Ignore that last post. I am an FL 8 user. I don't have any purchased plugins, all freeware or shareware. PM me if you are interested. I have been using FL for about a year and a half.

It took me 8 months to totally truly grasp all the basic and mediocre concepts of this program. I taught myself using small tutorials, the actual FL manual, NG (this place actually taught me a ton I could never learn otherwise), and exploring the crap out of the program. This is why I love NG. A lot of people contributed to small portions of what I know.

How do I upload a midi file like that? Or just straight link it to here from my computer? or what?

I listened to your midi chromanut, it sounds childish in the sense of it being like C scale notes.

I remember that one, buy samples and then use them in the hopes of winning?

As far as making them, do they have to made totally by you by scratch, like go record some loops at a studio or something? or what?

I am really enjoying your art, but I have a request. Could you draw three frames of a character jumping, with each frame a different progress of the jump? I noticed your characters are only standing, none are crouching, jumping, twisting, or anything, and most are facing foward.. They are mostly in one general form. If you can draw it, more power to your work, and if not, practice, because frame of reference will open up so many new doors.

I was just extremely freaking bored right now, so I decided to look up midi flute in google (don't ask why that came to mind), but it actually came up with midi flute. And then, there was more... I saw a midi flute, midi drawbar, midi accordian, and even some odder combinations. There was apparently a midi SHOE, where I am guessing that if you tapped your shoe, the note data sent through. I was kinda skeptical on that one, 'cause of it's setup. What other midi items have I not seen?

P.S, that actually looks quite nice.

Odd Midi Instorzmentz?

As a little experiment, take one of your trance songs and pan the bass sounds to the right. You know what to expect probably. It will sound bad and make your ears hurt, in the audio knowledge wise way.

Is this really a topic we can talk about much here? This is moreso an appreciation for music than it's creation.

But I can say that you know when a game's music is so good when you actually have to sit for a few minutes and just listen to the music itself because it's so capturing.

I mean, you now have one less item to worry about on your Christmas list.
Look at MY list:

1. Laptop
2. MIDI Keyboard
3. Condenser Microphone
And with any petty Christmas cash remaining, I wanna buy a second monitor and some headphones (even if they're decent $20 ones that are big and work like DJ headphones)

So basically, I want a semi-full audio setup...
Well, let me start being nice instead of naughty =P (this is gonna be VERY hard ;))

As far as jarrydn's response, I agree with him. It's small, but it's one of those good originals. But if you aren't all into the classic stuff, I guess that wouldn't be the way to go, or if you want a bigger keyboard.

Laptop (1000+ for a good one for producing at the minimal) + MIDI keyboard (average around 300), and a condenser microphone (a good one can be around 200 up to 500), gosh, you better get on your knees for santa this year.

You are on the right track with your iPod headphones. I'd say just buy a couple different pairs of headphones/earphones, not expensive ones. I have a small pair of phillips earphones that I use. And also get a pair of mediocre speakers. No matter how astounding your music may sound out of your best headphones, it's not going to sound any better out of the general average medium other users listen to your music out of.

Complain and get free VST's from the company. That is kind of weirdly funny, but I would be annoyed just knowing that I am limited because of that thing. I would never look at the D the same again. Can I get this VST as a demo to try it out?

I don't really know. I mean, a lot of older crappier movies have music that sounds like it came straight from a Casio piano and basic wave sounds just bashed together. But usually soundtracks for higher production movies seem to fit.

Topic: Fl Studio File Question

Posted: 11/24/09 09:34 PM

Forum: Audio

If you mean you just want to take two songs and mix them together to form one bigger song, just use audacity and join them. If you mean literally move all clips and files from one flp to another, there is a problem. If that were possible, there would be so many conflicting data crossing over, you would probably not wish you did that. You are going to have to save all your sounds and midi settings and then replace them in the other flp. Just go up to the channel settings button on top and click "save channel state as..." or in your plugin, do the same. Same goes for midi files. You are out of luck there.

A point to pick out on Nathanallen before I go to my point. I don't think this guy is going to buy 3 computers to work with. Just one for now.

But really it is a matter of preference. Macs are not bad for music production. As far as I hear. M school uses macs for all their graphic design classes and music production classes. The difference is whichever format you are more accustomed to. If you are used to the PC and it's file formats and the way it works, go there. And vice versa for Mac.

By the way, it does not have weighted keys, so no velocity, but regardless, I am pretty exited about it.

I just searched midi in google, and found this. Have I just hit exactly what I need?

Is there one a little cheaper somewhere else?

So, I have had this keyboard for years, long before my audio time, which started a year and a half ago. Long story short, my father's old fiance/girlfriend left a few years ago, and she left most of her stuff with us, including this piano she had for the longest which she never used but paid hundreds of dollars for. I even tried getting rid of it at some points, trying to sell it and what not, but a garage sale never came around and I had no use to play this piano anymore.

Before the shower, I was just looking for a midi keyboard for Christmas (as an alternative to headphones or something else music related), but see they are quite expensive. But just now, as I got out of the shower, just for the lulz I checked the back to see if it was a midi keyboard, and to my FUCKING delight, it is! All this time, I have had a 49-key midi keyboard.

So now I just need your help. I don't know much at all about setting up/hooking up a midi keyboard. There are only two ports, a midi IN and midi OUT. What can I do so that I can hook up this keyboard to my computer? And if I need a mixer, heck, I'll change my gift to a small mixer.

I got a free Midi Keyboard?!

I thought that too, thinking that they were just a name brand that mass produces (which they probably do), but I checked them out regardless, no bias here.

I tried to open your chaoz fantasy remix, and my computer was dying on me. And I opened Speed of sound, and that was just chewing up my cpu like a dogtoy. Besides, I had to replace every single VSTi with one of my own and the only hint of how it sounded was your titles. They weren't bad, but I can't judge when I don't have the same plugins as you.

I have been checking out headphones all of today that I have had a chance. I have checked all the name brands, and I have narrowed it down to two brands right now. Panasonic general old style headphones for generalness, and Sony broadcast/industry quality headphones, mainly because what caught me was their frequency range. 5-80,000 hz! 80 khz! MY gosh, I can't even hear that, but I would like 'em just to brag. Besides, maybe they have a ton of power. Although they don't look too top notch. Also, the Denon's you are saying, but those are right now on hold due to pricing issues and availability.

Panasonic general old style

Sony highest level headphones
