I have permission to scan two more books from the same publisher: one covering the period 1789-1824, and another which is a biography of Joseph Weydemeyer, one of the earliest propagators of Marxism in the USA, a colonel in the Union Army during the Civil War, and a friend of Marx and Engels.

Response to: Wtf Kim-jong Un! Posted June 22nd, 2014 in Politics

How is the Democratic Republic of the Congo a "communist" country? The government is avowedly capitalist. Same thing with Russia.

???

According to the CNN story, "Blaming outdated equipment and scientific method, the young leader stressed a need for accurate forecasts to protect people's lives and property from 'abnormal climatic phenomenon' (sic) and to safeguard industries like agriculture and fisheries from natural disasters in a timely manner, according to Rodong Sinmun." It's nothing unique, it's called "on the spot guidance" in the DPRK and was practiced by Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il, and now Kim Jong Un. It basically involves them going to random places and giving their opinion on how to make things run better, which supposedly inspires the workers and managers of those places to... make things run better.

I don't see anything about kidnapping weathermen or whatever.

Response to: Communist Histories Of Us (pdf Dls) Posted June 18th, 2014 in Politics

I got permission from International Publishers to scan those works (and I got permisson to scan the other work, concerning American impressions of Lenin, as well.)

Communist Histories Of Us (pdf Dls) Posted June 17th, 2014 in Politics

I scanned these earlier this month, I figure some on here would find them interesting.

First, an analysis of the origins of American capitalism, covering the period 1607-1800: click.
Second, an account of the American Revolution meant to be read by those with no prior knowledge of the subject: click.
Third, a general history which spans the earliest American colonies to the first few years after the Revolutionary War: click.

I also scanned a book which is basically a collection of views of Lenin by various personalities in the USA (some well-known like Einstein and Helen Keller): click.

One other book, which I didn't scan, is a general history of the Americas (North, Central and South America as well as the Caribbean) from the pre-colonial era to the late 1940s: click.

I also own a compilation of writings by Lenin on the USA, which is almost 700 pages in length and which I will scan in the future.

Some more books I'd like to buy and scan on the subject of commie treatments of US history are on the expensive side. If anyone would like to help me with this (they're not hundreds of dollars, of course) then feel free to PM me.

I have quite a few VHS tapes, thing is my VCR stopped working circa 2006 and there's no particular incentive to get a new one in a world of DVDs, Blu-Rays, Netflix, etc.

I know this thread is a month old but it appears I am the internet's foremost expert on Enver Hoxha, and I also wrote about 90% of that Wikipedia article.

Just wanted to point that out. If anyone has any questions then they may ask away.

Response to: Gay... Choice or Not? Posted January 5th, 2011 in General

Saying that it's a choice implies that everyone is pretty much born bisexual. If we're born bisexual then this basically means that besides the whole cultural norms of the time, there's really nothing preventing men from going with both men and women as casually as it was done in ancient Greece or Rome, and considering how common homosexuality is (I doubt anyone "chooses" to be gay in Uganda or Saudi Arabia) that sort of undermines the whole "it's totally unnatural" argument.

Sexuality is a bit more complex than most think. Ironically enough homophobes who write it off as a "choice" are using an argument that if anything shows how "natural" homosexuality (or bisexuality) is.

The reason why you're always born in India or China is because they have huge populations whereas Luxembourg by comparison has pretty much none.

So what's the oldest you've gotten in this game? I got to 116 as a homeless and blind Russian woman.

Its free for a few days or some such. I wouldn't pay for it but yeah. You are basically given a random life, you are given some choices, you can do some things yourself and eventually you die.

The game assigns you to countries based on population, so you're more likely to be born in India or China, while you'd probably need to play hundreds upon hundreds of times to be born in Andorra or Luxembourg.

I was born in Angola. After a particularly bad family life I moved to the Central African Republic and then to Sudan. I spent literally over 30 years trying to emigrate to Libya. I became blind, weak, and suffered from hookworms but I did not care. I tried well over 15 attempts and finally at the age of 90 moved to Egypt where I was sentenced 9 years for stealing. I died at 98 while still in jail.

Response to: Viruses, here we go again... Posted August 2nd, 2007 in General

I've talked to computer experts before on the subject.

1. For spyware, get Ad-Aware. If that somehow isn't enough, SpyBot.
2. For anti-virus, get NOD32. Doesn't annoy you, updates (without lag) every few hours, etc. If you don't want to pay, use AVAST!
3. Make sure you scan files (EG. WinRAR packages) using anti-virus before opening them
4. I probably repeated what others have already said.

Oh wait, you mean the word "gay" as an insult like all idiots today do! I see...

Well, it all comes down to preferance, but I don't really like any metal band. So I really cannot judge.
