Socialized medicine does not allow the government to deny health care.
The doctors are in charge of medicine in this country, with our system of socialized care & our ICU wards work damn hard to save people. We also have palitive care wards...places where people who have cancer & other infirmities that cannot be treated by any know method & save their lives so they concentrate on making their time left as pleasant as possible... if as you say the government , if in control would just end your life, why isn't that practice going on here ?
While I will not deny there ae some sick fucks out there who have made it through medical school & would experiment on anyone just to satisfy some sick fuckin' mental need & or for the money !
But they are the 'exception' & not the rule when it comes to medical personel.
With docotrs in control , they are going to do all they can to save lives...its what they do, Its why they became medical people in the first place .
Doctors are in control of what takes place in reguard to care of patients in this country, & government doesn't dictate to them who lives & who dies !

What if an all omniputent power is only viewing/creating the universe on a galactic scale, with any or all life simply as observable to god as micro organisms are to us...I mean you can see them if you have the right equipment & then peer down into this microscopic world .
With religions...all religions, it is about control of persons.
Control of their behavior.
Control of their thoughts (or at least attempted control)
Plus the acquisition of wealth for the church, which is controled by a very small group of people.
Blaming god, for the stupidity inherent in many people , is IMO akin to blaming the sun for being hot, the rain for being wet ... the real blame belongs simply to mankind in general, our nature, which is for the most part driven by those who want power & control over others & the many others who want answers to questions that still have never been answered, but they take comfort in the words of others long dead, that promise us paradise...if only we shut up & do what we're told unconditionally. Armed with this they can face each day secure with their"knowledge" that all will someday be right.
That's a mankind flaw...not a god flaw.

Actually the Battle of Britain was over & Britian had survived, Germany's attempt to bomb her into submission & then invade. It was after this when America realised that Britian would survive that they decided to help out & back Britian.(Germay's sinking of an American passenger liner with a large loss of American lives helped as well.

Actually we have a police force called the R.C.M.P.(Royal Canadian Mounted Police) but they are not the only police force in Canada. There are also regular police forces, as well as some Provincial police forces like OPP (Ontario Provincial Police) & in Newfoundland there is the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary.

So there's just a couple of things you can do on the beach...& I don't find any of them boring.
I would like to point out,
If the temperature never goes below 33 degrees farenheit, ice can't form & neither can snow flakes !
so I don't know how many of you have slept outside in a tent when the temperature is "near" freezing. But I sure wouldn't call it warm.
This little planet was so hot at one time no life at all existed. So mellow, chill out (pun intended) what is effecting the ice at the poles has happened before if it hadn't, they would never have discovered the remains of forests in Antarctica.

Home isn't just a piece of dirt with buildings etc. on it, where you live . I've been to many places I would much rather live , it is my family, my extended family that keep me in this frozen hell hole...but that doesn't stop me from vacationing abroad ;)

I have always felt that this is how it should be.
THere should be VERY CLEAR INFORMATION PUT OUT TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC...that your church will not be forced to marrying same sex couples , if you (the members & clergy) decide you don't want to !
I have heard many people (including my own mother) get all freaked out when the same sex marriage rights were granted to same sex couples here in Canada. June 28 2005 the House of Commons made it legal & my mom & many others were all saying the same thing .....That's going to destroy the church & families ! ! ! !

There's supposedly a lot of problems with the longhorn beetles getting into our pine & other softwood trees in & around the port of Halifax...supposedly they are hitching rides from Asia on shipping containers & wood dunage (used to pack pallets & containers etc.)
So yeah, the beetles are a bit of a pain for us right now ;)

Actually there are some important differences.
You don't 'shed all of your hair. Animals with fur do shed their coats & grow new ones. Some like Arctic Foxes, & Hares, actually change color when their coats change !

As a rigger we have much of the equipment that serious climbers use, including ascenders , racks for dropping people or heavy equipment from height to lower levels wiith complete control.
Dynamic & static ropes as well as work ropes, proper full body rigging harness's complete with tool belts & because movies often require work at cliff edges etc. we have all the bolts, cam's, rock nut's, belays etc.
On a job a couple of years ago our security guards for the facility were all Unversity students & wanted us to go out to Cape Blomindon To rock climb...we as a group of 8 riggers , & like it was one person ,all paused and asked pretty much together...."Who's going to pay our rate to do that ? "
You see, just because we can do it, doesn't mean we will do it.... not unless you 've got $35.00 an hour, food service & are prepared for overtime etc . :)
