I've seen this movie before, when it was called The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
Rinse with listerine, keep it in your mouth for a good minute. Go on and really roll your tongue around in it. Then drink water that's been cooling in the fridge for the rest of the day.
Freedom isn't a license for chaos.
China is definitely in a good position. They are not spending a lot on military deployments and are heavily investing into infrastructure and research. They also heavily invest on young talent.
They only take jobs that Americans don't want to do anyway. Such as farm jobs. But most of those are legal migrant workers. Most of the laws in Nevada and other southern states, are to scare these workers away, so the local governing body can say, "look we created job openings for Americans".
Honestly Illegals are just a way to exploit foreign workers. Even in IT, some foreigners with a H1-B get exploited. Nothing like the threat of getting deported for someone to work their asses off for less. And they don't have to be actively exploited.
I use to live in Dearborn, MI. Moderate Muslims are a lot like Moderate.. whatevers. While walking in the park, I overheard 2 men speaking in Arabic. I caught a few words like 'Lions', 'The Packers'. They were talking about the game. They are Americans just like anyone else living here in the USA.
A lot of people are upset about Sharia Law. NPR did a piece on it recently. Basically, when you go and say we are banning Sharia law, It would sound like "we are banning Natural Law" or "God's Law" to a Christian. Or if you're more logically minded, what if someone banned common sense. It is true that it forms the basis for Islamic jurisprudence. But think about how the 10 commandments shaped our current laws.
The problem comes in when Zealots take these vaguely defined 'laws' to their illogical extremes. It's hard to speak out against it, because you're a blasphemer if you do.

Are you sure that's not what that means, because... nevermind.
And don't you realize that if a man joins himself to a prostitute, he becomes one body with her? For the Scriptures say, "The two are united into one."
Wow, Jesus is a manwhore, he shares his body with everyone, even unclean sinners.

I am controlling myself because I am choosing to- I fear God.
I wouldn't call that a choice, I'd call that coercion
I want this site to be awesome and survive for a long time. Which option will give me that?
Also, how would more money help you make more money? I've read that sometimes growing a business too fast can wreck it. I mean, getting VC is like strapping on a warp drive. If you feel the NG can't grow much further to where you want it to be without some extra capitol, then I'd say take it. But if you're still plodding along, and you're happy with what you've got then don't take it.
Also taking VC so you can pay talented artists and programmers just so you can give them some love is probably a bad idea. Although, I can see NG help fund more ambitious projects with VC and the returns could be huge.
Personally, I'm thinking no, if you take VC, NG would probably be a shadow of it's former self.
Addiction is bad if it's porn, World of Warcraft or alcohol. Porn isn't the only culprit for breaking up families, if it's a culprit at all. I'd just generalize that escapism in general can be a problem. Escapism is ok to help you relax or relieve stress, but it's not ok to lose yourself in them and the expense of your personal life. You have to deal with the issues in your life eventually and attack your problems head on.
As for porn giving people the wrong idea about sexuality and relationships, well duh. Porn is fantasy.
