IM BAACCKKK!

queens was awesome. totally awesome place filled with awesome people and loads of fun. I had a great time. I did a bunch of parkour which was also fun. Still can't backflip like you though mraw! :)

marcy, wicked longboard, I really want to get one, they're great. super cool for just cruising around and carving.

things seem to be going pretty well here, loved Bel Air, lochie! Quiet professional and talenty. Sistem, the reason the thread has been quieter is probably because people are doing things outside of newgrounds, everyone's slowly wrapping up school, so maybe thats a part of it.

anyways, good to be back, love you all <3 <3

I hope to start getting to work on it this week. I will only have time to work on it at school probably. Is there a due date I should watch out for?

yes, be sure to have your parts in by winter 2010, as I will be at the vancouver olympics so I can sequence all the parts.

I dont think that made a bit of sense at all.

Plus Morrow and Nick just kickass, and I would love to be in a collab with you guys :D

well thanks! You're not so bad yourself ;)

I still don't like the music, but I guess I'm the onlyone, so i can/have to live with this music...

haha, okay, I'll make an alternate version with different music just for you then :) What music would you like?

At 5/8/08 11:46 AM, biskits wrote: What is that i hear you cry? you want to post a preveiw of the parts added together?

No, absolutely not, never, EVER.

Not now not later. and you better not ask again, cause the answer will be EXACTLY THE SAME.

Sorry for my absence, guys. I did make a preview though, it looks pretty nice, I like it. I'm definitely going to redo the intro though, my intro, because I really dont like it.
What do you guys think of how synced to the music it is? I thought that was pretty cool, myself.

I'm going to scatter my parts throughout and their all going to be centric to one character on a walk in a nice down town environment, to sort of have an underlying storyline alive underneath all the awesome animation you've all done. Seriously, great work guys. Im continually impressed.

Vincoid, your part is great, it works, I added the title onto it because it seemed like a fitting thing to do.

All in all we've got 101 seconds of animation so far, and the song is around 5 minutes, so stay on it, cardboard city-dwellers. Of course, we don't need to fill the whole thing, frankly it seems a bit ambitious to me, but you know, the more we have, ... the more we'll have! And the nicer it will be, of course. :)

I had to Savefile it because it's 5.81 MB, which is too much for spamtheweb to handle. So I think we'll keep whole collab previews to a minimum, but I'll still do them every so often. Or, you know, when biskitz complains :D

Im away tuesday to friday, so don't come looking for me, because... I wont be around. Again, great work everyone!

New people reading this, feel free to join in! We've still got plenty of spots!

Response to: The Food Collab! Posted May 18th, 2008 in Game Development

I will MOST DEFINITELY take part in this, after all, Booglez, you ARE the king of four letter word collabs beginning with F. (Face, now Food?!) Right now I don't have any time but I'll try to get something before the 23rd.

Response to: -Skate Flash Club- Posted May 18th, 2008 in Clubs & Crews

yeah that looks better spacewalk. I think it looks faster because since he's larger, he can move from one end of the screen to the other faster.

Lochie, I LOOOVVEE that photo animation. it's awesome. seriously, AWESOME. I want to try that!

Response to: -Skate Flash Club- Posted May 14th, 2008 in Clubs & Crews

well your animation is really good, very smooth.

In terms of originality, just have fun with it, experiment. Try things out, and if they don't work, try something else. Using an original character often makes the whole thing seem more original. That said, what you have now is great, but its lacking the imagination that is at the heart of skateboarding/skateboarding animation. Make him pop higher and then slam down or something, I dunno. Its still really awesome.

Marcy, can you post some stuff about 'overdrive' for spacewalk? thats a good technique to know.

Response to: Top entries from 05/13/2008! Posted May 14th, 2008 in P-bot's Postings

top three were sequels, if you count a 17th as a sequel. I liked Story of Khale 2 a lot, and Primal War was also great, haven't played TLS2 yet though. Brawl taunts was slightly amusing but not worth a weekly fifth. Oh well.

Good week!

Response to: -Skate Flash Club- Posted May 13th, 2008 in Clubs & Crews

yeah it works. As you improve you'll want to sync more and more audio with the animation, so when that happens you'll want to use things with a heavier down beat, but for now its good.

Response to: -Skate Flash Club- Posted May 13th, 2008 in Clubs & Crews

Cronic and FRR, looking awesome! Skating a desert is a pretty clever idea.

Cronic, you're using v-cam, right? I do as well, and I find that to make it look best/most natural, you want the tween to seem as hand held as possible. this makes it make sense. What I sometimes do is just apply that 'S Curve' to every ease in the V-Cam layer, making it look more like actual skate footage. I dunno, you might not like it, but its something to try out if you havent.

Congrats on the pass sistem, one thing you can improve is his fall, the first big ollie he does, he goes in a straight, diagonal line, where as a human's path of movement would ark.

haha, cool.

I dont get why all british people dont just move to Canada, not only would you guys all be twice as rich, but you'd also be slightly more than twice rich, because the canadian dollar is lower than the american one. Pretty smart move I'd say. :P

I'd like to come to britain some time. Hang out with Nicholas Deary and stuff.

YA! Sorry, I forgot to PM you. We're all starting out on SFC3, the third installment of the Skate Flash Collabs.

Specs

550x350
24 FPS

You should watch the first two to get a good sense of how they go, they'll give you some good ideas if you're unsure. Basically its just to animate a unique showcase of flash skateboarding, in which you can choose your own music and do pretty much whatever you want with it.

Dont forget to post previews, we all love previews. :)

there will potentially be a new submission from me today.

Well.. Umm.. I got a duck?

Having a duck is totally more amazing than not having a duck. I wish I had one :)

Did you like, find it? or did you get it at a pet shop or something? In any case, its very cool.

Marcy just do whatever you feel is best trust me, when you get a group of people voting on what should be done in an individual's animation, it wont turn out as well, because it wont be completely yours.

Whatever you choose, if you present it with confidence, people will enjoy it, because at the end of the day, all johnny options are good, its just personal preference as to which you prefer.
