oh really? i've been telling everyone on this board all along, wii has bs motion sensor controls which i swear were based on the power glove with all it's imprecise actions, and mandate you use it as the default one instead of releasing it as a gimmick like lightgun games would have.

the wii at least has some backward compatibility with gc to compensate, but the wii u? nope. not by default anyway, you need to buy a goddamn adapter.

and it doesnt even play gc games anymore either.

i ask you a simple question? are players not entitled to the controller type they always felt comfortable with before? no says nintendo, it belongs to history, so let us do some lsd and come up with some batshit insane new way of incorporating a terribly failed idea in a way that we think will please the masses.

me personally? i suppose i'm great at pokemon also, as well as doom, tales of phantasia, pretty much most fps or rpg or strategy or shmup there is that ive tried, except for a few bullet hells and the absolute most difficult strategy games.

oh, and bioshock. i'm not too good at that either. i'm absolutely dependent on vita chambers. probably why i never killed fontaine.

to me, shin megami tensei isnt really an rpg so much as what i call mazes n monsters, so it dont count unless you speak of smt3 nocturne, which i havent played.

fighters however, i cannot win unless i do beginner difficulty, since the computer is a cheating bastard. blocking all the time.

i cannot say i'm much good at platformers though even though that's one of my top 3 favorite genres... i keep getting hit, suffering rank bs and cs, with the occasional d in ranked games. sometimes that's just cause i take forever to explore a stage cause i need to get 100% of everything, pickups, enemies in a stage killed, destruction of breakable scenery, the works.. still, i'm only ever half good.

minecraft. my home would be a frikkin badass tower in the middle of a jungle/desert composite biomed island's gulf, dammed off and flooded the foundation with lava, save for an obsidian saferoom and basement level with escape tunnels leading into caves and other random generated structures, such as abandoned mines and ravines. the walls would be hollow and filled in with explosives, and the trapdoor to the aforementioned saferoom would be hidden under the purely ornamental throne's stone panel seat, with the detonator halfway down the shaft behind a glass panel.

i'd lure as many foes up to the topmost level of the tower, which is at cloud level, then barricade their escape to stall, run down to the throne room, bust open the ornamental panel and trapdoor, replace them, break the safety glass, flip the switch, and laugh maniacally as their gibbed, charred remains fall several floors down to ground level and are encased in cobblestone, stone, and more obsidian while the ocean envelopes the entire island my house used to be situated on due to the hugeass main ravine, running through it's center and adjacent to my base, being also filled up entirely with explosives and covered in purely innocent looking jungle grass like the rest of the area.

then, i'd finish work on the tunnel i'd prepared up to an adjacent island for just such an occasion and start a new home there. rinse and repeat.

also, as far as non-wii lineup goes, i liked castlevania dawn of sorrow and order of ecclesia.

i know only one game i listed so far has been purely the work of nintendo but screw it.

i dunno about inconsistencies in the same exact edition of the film, but the star wars original trilogy i watched as a young child was nothing like that which i watched a couple years later on vhs.

take return of the jedi for example. the shield bunker to the death star 2 was unguarded in the vhs version, save for a couple of stormtroopers out front, and it turns out "it's a trap". the rebels are surrounded by the empire.

in the original version i watched, it was instead legitimately guarded, albiet insufficiently and with incompetent officers. the rebels surround the empire, plant the charges, and watch the fireworks shortly thereafter, and the ewoks dont have to help them in that part, but instead focus on the atsts and atts.

the emperor in the vhs version says "i'm afraid the shield will be quite operational when your friends arrive.." but in the original i watched, he said "i'm afraid this battlestation will be quite operational when your friends arrive.. " as if to imply the rebels thought it couldnt fire its superlaser due to misinformation the empire let the bothans steal and die for.

meanwhile, in the space battle, the death star 2 opens fire with it's superlaser on the millennium falcon in the original i watched, which somehow beyond all logic survived the shot but lost it's deflector shields, prompting lando to say "whoa, that blast came from the death star, that thing's operational!"

in the vhs version, it opens fire on a capital ship behind the falcon, prompting the same line. more logically sound in that part at least..

in the original i watched, darth vader's executioner flagship simply blows up offscreen when the a wing breaches it's bridge.

the vhs, it plummets and impacts the surface of the death star 2.

both versions of this were rebrodcast by a couple tv stations during that timeframe i feel i should mention. also, i'm not in any way claiming the original i watched was the true original, since i wasnt even alive back then.

nobody is allowed a such thing as hall passes in that school, probably since it's open campus and has few real buildings, only portables. still.. making all kids be accompanied by their teacher any time they are to use the restroom? wtf? are they seriously that understaffed, that we only get to pee at lunch unless we wet our pants?

not just that either, everyone got "home notes" or something like that daily, i forget their proper name. anyway, whichever staff member is there on watch when that corresponding set of kids are there tallies up however many things they find fault in the actions of the students, (things as insignificant as wetting your pants in some cases), and at the end of the day they subtract those faults from a score of 100, and if you get a low enough score, you get labled a troublemaker that day.

and they hand it to your parents, who are none the wiser as to what you did to recieve that label. and they expect your parents to punish you for it.

so pretty much, if you're a low functioning autistic, you cannot escape their whims even when you go home for the day. even if you aren't it's damn difficult.

Of course not, but you would get the ones expected and the ones fans want, I doubt anyone would want to play every Gamecube game anyway.

that's not the point... for the record, of course such people exist, and we cannot exclude the few for the needs of the many. for a system that does not support all it's partakers, supports none of them at all. even if there's theoretically an unpleasable fanbase.

the point is, we need to have it there in case more desire to use it arises.

now, i'm not just talking software either. hardware such as gc controllers were once usable without an adapter. now they arent.

You're complaining about the Wii U not having backwards compatibility for the gamecube, I agree it sucks, but you don't seem to understand that Nintendo could just put up Gamecube games on the Virtual Console, the fact that they are the only 8th gen home console to even do backwards compatibility with the previous gen is good enough for me, not mention the GBA, NES SNES and even the odd DS title on the VC.

virtua console is not default hardware. you need to download stuff to have it. so it's technically just as much an addon as kinect was for xbox360. also, i highly doubt they'd be offering every single game ever made for the gc on there..

gba had backward compatibility in that it could play practically every single game ever made for gb and gbc. they took it out for ds. the wii would have similar but distinct issues with the gc games.

not to mention the issue of it not being freeware anymore to download something. why pay for what you already own?

all this talk of multiplayer and people dont yet realize that such things were meant to be confined to mmos, card games, strategy games and the like.

not frikkin fps. fps is supposed to be campaign mode and ai arena only. multiplayer takes the fun out of being a sniper.
