yeah that looks better spacewalk. I think it looks faster because since he's larger, he can move from one end of the screen to the other faster.

well your animation is really good, very smooth.

In terms of originality, just have fun with it, experiment. Try things out, and if they don't work, try something else. Using an original character often makes the whole thing seem more original. That said, what you have now is great, but its lacking the imagination that is at the heart of skateboarding/skateboarding animation. Make him pop higher and then slam down or something, I dunno. Its still really awesome.

Marcy, can you post some stuff about 'overdrive' for spacewalk? thats a good technique to know.

top three were sequels, if you count a 17th as a sequel. I liked Story of Khale 2 a lot, and Primal War was also great, haven't played TLS2 yet though. Brawl taunts was slightly amusing but not worth a weekly fifth. Oh well.

yeah it works. As you improve you'll want to sync more and more audio with the animation, so when that happens you'll want to use things with a heavier down beat, but for now its good.

Cronic and FRR, looking awesome! Skating a desert is a pretty clever idea.

Cronic, you're using v-cam, right? I do as well, and I find that to make it look best/most natural, you want the tween to seem as hand held as possible. this makes it make sense. What I sometimes do is just apply that 'S Curve' to every ease in the V-Cam layer, making it look more like actual skate footage. I dunno, you might not like it, but its something to try out if you havent.

Congrats on the pass sistem, one thing you can improve is his fall, the first big ollie he does, he goes in a straight, diagonal line, where as a human's path of movement would ark.

You should watch the first two to get a good sense of how they go, they'll give you some good ideas if you're unsure. Basically its just to animate a unique showcase of flash skateboarding, in which you can choose your own music and do pretty much whatever you want with it.

Marcy just do whatever you feel is best trust me, when you get a group of people voting on what should be done in an individual's animation, it wont turn out as well, because it wont be completely yours.

Whatever you choose, if you present it with confidence, people will enjoy it, because at the end of the day, all johnny options are good, its just personal preference as to which you prefer.

I've been pretty busy finishing up this thing that I've been working on thats almost done. its almost done. I just revamped the menu, now all I need to do is menu music, and then I'm done! After that I'll work on SFC3, of course :)

keosan, if you were to give me the .fla for that, I wouldnt use it. There's hardly any cardboard in it whatsoever, and it doesnt demonstrate any purpose, it just tweens from side to side. I dunno. It isnt in line with the rest of the collab.

Yeah, I think we should just go with 24. 24 is a platform everyone can animate at, and its also a good speed that we'll be able to finish something at. Nothing is less fun than a collab that doesnt happen :)

So how about this? Marcy, I love your menu, but could we use a different stage size? I find 720x480 works really well because its BIG, and you dont have to squeeze anything in because there's plenty of room. Obviously we should make a few changes to the menu, with changes in animators and everything.

And who's going to lead it? I know cronic organized the last two and I wouldnt feel right about doing it if he wants to, so cronic, its up to you. If you want to do it, awesome, but if you dont want to, I'm definitely up for it.

I'll post some specs later on if cronic would rather me lead it.

that pretty much sums it up folks. Sistem, you shouldnt be leading a collab if you have to rely too heavily on the other participants. also, the 50 frames idea has been done before, three times.

24 is the standard, thats what I vote for. Anything less seems too slow and anything more takes too long to animate.

Sadly, he was skating a hill and screwed up his face and stuff, his braces went through his lip and something happened to his hip as well I think, so thats why he hasnt posted much lately. But yeah, he's still here.

I took a bunch of snaps when the score was at 4.00 (WOW) but now its gone down to 3.78, but hey, thats still pretty sweet!
