So me and my friends make youtube videos and we buy props like BB guns for them. We usually keep them in my house because their parents won't let them. I almost got in trouble for spray painting them once but that's not the point.
Anyway, we bought a FAMAS assault rifle for $45. It even has a red dot and a flashlight. My friends, Dan and Matt split up the cost since I don't have a job and they do. Dan paid an extra $5 from his debit that he expected me to pay him back. I don't know why they never said I needed to pay a third of the cost, but that was never mentioned. Then again, I was the one paying for the spray paint and all other non BB props such as makeup, cutting up old clothes and applying blood makeup and doing other work. Plus I'm directing it.
After I got back from vacation, my dad gave me some money to pay back a total of $14 I owed, which included the $5 to Dan and $3 to Matt for something entirely different. Matt said, "That covers the $3 for the milkshake, but what about the $25 you owe for the gun?" So basically, he expected a total of $30 for gun, including what I already gave Dan. Let me remind you it costs $45. I argued that he never said I had to pay, but that I really should give them about $15 or $16 in fairness. That would mean $8 to Matt and another $3 to Dan. He said, "No you didn't pay then and there, so you have to pay interest." Matt only paid $23 so if he didn't split the cost with Dan, he would be making profit about of this deal.
So do you think its fair that I pay $30 and they pay a total of $15 when we all share the gun? Especially since I'm covering all other expenses like spray paint and I already had the police come to my house because of it? The gun is currently in Dan's van because they took it away but no one can use it now. It would also belong to Matt's character in the video we are working on.
I really should give them some money, but at this point I won't because they drove away and left me somewhere. We were at a friend's house watching a movie and they left just as the two main characters were holding onto a chandelier as the cables were snapping. I stayed for the last two minutes and saw them die. I called Dan who was on the same street as me when he picked up and he said, "No I'm not coming back for you, you're an idiot for staying." My friend Steph gave me a ride, but I'm still mad at them.
At this point, I don't owe them anything. Any opinions?
