Response to: pump up songs Posted April 11th, 2006 in Audio

Dragonforce - Valley of the Damned
Crystal Method - Weapons of Mad Distortion
Sub Focus - Cold Killa Remix
Slipknot - Eyeless
Pendulum - Slam
Oakenfold - Dread Rock
Disturbed - The Game

Actually theres too many to name, but these are the ones that spring to mind.

Response to: Which is better??? Posted April 9th, 2006 in Audio

I think you mean Reason.

My preference is Reason, as it's easy to get to grips with and you can do almost anything on it, except live recording (instruments and vocals and so on) Though if you have a program called Recycle you can record with another program and use the Rex loop player and so some fun stuff with the sound.

As for acid, i've only seen it being used for a short time and it confused me, but so did Reason when i first saw it.

The best thing you can do is find a demo version or a friend who has either and try them out to see what your comfortable using.

Response to: most annoying song ever! Posted April 7th, 2006 in Audio

thats why i said if i did something like this.

It's a good idea in theory, but acctually doing it wouldnt be good for loads of reasons.
best just stick to making your own original stuff.

Response to: most annoying song ever! Posted April 7th, 2006 in Audio

Logic 7 <3 <3 <3

or you could use something like, wavelab to cut the bits of each song you want then use something like Reason, Cubase etc etc to put the track together.
but for something like this, i personally would use Logic pr0 7.

Seriously though, i'm sure all of the songs are in a different tempo and if you did put a track together some parts could sound bad or out of time.
All depends on what type of song you want to make really.

Response to: Having trouble with a song. Posted April 5th, 2006 in Audio

Look for an encoder called LAME, i use that one and infact it isn't lame, it comes with audio grabber so check their website.

Response to: What does compression do? Posted April 4th, 2006 in Audio

If you want your songs to sound good you can go one step further.
if it's reason 3.0 that you have then, before your fist mixer add a mastering sweet, there you can change all kinds of shit and it also has a compressor.

First i heard a song playing at college Judas Priest - Paint It Black, rolling stones cover, it's been stuck in my head for days so i'm gonna have to go get the CD.

Also been listening to Mozart - Carmina Burano ..... i was in a wierd mood and was blasting it out through the house.

Been listening to some Dragonforce as well and some Crystal Method.

psh, wow n cov get realy boring, realy fast.

BF2, has loads of huge maps, and you can download extra ones n so on, loads of mods, good action while playing it (nothing like being in a blackhawk with the minigun at you disposal) and you dont have to pay monthly for something that feels like work.

Response to: compressors Posted March 29th, 2006 in Audio

Yeah it degraded the quality of the file loads, its my song "systemic", the full quality version sounds hugely different.

Thats the major problem with file size limits :/

Thats too true, theres plenty of talent over here in england, but most of it is in uknown or small time artists that need huge over-hype like the yanks.

Response to: Guitar Simulators Posted March 28th, 2006 in Audio

Thats the problem with synthsesised guitar sounds, they never quit sound as good as the same thing.

theres one on logic 7, it even has all the sound effects like the scraping sound when you move your fingers up n down the strings and all that, but nothing really beats the real thing.
