It just seems everyone is onto mass transit, smaller cars, electric/alternative cars, etc. & it just is not a possibility for what I do.
It's not like I'm not trying, going out & buying a small brand new Pontiac wave 2 years ago...was my first attempt.
Getting to pick up other crew so it's not everyone comes to work in one vehicle helps as well.

If people would actually commit to not using gas when reasonably plausible, demand for vehicular gasoline would plummet, and gas prices would become more reasonable for people like you who actually need it.

On an up note my brother & I are going to try to make our own bio diesel.
We have 4 resturants that have green lit us to start taking their used cooking oil.
We are going to do a couple of 5 gallon test batches & see if it's worth getting into.
And if we are capable of doing it, plus it will give us an idea on what it costs to convert.
Even if we just use it in our furnaces, we'll take his house ,my house & hopefully Mom & Dad out of the heating oil nightmare....prices are just over a buck a liter for home heating

My commute to the city of Halifax & home is in excess of 125 kilometers.
I do not work a regular 9-5 type job, but I do commute all over the Maritimes to work.
I am required by Law to have the proper Rigging Harnesses to work.
I am required by law to have a system to be able to effectively do 'high angle Rescue' in case one of us falls & is hanging in their harness !
My rigging kit bag weighs in at about 60 lbs.
My high angle rescue kit bag weighs even more.
I carry a measuring Laser, & 4 way marking Laser, tape measures, hand tools , extra ropes ,pulleys caribiners, rope grabs & ascenders....Just how the FUCK Elfer, am I suppose to get that on a bike?

I have bought a small car , I use it when I can... it can carry all the above mentioned gear & burns about 1/3 the gas as my 3/4 ton truck....But what about yesterday when my rigging job required all the stuff listed above & a 25 foot high scaffold tower, 2- 36 foot ladders, 25 pulleys, 25pcs. of 100 foot ropes, all the hardware needed to hang the pulleys ?

I had no choice but to use my truck.

I seen a piece in the local paper a couple days ago , This guy wants to try putting small nuclear reactors in the North where the small communities are very dependant on oil. He says that the small plants that are used on Submarines would have the power to light/heat 7000 homes for a year. Would only need re-fueling like once a year or so.
I don't know if that means a community with half that many places for example would get twice as much time between re-fueling .
Seeing as heating fuel here in Nova scotia is at $1.18 cents a liter....& it's a hell of a lot more expensive up North; it makes sense to me.
After all they have been doing this on Ships & Subs for years, the technology is already figured out.

Those are the only 2 left from a package I got in New Orleans last year. I have never before seen packages with hot, hoter , & really damn hot sauce plus the bottle of green Jalapeno sauce & Worcestershire Sauce all in the same package before... so I just had to get one. Plus they had this aged hot sauce called 'Death Head Sauce " I also seen that you had to sign a waiver to purchase & it came with warning labels etc.

All the Panola Hot sauces were really nice, good flavor, not just burn.
The Death Head stuff, well that isn't something you can just put str8 on something. it needs to be used in small amounts & into big dishes... it is so hot it makes a kind of ringing in the background of your hearing, & you get an immediate flush to your face & neck (good times). Not for the faint of heart for sure.

If you guys look at the cleaver closely you may be able to see that the cutting edge is slightly curved
; so you can use it for mincing just rocking it & it never totally (when you catch on) lifts off the cutting board & so you can slice & dice very quickly.

Proteas, I have a great wet bath diamond blade sharpener that I use for my lathe tools. It also has a stone I have on a grinder that is used for the gouges, really expensive for a sharpener system, at over $ 250.00 but since my Robert Sorby Lathe tools start at 175.00 & go up from there, I figured I might as well invest in the right gear to keep them sharp.... never occured to me to use them for knives.
My favorite knife isn't a knife, its a chinese clever, all one piece & it rocks.

The girl friend just asked me what I was doing.... she said that the best knife is her chef knife.....so I included it as well. (please say nice things about it, or don't put it down too much lol)

I live in a small village about 50 kms from halifax & I see the same warships tied up week after week, month after month . I mean what's the use of these damn boats if we don't send them to sea?

I took your suggestion awhile back & got one of those , f*&^ what's it called ( goes to drawer & gets) *Make It Sharp* a knife sharpener with the two crossed ceramic pins you draw your knife down & I picked up a "Steel" as well , they may not make my knives -uber sharp- but they will cut a tomato without any real applied pressure.
Bonus they are so easy to use little retarded folks could have sharp knives, I know that because , heck even big retarded people like me can do it !
