lol, I like it, but... right now it's just a giraffe head stuck on a chicken body... needs more 'cross-breading' lol!! ...keep the chicken feet/talons/claws (whatever) ...and maybe make the legs really long and skinny... and give it those red flappy things on the head and chin.

That might make it look more like a giraffe trying to disguise itself as a chicken which would actually be hilarious.

Looks okay for a starter. I suggest you look up some references of both chickens and giraffes (make sure the references are pictures! Using cartoons as a reference is not recommended) and try to figure out a pose which is in line with the text: if you want to completely stretch the neck, i'd say at least do it horizontally.
Good luck!

(I know it's probably not very helpful, but it just looked so much fun that I had a go myself)

Also, if you're an 3D designer, why not upload here some of your work?

If you read carefully you should know he asked for a concept artist to design an environment in 2D which he can convert into a 3D map.
But yes, it'd be nice see some other work first.

Response to: Redesign Newgrounds Posted September 27th, 2012 in Art

At 9/26/12 08:25 PM, test-object wrote: SIZE
Let's start with making Newgrounds a BIT wider. Enough people have bigger monitors nowadays and it's sort of a relic of the past. Doesn't need to be giant, but I feel as if we could get rid of the 'long payment bill'-format.

I'm not sure this would be a good idea, it's easier to browse a page if it's within a certain width (all mayor sites have this margin, even though most fill it up with ads which, thank Tom, newgrounds doesn't do).
Maybe the space could be filled up with a static (as in not scrolling along with the page) user sidebar so you don't have to scroll up every time.
But I kind of like how the space is filled up with with art from talented users, it has a newgrounds charm.

SEARCH
Put Author in the search choices. I know I can type an author in URL. I hate doing it. A searchbar can link me straight to it, as it is a searchbar. Personal gripe.

Great idea! I've always thought the search bar should have this option.

SUBMIT BUTTON
A submit button in the spotlight. Newgrounds is all about its users and their submissions so I think that submitting could also be more attractive. I know it's featured in nearly every submenu and it may seem silly but I still feel it is somewhat hidden from public eye.

Although the newgrounds motto is 'everything by everyone', I think newgrounds is more then just a server to upload your stuff. People should also be encouraged to look at other people's work. The 'submit yours' makes you think more about what you upload, preventing newgrounds to be flooded with total crap.

FLEXIBILITY
This is a rather radical idea, but the choice of what the user finds important is a great factor on any site. I would love for the various windows to be moved openly but snap gridwise onto other windows like a Newgrounds puzzle. Having the ability to freely drag and change the size of your windows could give NG an openess which it doesn't really have at this moment.

You'll have to illustrate this make state your point, because it's not entirely clear to me.

I would also be a supporter of having the ability to scroll for some windows (especially Favourites). It allows for a better overview on new submissions, which I can imagine does get a bit annoying if you have favourited hundreds of artists, animators or musicians.

YES, This would be great!
Some sort if infinite scrolling system, loading new stuff as you scroll (like the Google image search thingy) would make it easier to browse content too.

---
Now that I have made myself the mortal enemy of every programmer in the NG office, what are your thoughts or ideas. Again, I am not claiming these ideas are anything great. You may see them as insanely radical (which they are) or maybe lacking that Newgrounds-charm. Perhaps you find them a stroke of genius...

If you have thoughts or own ideas/mockups, do post! This thread is not just for me. I want to see how this goes and how farfetched people will go with their visions

Doesn't look scary to me, I like the sketchy style. If I squint my eyes it almost looks like a picture.

The jellyfish looks cool too, though white might have been a better color for the tentacles. As most jellyfish have transparent/white tentacles, unless I am mistaken and have not seen a certain species which has black ones.

1st place goes to Hyptosis with 7 votes!!
2nd place is a tie... Izzy-A and myself both got 3 votes
3rd place goes to Kashi with to votes

Ugh, it's hard to pick just one, there should be some sort of option to pick 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
I'll give my vote to xTY3x for almost making me believe this is a real thing, beautiful.
But if there were options for 2nd and 3rd: jagondudo and TurkeyOnAStick would definitely get a vote.
