Ehhhhhhere is a little thing I made. A Red Sonja vs. Conan role swap, basicly. I uh, was at McDonalds so I couldn't really reference their swords.
I tried giving Conan a kind of male version of a chain main bikini top but my brain kept screaming that it didn't make sense (for neither men or women) and it looked to much like a point-and-laugh caricature. So bare chests for everyone.
(I forgot to give Sonja boots, nyeh)

Response to: Male vs Female avatar in our game Posted June 23rd, 2014 in Art

Yeah, as previously said: Don't be afraid to give your female characters some personality, some (facial) features that make it a person, not just "a female". Especially if you male character is as cartoony as yours, take that and use it on her too, she'll look a lot more fun and integrated in the game.

This one.. well, I actually thought of newgrounds, to be honest. Many of the people that send me an email here and there come from here, and I thought that some of you might be able to help me out once more. So, you know, have a read?

Hi guys, have a not very great self-portrait (it's way too elongated, why does this happeennn) to celebrate my triumphant return. To Newgrounds, but also to unemployment. Those two go together well!

Man, it's been so damn long since I tried life drawing again.. I seriously need practice.

That.. Was surprisingly helpful, actually. It's nice to see some practical advice instead of beautifully coloured pictures with something that boils down to "And then slap something like this on there (of course you already need to know what colours go together!)" next to it.

Response to: Thoughts on some of the "art" Posted July 18th, 2013 in Art

Ugh Jesus..
People can make whatever the hell they want to make. If they want to draw porn, let them draw porn. As said before, almost all of that stuff is neatly packed under the "Adult" tag which you can click to ignore all that stuff any time you like. It's your good right. And it's their good right to draw naked people of people having way too many bodily fluids coming out of their sexholes.
If you can't stand the art, ignore it. If you can't stand the idea of that kind of art.. Then I'm afraid Newgrounds isn't really the site for you.

I also don't really get that feeling of needing to ban people who make stuff you don't like... I mean, live and let live and all that.

Guys! Here's my sketch. If I find the time I'll make a decent coloured version of this dude.
The combination was Male-Warrior-Undead-Ice, so I kind of gave him a viking-feel.

I have rolled a character and I have an almost finished sketch already but I don't have a scanner 'till tomorrow so it'll have to wait a moment.

Haha, no sweat. If you're having problems with the feel of photoshop, you can always try and practice more on paper first. Also, I don't encourage the use of soft brushes. It gives a pretty icky feel to me. Try to use hard ones, with the opacity lessened or something.

Looks super cool. Could I ask what kinda brush settings you're using to sketch and in what program? I'm using Photoshop CS5 with a preset soft round brush as 3px with size controlled by pen pressure, and it just feels absolutely horrible.

My brush setting is a 0.7mm B mechanical pencil, used in Real Life Sketchbook. Feels pretty good.

Okay, so after reading this I was writing like a huge irritated rant, but then I had this creeping feeling that a mod had written it before me a long time ago. So let me just say this:
You are an extremely rude prat to helpful people. Your inane fear of cocks is completely and utterly ridiculous and you come across as a homophobe. You really do draw the same shit over and over.
And with those three powers combined, I summon Newgrounds' greatest champion: Captain FuckThisShit. You have lost another person to give you advice.

Kiwi, it's totally okay to accept someone giving you a compliment. I'm happy you decided you should focus on improvement and critique as a primary goal, but you can't really force anyone to give you critique when they feel that they aren't in any place to give some.
So relax and take the compliment, you really are doing a better job and your drawings are improving :)

But if you want some critique: I like what you're doing with the shading, but you should keep in mind that different surfaces have different types of shading. The shading you're doing now looks quite metallic or latex-y, which is good for her superperson-clothes, but should be a little adjusted on skin and hair and such. But you noticed that already, so good for you.
I've made you a guide for shadow and highlights on hair. I've overdone the shadows and highlights a little just to illustrate. Try to avoid shading seperate locks, or otherwise your hair will look a little like plasticine dreadlocks. Generally, hair has a 'crown' of highlights around the top, where the head catches the most light.

Also, would sais count as a short weapon? Or a medium weapon? And if it's not a long weapon, does a pair count for one slot?

Hmm. Well, the idea for a small weapon is that it should more or less fit into a pouch or pocket of some sort. You have different sizes of sai I believe, but since it's kinda lightweight I guess one could count as one small weapon. If you want both, maybe they should count as one large weapon, and you can still choose another smaller one on the side. Or something? Rules are hard. Just choose what you think is right.

Oh, and now I read over it again, specifying underpants and socks is kinda silly, maybe. I also intentionally left out food supplies, but if you want to take it further, look through your pantry and decide which pieces of food (or food containers) you have lying around that you would want to take with you. As a restriction, maybe try to keep the weight of your food under 2kgs (apparently that's about 4,4lbs). This is totally a mini amount, so again, choose wisely.
So: my food! woo.
