Thank you so much. This actually helped A LOT. I managed to figure the rest out and what I was doing wrong.

Button Action Help Posted March 23rd, 2012 in Game Development

I'm still very new to actionscript, so I'm having a hard time making buttons. At least the way I want them.

I'm trying to make a dress up game. What I want to do is to have buttons similar to the Pin-Up series in the dress up games. Where you click through outfits. Instead of the ridiculous clutter-type dress up. But I also want to be able to change the color of the outfits.
That's where it gets confusing to me.

Maybe someone could help me do this step-by-step? Or even direct me to a good tutorial.
I've tried searching on google, but I haven't found a tutorial of what I need.

I'm using actionscript 2.0 on CS5.

Thank you

and if this was the wrong place to ask, I'm sorry! D:

That video was just as funny as the whole "secret reptile people controlling politics."

You practically make anything satanic.

Ahh, I'm so jealousss you got to try. You should get one if you liked it so much! :3

My job currently dropped the accommodations for Wacom products. So I missed out! D:

I tend to say words that have nothing to do with what I was thinking or talking about. They just come out when I talk. Or I will say words or sentences backwards. Ack, it's not really weird just sounds like a medical problem. Dx

Response to: Shows with finales you liked Posted March 14th, 2012 in General

Even though it didn't clear much up and it made everything else confusing, I loved Lost.
The ending almost made me cry. When I saw Jin and Sun get back together after dieing in the submarine on the island, I almost lost it! D:
It didn't make much sense. But what won me over was the character development. I loved each and every character except for Michael >.> He was just annoying.

I'm still new to all this, but I will be working on my skills so I can enter this year! :O

It's hard to find good tutorials that you don't fall alseep through buut...

I watched OneyNG's tutorials on youtube and they are the best I've seen. It doesn't show you everything but at least the basics. He also keeps you entertained throughout the whole thing.

Otherwise, you can sit through 20 minute videos. :/

Since watching his videos, I was able to figure a lot of stuff out on my own.

Thank you! Thank you! I feel so lucky in a strange way! *o*

Oh well, it might work itself out completely.
Thank you all for trying to help!

Response to: Gradient Question Posted March 14th, 2012 in Animation

Well, it kind of fixed itself. Just a little though. Now when I copy and paste a frame it keeps the gradient. But it still doesn't save all the gradients.

At 5 minutes ago, ReNaeNae wrote: That's very odd. Does it happen in every new file you make? Which version of Flash are you using?! Are the gradients really, really huge?

I'm using CS5. The gradients vary. I will have some big ones and some small. I managed to save one of them. It also happens on every flash file.

I might just uninstall and reinstall. I think maybe something interrupted the installation when I first installed it.

Response to: Gradient Question Posted March 14th, 2012 in Animation

I was afraid I was going to have to resort to that.

Response to: Gradient Question Posted March 14th, 2012 in Animation

It changes my gradient fills into solids. Everytime I exit out, or if I copy and paste the frame.

I also found out it didn't save my most recent symbol. I save like a maniac so it should have been there.

Looks like I won't be shutting my computer down anytime soon, at least until I get this project done. :/

Gradient Question Posted March 14th, 2012 in Animation

I'm working on my first flash, so I'm really new to this, but the gradients won't save. I usually keep my computer on but I shut it down for updates and when I turned it back on, my gradient fills were gone. It really pissed me off because I worked on this flash for like 5 hours. Is there a way to stop them from disappearing or something? Am I missing a step from saving? Please, teach me your ways. Dx
