they did, in which case, get a shrink who isnt a quack (if such things exist) on their case pronto so they can begin to be compulsorily rehabilitated.

the prison system is far too broken to justify it's use in it's current state. not that mental healthcare is much better but at least society isnt opposed to fixing it like they are to the prisons..

They ran away after killing three children... a decent human being would have called for help and explained what happened to the police regardless. They didn't do this, they left three kids dying in the road.

like i specified before, not necessarily the case. they could have felt the guilt and wanted to help, but it's possible they knew as i do how society would react if they did. they wouldnt call the person decent, they'd still insist he was to blame in some way.

if he were drunk, they'd insist on putting him away for dui instead. if he werent drunk, they'd try and find some other excuse as to why the accident happened in the first place and put him away for that.

and once he's away, whats to stop the cops from looking the other way while the other inmates mutilate his corpse?

nothing. cops, as the oh so dignified and essential and righteous protectors of society, are practically authorised to get away with murder. they use excessive force and police brutality and other unspeakable acts of corruption, and get off with a slap on the wrist the few times they cant portray it to the masses as an act of justice or self defence or some other plausible deniability scenario.

firing of the cops is the worst they ever typically get, more often it's just temporary suspension if anything at all.

pretty much yeah. but it's obviously the exception to the rule..

it had backward compatibility with original xbox, didnt have babylike graphical stylization, and didnt feature a bs motion sensor controller as it's default primary one.
so? backwards compatibility doesn't make a good system. what do you mean babylike? looks a lot more like the original than 360. you mean the Kinect? that thing that nobody likes and you can just ignore and never use it.

the kinect sucks ass, but it's an addon, not a real system, and like most addons, it came out after the main system did. i specified the 360 was the last incarnation i cared for.

by babylike i mean the graphical choice the system used is typical of that used in baby's cartoons, like "teen titans go!" (not the regular teen titans shown on kids wb) as expressed through so-called "ports" like ocarina of time 3d.

and yeah backward compatibility is only one piece of the puzzle, but it's an absolutely essential one for those systems who's previous decent incarnations featured it. the moment it's removed, the whole thing collapses like a jenga tower without any decently placed keystone blocks.

it's another story if they never featured that backward compatibility to begin with of course.
