I grew up with my dad playing 'Roy Orbison tunes. He was a big fan.
The day I came home and Dad told me Roy had formed a new band and he bought the c.d. - Come in and listen to Roy and his band the 'Wilberies he said. Dad had no idea who the other musicians were, He heard of the 'Beatles' but didn't associate the name george harrison, and he knew of Dylan , but they were all nobody's to dad , it was all about Roy to him. It made me laugh, still does.
But I do like Roy tunes to this day.
when those of you speak of grossness, and blood ,not being able or wanting to rip into the bloody carcasses, how horrible etc.
We are all at our computer's ,probably warm and fed.
now put you a weeks walk out in the wilderness with no food, and no knowledge of edible plant life, out walks a rabbit you can kill with a stone . Your going to be killing and eating. There is an old saying "hunger is a great sauce" if your hungry enough you'll kill it and eat it, that's just the way it is..

For the love of... THE FREEZING POINT OF ETHANOL IS -114 DEGREES CELSIUS
and yes, there are things you can add to gasoline and diesel to lower the freezing point. It's just not economical to offer all fuel with that additive already in it
;
that's why I put it may be better for the alcohol based fuels in the colder climes in my first post:o

All fuels oils and fluids have problems in extreme heat and extreme cold, if manufactures have figured out how to put additives in all of the current vehicles to keep the fluids at the right viscocity then isn't it reasonable to assume something could be figured out for this fuel type?
:)
The idiocy is They haven't figured out and additive that works now for gas or diesel.
So why the fu-- do you think a magic solution to this is going to suddenly appear when it's not available now. so youare making an assumption that is WRONG
This type of cold in some of the lower western canadian area's we got maybe 10 million cars/trucks . You go making that every where in Central /western U.S. how much more energy will it take to plug in a What conservative estimate on Yankee cars and trucks 100 million. That's a huge electrical need , haven't you just about maxed yourselves on electrical need versus, electrical output.
I was thinking on that type of problem, I know that my next vehicle is going to be diesel just because of the availablity of a conversion kit.
My screen is 32 and 1/2 .........................................Centimeters.
The 32 and a half sounds big at first .( I grabbed a metric tape), so its only fair to put the centimeters in. This unit is my lap top so it's a 15 inch screen, my home system is a 17 inch or a whopping 37 1/2 centimeters.
But what happens to a vehicle thats parked outside in the winter?
Vegetable oil gets thicker when its chilled. So does that mean a possible -Heated fuel tank- or maybe a blend of diesel/corn oil?
It just seems to me that they might be better off in colder climates to use the alcohol based fuels ,because they don't freeze in winter. In Canada in a lot of Western and Arctic communities they have to plug their vehicles into a electric outlet to keep the engines heated or they can't be started because diesel and gas start to gel. So if a vegetable oil, gels at lower temperatures, more places will be affected- you see where I'm going ....
your subject title 'Wonderbread is the shit' I think you need to take out the word 'the'
You should try something that's good for you as well as good tasting. There is no dietary goodness in White bleached flour. That is why so many 'white ' breads are 'Enriched' with vitamins. Try a milti grain bread or any Bakery breads with whole wheat , rye, anything is better than Chemical bread. But if you are a die hard 'White Bread' lover try buying the White breads that are made from non-bleached flour.
most of the smaller bakeries make those healthy types of breads, try one of those with your peanut butter. You'll be doing your body a large favor

I know Gates is one of the richest people on the planet , but 8 trillion dollars in debt is a fair chunk of change. What is the G.N.P. of the U.S. in a year? The idea of balancing the U.S's books to bring down the dept. sounds like a good idea. It's the fact that the waste in gov. spending if it was controled/stopped would probably be able to pay that down without changing how the country presently opperates. or no?

The scary thing about that is; China is the biggest buyer of U.S. Government stocks and bonds at the moment.
;
That sounds like a formula to get a third world war going, scary shit !
But when a stocks price falls it is the buyer who loses not the seller. Or do countries not have the same up and down stocks like in regular business?

Remember that the astronauts are in free fall in outer space, to give you an idea on how hard useing a screw driver is in that envoirment put some thing with a couple of screws in it underwater in say the deep end of a pool. dive down and try to unscew it by hand.
As for the pencil sharpener in it's box , that would probably be workable if it had a little door to keep the shavings in when you removed the pencil.
the system works pretty good the way it is, the whistle blower is there for the stolen and inappropriate stuff. While the entries you consider crap, don't stay around very long if other's agree with you.The system that is being used now is about as fair as you will find anywhere. So if " It ain't broke, don't fix it"

Is it just nations that are owed? Or does the U.S. borrow from big business, like say, you make some high tech missle like the patriot or something like that ,and it sells for a $100,000.00 a pop and you get a 1000 of them , so you owe them a 100,000,000.00 they pay half up front. the goverment is in debt to that business for $ 50,000,000.00 plus interest . Wouldn't that a portion of the 8 trillion, on top of the suppliers of planes and Ships etc?

Chris Rock said it best when he said "There will never be a cure for Cancer or AIDS. Why? Because there's to much money in selling medication to treat those diseases." Pharmaceutical companies make more money selling treatments than they do cures... cure the most epidemic disease out there and all of the sudden the prices of treatment and cure drugs drop like a fucking rock because there isn't much demand for them. You would loose a lot of business that way.

For that matter look at the cold and flu, they make billions of dollars on helping you 'feel better' while the cold or flu runs its course. Why would anyone want to develope a pill you take, to make it go away tomorrow, no profit in that, better to sell you a pack of neocitron, a bottle of cough suppressent and a box of kleenex
So that next month they get to sell it to you again, and again-the bastards-
Actually the invention of battery pak cordless tools is a direct result of Nasa's repair's needing to be done in space. They needed the ability to drill and unscrew/screw and not take as long as it would by hand. So they developed cordless tools that are everywhere now. That's fairly smart.
And when a pencil gets dull you need to sharpen it ,creating dust and waste in your clean environment.
Just look at recently recorded history, in the last 50 years people with cancer have gone from a cancer dianosis being a death sentence, to a respectable survival rate and it seems to be improving all the time. There has been 2 cancer problems in my immediate family in the last 10 years. My mother had skin cancer in several places she had it removed 1 spot kept reoccuring they did radiation treatments and she has been cancer free for about 5 years. My wife survived ovarian cancer she had surgery and chemo therapy and she is healthy and cancer free for about 9-10 years although she's my ex now.
That in itself shows me that research is helping and we may be lucky enough to see a cure in our life time. After all small pox and polio, as well as tuberculosis used to devastate us and now-a-days they are almost always cured.
So the cure for cancer is taking a long time, don't let it get you down. There are many people all over the world looking to find the cures, that's right cures it is not going to be just a single cure because there are many different types of cancer.
What is the purpose of Ramadan? I understand it's about fasting, and denial of drinking as well. My brother was in Morrocco a couple of years ago during Ramadan and he said that everything was pretty much closed in the day time -with a few western hotels with open cafes ,but at night everthing opens and everyone is eating and drinking and socializing even the children are up late. So is it just a day time fast ? or is it different for seperate peoples -Morrocan muslims do one thing, Saudi muslems do another, Palistinian etc?

We call them Kliks around here, so instead of driving at 62.5 miles per hour, we're doing a 100 kliks.
And even though we have been 'metric' for years if you go to a lumber yard it's still 2x4's and 2x8's you buy a 4ftx8ft sheet of plywood, but tape measures come in 3 styles ,metric, standard(feet and inches), as well as both metric one side standard on the other side. Haven't met anyone who can say why both metric and standard nuts and bolts are sold side by side. It means you need 2 sets of tools to be able to work on equipment here. Most american made stuff is standard, imported from else where is usually metric. But there is canadian made that can be standard or metric, it gets confusing sometimes.
At 4/30/05 10:20 AM, bcdemon wrote: Heh, don't worry, even here in Canada we have some back-ass-ward liquor laws aswell. Generally, you can't buy beer/liquor in your average corner store here, although there are exceptions, Quebec has alcohol in corner stores, and I know in some rural communities the BC gov will allow some stores to sell alcohol.
So one day I was visiting one of these rural communities (Sicamous BC, houseboat capitol of Canada) and thought some beers would go down nicely. So I made my way down to the local grocer/clothing/alcohol store in hopes of grabbin some coolies. It was approx 6:10 PM when I entered the store, grabbed a 2-4 (box of 24 beers) and made my way to the counter. The clerk then informed me I could not buy the beer, I giggle and told him I had ID, he told me it wasn't the ID, it was teh time. Although the BC government said they could sell alcohol, the Sicamous council said they are only allowed to sell it from 10AM to 6PM. Needless to say, I went without.
You will find the same type of law over in Newfoundland, but what a very nice local lady told me was I should buy 'groceries' you place a dozen beer in a brown paper bag -voila- groceries, pay the nice lady and off you go.
The goverment here in Nova Scotia a couple of years ago allowed the breweries and wineries to sell the products they make where they make them. So even on Sunday(gasp) you can get a cold beer or bottle of wine at one of these places. And you would not believe how many micro brewing establishments opened up.

I wonder , how do you approach the fact that -People who are members of a political party that hold elected office- are not to be held accountable for their actions while in office?
To hold an office accountable for the actions of members , may help to stop the shoddy practices that are being revealed. REMEMBER; it is extremely difficult to make a canadian politician who is elected to a ruling government accountable for their actions...
Some times it springs to my mind that an attack at the party level causes the party to 'get rid ' of the offending party Quicker than any vote, it is often public outcry or political infighting that speeds the removal of a disgraced member.
Remember everyone has the right to E-mail any member of parliment, express your dissatisfaction before an election is called. It is public record and as that old saying goes the squeeky wheel gets the grease.

Well Canada has a large French population , we will take any of the survivors and be able to help them out ...again.
The idea of an organization where all countries have a voice is a great idea.
And then there is the reality of some members having more say than others.
Countries with horrible human rights issues ,still being allowed to participate.
The power that such an organization could use for the good of all-while as it is it's almost powerless.
So the idea was good
implementation of the idea (probably because it was put together by politicians) is bullshit
I would like to see the decriminalization of pot.

religion was created by man , to control other men.( this of course means women too) You look at early cultures and there were religions, animal worship, The Sun , the stars were seen by many early human's in very separate area's to be "Devine" . But know matter what you look at , there was a priesthood , or prophet's , and their followers formed the basis for organizing (in my belief) the gullible. It is still going on today, and the U.S. is one of the worst, your evangelical ,& T.V. vangelists- Supposedly spreading the word of God, being able to perform "miracles" , and everyone of them stateing basicly the same thing ' god's all powerful and listens to me. god can save you & I have gods ear. Our prayers will get through ,without us, yours won't.
but most important in all of their messages is "God is Poor"- now I have never ever heard one of them say "god is poor" its just that he must be, because everyone of them want you to send -Them(gods right hand man) money! Lot's & Lot's of money. Some of them ask you to send them all you can even if it hurts you financially.
Some of them even suggest that by paying into them all you can, they can get you into Heavin. It's sick and in my mind should be as illegal as any other form of fraud.

When I went to high school no meant harder. You know, you and your girl friend would be doing this and that , then the moaning , and then no, oh god no. and that meant you were to do it harder. Now I'm not sure if that also was true in French. I also don't know any terrorists but I don't think many of them are into having much fun.
Why do you want people to convert to your religion. & Why would the extremists think that forcing someone to go along with their beliefs is good for the faith.
I mean if people don't wish to be involved in a/your religion why not leave them be. you go on doing what you do ,and they do the same.
