I just had a..... well a somewhat confusing incident today.
After work a co-worker & I were stopped on the sidewalk in Halifax & offered to go just down the block to try some free samples of pasta at this new Pasta house that does build your own pasta & sells it to you by the weight.
To try some samples though you have to buy a drink... since we were off work, & we are beer drinkers & they had a sign that said "Pitchers of Draft $10.00" we went onto the patio to give it a try.
But when our waitress came to the table , she said I can't serve you unless you buy food.
We showed her the flyer, their employee just up the street had just given us , & we were told.
"You have to buy meals, so then we can serve you some Beer, & then if you like you can try the samples "
Needless to say we started laughing & we left... we were not the only ones who were leaving.
Am I & my co worker just somehow dense ?
Catch 22 anyone .
& no there was no mention anywhere on the flyer about buying food, only that you had to buy drink(s)
to try the samples.
So how was everyone elses day, here's wishing you all had nice ones.

But I am better than Christians (and other deluded religious folk), much better. I don't need to be threatened with hell & damnation for example to be a good person, I am that way because I want to be that way. To those of you who might actually want to waste a moment of your time, I've put a picture of my best friend up in My Account page.

Its not a 'safety word' , its just not possible for us to say it was never done.
There has been 1 case, just one where a person(persons remains) have been found in that area, & in that era , that has obvious marks of crucifixion... they even found one of the spikes that went through the foot.
So as we both seem to take the accounts of at times mass crucifixions to be true, I have found only one case where a persons remains have been found who has died that way. Since there haven't been lots/many discoveries ...chances are the accounts portrtaying these condemned people were left there to rot & were not buried.
But because there is 1 fuckin' documented discovery that I know about, there is no way I can say it never happened.
Hence the word "almost" .
I would also like to say , I love how you bleeeeeeped right over the possibility that the whole crucifixion was a set up , with Jesus using the lore of a messiah ,that was know to all & using it to his own ends. Which definately explains, why he 'died' so quickly, & why his legs never were broken & MOST importantly how he managed to resurect himself .
All of this "is a possibility" , it puts Jesus in a role of conman, but hey religion has & is full of conmen, just look at your TV on any Sunday you would like, they're lining up to fleece the sheeple (god damn I love that word) & the flocks are just sitting there breathing deeply through their mouths & not a single independant thought is present in the room !

By the way it takes a little time but my diamond steels for my lathe tools will put a nice edge on a kitchen knife. I need to get somekind of holder to keep it at the proper angle, its (I find it) difficult to keep it just right for each stroke.

Actually there was a jewish historian at that time (who does mention jesus by the way twice) Flavious Josephus, although most scholars today believe what has been found had been edited/changed by early christians to paint Jesus in a better light. I see, that's not how I've read the story(s) I've read more than one version...& seen the movie(s) all of them are pretty clear on this particular point though .
Jesus was murdered, he was taken out & crucified , he didn't 'sacrifice himself' he was put on the cross by others...so they were responsible for his death.
This so called story of Jesus sacrificing himself is in reality just more Bullshit/smokescreen for what really happened.
A small time rabble rouser, who wouldn't conform to the system of the time, refused to work & went around causing the rest of the unwashed at the time to assemble & hear his blatent attacks on the government & the church of that time.
So they killed him & the christians made up this wonderful fairytale of "Jesus's great sacrfice" give me a break, he was supposedly killed in a way reserved for particularly nasty criminals .
Outside of the christians discription, crucifixion , it wasn't even used for ritual or symbolic reasons. It was used as a deterent in that it was an extremely painful, & grusome way to die !
Crucifixion was used by the Romans on slaves ,rebels, pirates & despised enemies & criminals. Also while there are documented cases of thousands of crucifixions in by the Romans in that area Jesus was suppose to have lived & died, there has only been 1 documented case of a body that has been uncovered that had been crucified, it even still had one of the nails in place through the bone in his foot.
The reason only one body has been found .
People who were crucified were denied a burial. they were left hanging until they rotted & animals carried off the pieces.
