I think that's all that needs to be said. He's not a crazy man. He's not a stupid man. He's a clever man--a deviously clever man. On the surface it can make sense, because it doesn't make sense. Most people know next to nothing about quantum theory and physics, and so they just assume that what he says makes sense. All that rubbish about it being "just a metaphor" is some shitty corner he backs into when confronted with a real scientist. When speaking to the average person, he just says whatever they think makes sense--metaphor or no.. Either way, it's still b.s.
