Response to: The Metric System Posted April 28th, 2005 in Politics

Actually the US govt. did try and switch to the metric system back in the 70's I believe. The reason that we still use the good ol' fashion English system is that people didn't want to switch. So all government jobs were in metric but those working on them still had to convert to the English system for one reason or another. So they decided not to fight it anymore and switched back around 2000.

Response to: Elton John is a good musician. Posted April 26th, 2005 in General

He definatly is a good musican. Yet I still don't have to like his music, and that has nothing to do with the fact that he's gay. Being a good musician and good artist are two compleatly different things.

Response to: Why Did My Movie Get Blammed?!?! Posted April 26th, 2005 in General

I got blammed because it sucked. That should have been evident in the fact that it was blammed. And not just by one person, but several. So that should tell you something, what that is...figure it out.

Response to: Your tipping custom? Posted April 26th, 2005 in General

I like the idea of putting a wad of cash on the table at the start of the meal and saying that its the potential tip. For everything they do wrong money gets taken away.

But I'm not that big of an ass, so I usually tip between 15 and 20%, hell if its a bad job I still give about 10%. Too many friends in the food industry, I know how much they rely on tips.

Even more fun. And if you know how to program the frequesncies into another phone, and it is possible for all cordless and cell phones, then there's another level of joy.

Response to: Picking Up Neighbors Conversations Posted April 26th, 2005 in General

See you're doing it the hard way. If all you want to do is listen go get yourself a scanner. My buddies and I had one in our dorm room, let me tell you there's a lot of conversations happening that people don't want you to hear. Picking up phone sex was the best.

Well maybe, and this is just a wild ass guess, you should try and do your own work. Plus you don't know if you can trust anyone on here to give you a straigt answer. So do your own work and stop bothering us with this trivial stuff.

Well right. Unless a school policy is broken or a law. There's always kinks in the armor. Just remember, never rape anyone ever. It never turns out good.

Response to: Tenure Posted March 10th, 2005 in Politics

I agree to a point. However when a professor has tenure he is virtually bullet proof. And sometimes they deserve to be canned. I don't mean for things that thay may have said, but rather for their lack of teaching ability. Profs need to be able to speak their mind without fear of retribution from the govt. But if they can't teach and are tenured there needs to be a way to show them the door. However if they are say atheist in a Christian school, saying what they feel might arise a whole other list of problems.

Sometimes its best to let a joke be. We all laughed at the Simpsons reference and moved on. There's no need to analize a joke, it ruins it.

Ummm... wrong... what about Heaven? There's no evil in it, but it still exists.

~juraj

Heaven exists with out evil. That is its one defining characteristic. However without Hell there would be no perception of Heaven. Or more frankly without evil there could be no perception of good. Think about it. If something can't be viewed as evil how can it then be seen as good? If there's no comparison then there's no definition in this case.

See now your getting into a whole new debate. The effects of splitting the person and the existance of the soul. But I get what you're going for, its the "in His image" thing. The son isn't the father. They may be alike, but they are compleatly different.

God did create the tree, just as He did everything else. And Satan is a fallen angle. At one point he was the gardian of God and then he wanted God's power so God banished Satan from the heavens. God gave us free will not to toy with us but because he wanted people who would understnad and learn. Not just sheep who do. So there is inherant evil in the world, without it there would be no temptation, no basis for learning. And basically no good, for without one the other can't exist.

US currancy would probably be good. But you might want to check conversion rates before doing an even exchange. You know it may cost $25 there but $12 in the States.

What type of "terrosists" are we talking about here? I have people who hate me, and have vendettas against me. But I would hardly call them terrorists. If that counts then all I need is a bigger and better weapons cache. Care to contribute.
