Response to: Do video games desensitize you? Posted December 22nd, 2012 in General

If you're a nutjob, or mentally unhinged, then any type of visual medium could prepare you for fucking conflict. Put simply, if your mind is 'out to lunch', the moral side is no longer considered and you are free to watch and learn technique.

You already need to be desensitized to humanity and suffering (by propeganda or otherwise) for video games to have any effect. At which point, the damage is already done. Video games aren't to blame. Bad parenting is. This could also be expanded to the army, or any kind of government institute.

Dinosaur bones. As for man made stuff, I have the Wind and the Willows book which I'm pretty sure is a damn sight older than me (and in better condition).

Response to: Best thing about Christmas time? Posted December 16th, 2012 in General

Well, I suppose its family, friends. Alcohol is something you can get any other time of the year. So is family and friends, but family is spread further afield than friends. I just like the atmosphere, I guess. But it would be nice if there was snow in my fucking country, instead of just lots and lots of rain.

Response to: How was this year for you? Posted December 16th, 2012 in General

Maybe a 3.5. Still looking for a job. Grandad's funeral on my birthday. Donated about 8 inches of my hair to a wig making charity. Got scammed a bit. Got a bit drunk. Saw some good stuff on tv. New hats. Getting back into Morrowind and other Elder Scrolls games. PC is dying. Laptop is okay.

That's about it really.

I would but, since I'm a hairy looking dude, there is no way I would pull it off. Especially since I'm not shaving (other than my face) any time soon.

Response to: I Don't Get Scientology Posted December 13th, 2012 in General

If you buy into scientology you are a brainless turd with far too much money and time on your hands. Here's some advice, buy a book, rent a movie, learn a little. Don't get yourself into some half-baked cult that costs what most average people earn in a year. And not only does it cost you to buy into it, if you are, or are married to, a scientologist, you have to let the 'church' initiate them into their little cult.

There are two reasons other than that not to become a scientologist: Tom Cruise and John Travolta. Oh, and Hubbard. And if the three people on the video are anything to go by, their brain-cells abandoned them long ago.

He sings/sounds like its already happened. His balls won't drop anyway, they're so ashamed they've ingrown.

Just my two pence worth: Every news station is biased, either cronies of a political party or scare-mongering bigots too afraid or too willfully blind to the fact that we're not stupid.

At the end of the day, good parenting starts at home, not in the government or rules set up by organisations. Those rules are doomed to fail as all they require is the user to say they are older than the requirements to look at said material.

So, if the parents are that worried, they should have their own policy regarding internet use. Otherwise, policies used by law are like spitting into the oceans.
