Oh, and here's a close-up of the mermaid-like blue girl. Because it's kind of a pretty face.
And now my propelling pencil is out of leads so I have to drag myself to bed anyway.

Okay, I guess I lied. I have a slight case of insomnia and that's turned into really really wanting to try out that brush I bought.
Anyway, this is the result. All hail short-haired beer-drinking lesbian boobies.

And final for today, number 11:

Again, girl in train.
Yes, I sometimes tend to make people very ugly when I draw them. 5 years of academical teaching and then two years of "Jesus, just do whatever the fuck you want"-'teaching' can do that to a person. This was actually a pretty girl : /

Okay, two more before sleepytime:

Hipster on a traaiinnn
Yes, a lot of my sketches are done on public transport.
The guy on the right is a sketch from memory though, some poor sob sitting on someone's doorstep with a bouquet of yellow flowers in his hands. It was pretty sad.

Number 8.

Again, sketch with potential, but from the moment I saw I was f-cking it up with the arm on the right there, I left it alone.

This one's on the back of the previous page, and it's the one we eventually (semi)settled for.
But, alas, the guy who needed the logo hasn't replied to my messages in two weeks, and I'm afraid I won't get paid for any of this.
Learn from my mistakes, children.

Thanks for all the kind comments!

The next page is something slightly different, some guy asked for a logo for his metalcore/deathcore band. He didn't give any directions apart from 5 other very different logo's, so I kind of had to guess my way through it.
It was a long time ago since I tried to do something typography-like..

It is very considerate though slightly belittling to actually link to his wikipedia page. Also, tell that to my brother. I don't think he often realises he has a phone.

Okay, next page. 5.
This one isn't exactly worthy of posting, really, but I promised. It's a very early sketch and I couldn't bring myself to start with the details, because I wanted to make this one really good and visually interesting. I still don't know how.. This drawing has been sitting in this stage in my sketchbook for a good few weeks now, and has somehow reached some kind of 'untouchable' status in my mind and I'm afraid it'll never get finished. Good example of the counter-productive kind of perfectionism..
So, if anyone has any suggestions on what to use to finish this piece, please tell me. Hopefully it'll give me my drive to work on it back.

Um.. When I stop being such a retard and stop waiting for my site to somehow magically improve to the point of perfection before I start posting regularly.. So, go figure.
No, honestly, I'm kind of getting tired of my own indecisiveness, so I think I'm just going to post my comics as I have them, regardless of if I'm completely pleased with the site. I'll let you know when I get to that.

Response to: Morthagg makes things. Posted March 22nd, 2011 in Art

Ah yes! A thousand credits and kisses and awkward physical contacts to my lil' bro Breaktroll, who introduced me to this site and bugged me so long I kind of made a profile to get rid of his nagging.
But I'm thankful!

And the leg of the jumping dude.. Myeah, something's wrong with it. Oh, it's not really his butt showing though, it's meant to be a hipfatty flopping over his pants. But yes, I agree with that.

And that's my biggest problem: finishing things. When I'm coming close to finishing something, I just block and go "shit, better stop before I ruin it" :D Maybe I'll try though.

Page nùmero tres: jumpity.
The reason this was shaded is all thanks to Newgrounds, really. I was sick and tired of my drawings just staying line art because I was convinced I sucked at shading, while there are some very nicely shaded drawings here. So I tried it again. And now I can't stop. augh

Next page (I flipped it to save you from straining a muscle) are some sketches of a character for the wonderful Project Denovo, of which I'm part. Mr. Mob Boss apparently only has two emotions: cynicism and anger.
For better quality and detail: Dumpity

Oh, and the finished bosses, if you like:
Dumpity cynical
Dumpity angry

I was thinking about making my own art thread for a while now, but I kept putting it off because I'm not good enough to make this a tread in which people just come to gawk over the art, but I'm not total crap either and I probably won't bloom into a pretty flower by all the suggestions given to me in this thread. I'm already kind of rusted stuck in my drawing habits. Sad, sad.
But the truth is this site has given me a lot of inspiration ever since I joined it (which wasn't that long ago) and I bet I could get at least a tiny bit better by the artistic insights given here. I'd appreciate them greatly, of course.

I decided to start this thread by, from now on, posting everything I draw in the sketchbook I bought about a month ago. Even the things I'd rather hide. That'll teach me to try and finish something, at least.

Also, I tend to ramble. You noticed? Here's the first page of my sketchbook! Selfportrait on a train.

Every day thats not women's day is men's day.

But I too want a day in which I can belittle half the human population by giving them 'special attention' based on their funparts.

@ Kraig/Lux - You have a point, but there must be some line between "Ooh, that make sense" and "Lol you are being ridiculous this is stupid". This is way past the ridiculous line. I see what you are saying... but the concept of paying so much for a really stupid piece is just.... mind-blowing, I guess. It makes me wonder how gullible people are.

I was just honestly confused that someone would still make a statement like that, especially someone who's somewhat interested in art. Jackson Pollock made his art 60 years ago. Still saying "derp this is a stupid piece and anyone can make this" is so easy and frankly, kind of stupid. Once again, it was made more than half a century ago, I think people are past the question "is this art".
Also, they're obviously not paying for a canvas smudged with paint, they're paying for an image, a set of ideals, the name of the artist, history and a reflection of the rebellion in art back in those days.
When people pay $350,000 for Michael Jackson's glove, they're not buying a pretty sparkly glove.. They're buying Michael Jackson's glove. Same, just with less ideals and such.

Haha, Manzoni, loveable bastard.

But anyhow, taking a dump on a canvas is not going to do a lot these days, that was just hot shit (pun.. semi-intended) back in the 60's and 70's. 80's maybe. The problem is it's very hard to stay with current art and artforms because it always takes a few years before we realise what the fuck they were doing.

.. Darwin I'm really awful at things like these. I'm just going for something journal-like, I don't like descriptions and I'm not good at catchy one-liners. I hope they're not too long.
Alien Robot Apocalypse: "June's dad is dead. He fell on something when this wall collapsed. They came out of nowhere, three hours ago. I don't think we made them.. I don't think we're the only city either."
Flight: "The air is a permanent shade of grey. I've lost feeling of time. Still no sign of other survivors. Not even animals. The world is cold and white and silent."

I don't like explanations.

You are really, really good. Seriously. I like everything you made so far, especially the war-scene. I don't really understand the people saying the heart should go. Come on. It finishes the damn drawing.
Your art has a comic-y feel to it, but a high-standing and good comic-y feel, that I adore. Awesome, and visually very strong.

Response to: Is Having Even A Little Bit... Posted March 6th, 2011 in Art

Being proud of something you made is obviously not a bad thing, unless that pride is preventing you from improving or taking any form of critique.
Honestly, I'm not often totally happy something I made. I can be proud of the work I put in something or the ideas I have, but I constantly see the flaws in my own work and there are very few pieces with which I'm unquestionably satisfied.
If people are trolling you by giving you overly negative rates and yelling you can't take any form of critique, how annoying they might be, they probably have some kind of point. And dude..
"I won't get butt-hurt or act childish (anymore)" looks like kind of a lie when I see your further reactions. You are being really vain, and yes, you are a mediocre artist that can still improve a lot. When people say you should study regular human anatomy before taking on a specific style.. they're fucking right. I don't see why you'd get so pissed about it.
