Tomorrow I leave to embark on my second year of college at the University of the Arts. I am absolutely looking forward to it. I have an apartment now with some friends, and I am finally starting to take classes directly relating to Graphic Design. It should be great.

Next time you're in the 'delph Luis, and don't want to stay at the Omni, I'm running my own Bed and Breakfast. Give me a ring.

Sounds fun. I just moved into my dorm at School of Visual Arts last Sunday. Classes don't start until next tuesday though. :/

Yeah it looks like you have two vanishing points on different horizon lines which is impossible. Also the bricks should be angled for the perspective. Other than that, i love the texture and the direction you're headed in.

It's scary how close we're getting to photorealism in animation (videorealism?) How will we be able to tell what's real anymore in a few years?

Photoshop was being a bitch and I had a stupid run in with cops today that kept me from working more on this but I just finished it. MindChamber did the line work. I did the color.

[With regards to the t-shirt, it's a bit 'loud'. Possibly would work better if you made the lines more grey, like a background. Then maybe do some smaller, thicker stuff in dark over the top. You don't know where to look otherwise!]

Yeah I gotta play around with the color combinations i think. The thing is i want to limit it to one color, not including the color of the shirt.

Here's another idea I'm messing around with:

I've had the wacom graphire 3 for about 5 years now and it still works perfectly. I did have to replace the mouse once because dirt got in it and the button kept getting stuck. But yeah, it's a great tablet that i'd recommend.

so after over a year's hiatus from flash, i decided to pick up again and try to make a game using whatever art skills I've acquired in that time. last night i stayed up until the sun started to rise working on this. it felt good to be "in the zone", working on something again.
unfortunately, while my art skills improved, my coding skills generally stayed the same. haha. Hopefully that doesn't ruin the game :\

Attached is a screen shot, just to tease you. It looks pretty sexy in motion, if I do say so myself, because every single element moves at a different rate depending on its position from the "camera". (far elements move slow). I also taught myself how to do particle effects to get the smoke looking nice (i was so proud of myself haha). I can't say for sure when this will be finished, but at the rate I've been working on it, it shouldn't be TOO long.

I started playing around in Flash in 2003 i think... but I stopped like last year because I realized that I suck at that kind of animation and I decided to focus my skills on art in Photoshop and some motion graphics here and there in After Effects. Recently though, I've been wanting to try my hand at Flash again, just to see if my acquired knowledge and skill in art will transfer over to Flash animation.

thanks. here's how i do it! (as promised):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqHhl87Px 2Q

you can see for most of the video it looks like total crap and basic shapes but by playing with curves and colors and light, it all comes together by the end. The video stops before i add the man-made elements because those were an afterthought.

the environments are looking super sexy. I really like the one with the tank(?) on top. I feel like if you go into detail on it it could be pretty epic and slick. Also the characters look really nice as usual.
