I see.

Looks rather nice, fetching indeed. you could go way farther with the details though, not that leaving them out is a bad thing either, but try pointalism shading in some areas, and individual hairs on his back.

good luck!

dont color it, not because its not worth it, but because you should do a ridiculous amount of awesome pen skill with it, like shade it with crosshatching a fair bit, and then smudge some more shading in other places with a pencil, then use a slightly thicker pen in some areas to show, I dunno, depth and such, and THEN post it back up so we can help decide whether or not you color it. :)

lol, dont make a fuzz about it.

I realized that, I'll update it.

my name is written in short [moro] vertically on some of the windows. its hard to see, which takes less away from the drawing.

Topic: How do you guys do it?

Posted: 05/13/07 09:23 AM

Forum: Art

well, if you use the pencil instead of the brush tool, you can write in the little "pencil size" box that you want the line to be 0.25. Then you get it really thin, and since it's the pencil it stays consistent throughout the whole drawing. Personally, I use the brush because I like the way the size varies, but if you want a thin, good line, use the pencil.

Another thing you could do would be to just use a slightly larger brush stroke, and zoom in to 200%. That way it would also stay consistent, and it would look more like a brush stroke.

Hope I've been able to help a bit!

Topic: Question about Drawing Tablets

Posted: 05/10/07 07:34 PM

Forum: Art

I've been using a tablet for quite a while now. Im not sure what you mean about the replication of the computer screen, but if you mean that the area of the tablet controls that of the whole screen, then you can change the settings to your please. I personally have it so that the area I can write on with my table controls the whole screen, and not the section of the screen that is the exact size of the tablet. if you set it to the latter, it seems (to me) like you can't do as much detail, but its the artist's choice in the end, and different settings are better for different people.

Tablets ARE really amazing for artistical talents, but they take a little while to get used to, so be prepared to relearn the basics if you do decide to get one.

hope I've helped!

Topic: How come?

Posted: 03/26/07 06:02 PM

Forum: General

Sorry to all the moderators who are scornfully reading this and saying tisk tisk to themselves, but I have to ask: Why aren't we, the people of newgrounds, allowed to complain? Dont you think it could ultimately benefit the site as a whole if instead of just banning everyone (which seems to currently happen) left and right, the staff looked at the complaints and see that they either get responded to or frowned apon. I read a few of the BBS rules, I didnt really care to read all of them, and one of them-oh. well. Just read the one about complaining or boasting about any sorta ban or anything. Well, then. I seem to be breaking a rule.
I dunno, it just seems to me that in trying to make sure Newgrounds is top notch in every way, you [the staff] are making more enemies than you need to. People don't judge NG by the reviews people give the animations, they judge NG on the quality of the animation, etc. and just think to themselves that that person [the reviewer in question] is a bad reviewer. Every site is going to have people who are cynical and just downright hateful, but everyone, EVERYONE has something to add to the site.
Feel free to lock this thread, ban me, delete this thread, ban me, systematically take out my account, ban me, or anything. I dont go on the BBS much anyways. Taking out my account is a bit unreasonable, but if you feel it's necessary, go ahead. You will have proven the entire message of the post.

lol, this DOES, kinda belong in the how to forum section, but since you've already posted it here, I might as well answer.

I've been scanning stuff in a lot lately, so what I'd suggest doing would be to (firstly, get a scanner, if you dont have one) and then scan the gun or whatever into photoshop. I dont think you can scan directly into flash, so thats prolly your best bet. After that, save it, and go into flash and import the drawing, make the drawing into a symbol, and in the symbol, break it apart and get rid of all the white extra stuff around the drawing. Then you can animate the gun drawing easily.

Hope I've helped a bit!

Nah, Jon, your reboot submission was very cool, I liked it a lot. I just meant that it was really unusual to see four people in the popular artists, and less incredibly high scoring submissions.

I'm relatively new here, and from my perspective it just seemed as though the daily features have always had 4s. It is really nice to see some new artists though, its a welcome break from the seemingly perfect brackenwood stuff.

I'm starting to worry for NG a bit, they have all these wicked monthly contests and all, but like, no ones submitting anything. And a daily 5th with 3.27???? I need to submit somemore stuff. Again. No offence to bovar20 tho, I just thought that daily stuff is supposed to get "awesome/blue" scores, not green. I'll be sad if I ever see a daily 5th in the 2s.
