Yer making my girlfriend jealous !

But seriously, I am a big believer in Gun control.

I live in a rural area & while I cannot think of one reason why I need a handgun.
I can think of several on why I need & or would like to own a rifle or shotgun. & I do own a rifle & shotgun.

Restricting Guns & Ammo, makes sense. But to completely outlaw them is asinine. THen we would need to outlaw knives & scissors broken glass & that would also mean blunt objects .... outlaw rocks (how exactly would that work ???) Outlaw fuels, alcohol & other propellants, Hell you take it far enough & seeing as a fart can catch fire ....we'd have to make it a crime to hold a flame & fart at the same time ! Could harm people in a crowd ! ! ! !

While if I wish to go through the steps required I can legally own a handgun in this country.
I see no reason to go through the investment of time & money.
I also really don't see a need of fully automatic rifles or handguns to be a necessary part of legal gun ownership. THey are pretty much useless for hunting ...who would want to put 12+ rounds into a deer ?
Duck or goose hunting with a 357 mag or an auto AR 15 !?!

No I am pro gun ownership, with rules & regulations ...but if we say any & all weapons should be legal ,,,, why not a personal cruise missile , why not one of those new electric gattling guns, why can't I have a hydrogen bomb ?

All students must be equipped with full body armour !

Looka thwhat that would accomplish, for America IF .... IF you hire , ex military & give them jobs.
IF you make it a condition that all body armour is 100% American made.
It can halp the economy.
Puts a thousands of trained armed forces personel who have left the service into jobs they are trained for.
puts 10's thousands of people to work making body armour, supplying the materials going into the equipment .

Yep
Definately the way to do it .... just a WIN (jobs for soldiers) WIN (jobs in factories) WIN (students protected with weapons & defensive armour) ....Yep I think I've just solved the problem.

WHat if there were 2 levels of recognised relationships.
Civil Unions , & a seperate one called marriage.

With Civil Unions, being entered into by anyone man & woman, man & man , woman & woman.

Where any of the above joined couples have all rights of the law married couples have & the only difference between them & married couples is only man & woman can get married .
BUT MOST IMPORTNATLY
IS by law anyone who is married can never get divorced.
Can never leave their husband/wife for any reason except death .
Will always be responsible for their welfare, costs etc. FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIFE !

I wonder how may people would then choose to marry ?

I believe that's one of the reasons for the triage system now in place up here.

Too many people would simply go to the nearest emergency room, because they had a cough or felt feverish ...things they could simply go to a walk in clinic or to see their own doctor for (remember up here, almost all the services provided are free)

So for the last 5 years or so, at least here in Nova Scotia as soon as you walk in, before you even register & produce your Provincial Health Card. You are seen by a triage nurse or an emergency medic.
They prioritize you from ... go have a seat to ...the ceiling & floor trap doors opening & medical personel are all over you, your moving on a gurney down the hall as fast as they can move you ! (that's what happened when I went in in June of this year & had a heart attack as I walked through the doors !)
When my zip wheel broke back the first week of October, a piece went into my hand, right beside my thumb, almost through to the other side & there were several small pieces in there along with 1 large piece about an inch by 3/4's of an inch ...the bleeding wasn't too bad when I arrived at Dartmouth General Emergency ,I wasolding pressure on it. I was into see a doctor in about 45 minutes ( it was quite busy) & out the door after having it cleaned & stitched up in less than 2 hours.
Cost $0.00

But there is no cost for any of that ... it isn't free, our much higher taxes pay for it. But it is a nice thing to have ....care waiting there ... anywhere you go to in Canada !

What you haven't mentioned ....IS quality.
I've made gunpowder , we made it to use for homemade fireworks. It is difficult to make in quantity & the quality is another problem & the stuff we made sure wasn't "smokeless".
Just like casting bullets from lead, would give you low quality projectiles .

So while I don't advocate banning guns, or ammunition. Making ammunition harder to acquire, could deter some people. I haven't seen too many news stories where the shooter(s) have been making their own bullets.

IF we want to assume anyone can make bullets, let us not forget they could then just start making their own guns !

IF you even know what you are taling about Edison Pushed & IMO unfortunately lost his bid to make DC power the electricity everyone would use in their home ...but your great inventor Lost out to Other Inventors work ! ! ! !

Sorry, you're wrong. It was Americans, and American ingenuity that made electricity what it is, and therefore made the world what it is.

As well Henry Woodward & Mathew Evans , 2 Canadians patented the incandescent light bulb ... as well as a host of other english & Europena inventors were working on the idea !Edison perfected their invention ...HE DID NOT INVENT IT !
As well Edison lost to Westinghouses Idea's on AC power & we are dealing with that today, lower voltage DC is a better way, Westinghouses ideas on huge power generation facilities being able to transmit that power over large distances won out.
But with todays technology stepping down 120 to 12 & 24 volt systems is all we need to do.
IF more of our electric toys ran on 12 volt, fridges, stoves, tools pumps etc could be powered much easier by solar & wind generated systems manufactured by home owners . THe appliances being mass produced for the 120v market is why the 12v appliances are as expensive as they are ...So Edison while being right in his ideas, lost to Westinghouse because of ease of transportation on high voltage power then & now .

Dicking around with static does not equal electrical discovery. History recognizes those who take an idea and actually go places with it, not those who originate the idea.

Sure the French were dicking around with machines and toys, but that's hardly revolutionary.

Yer a funny guy ...no one elses contribution means anything it was all American invention ....thank god America invented the Sun !

We recently repealed a Federal Registry on long guns.
THe city of HAlifax ( I live about 35 miles away from there) has just recently been labeled the number 2 city in Canada for gun crime, much of it handguns. Which are restricted weapons.

Wile both hand guns & long gums are available for citizens to purchase.
You have to take a 2 day course & pass a background check to get a Acquisition Possesion Certificate. To buy a rifle or shotgun You need the permit to buy ammo as well.
http://www.canadianlawsite.ca/gunlaws.htm

You have to take a more indepth course for handguns , & while getting a permit & owning a handgun ...does not give you the right to be out in public with it. THere are very restrictive transportation requirements etc that have to be follwed with handguns.
Also many military type weapons are not just restricted they are illegal - period.

Yet gun crime is on the rise in Canada, particularly Hnad Gun Crimes ...which IMO means that all these rules & regulations mean Sweet Fuck All. Criminals will get weapons & use weapons ...permits or no permits required !

My daughter was around 2 & a half we had been working on getting her to use a toilet, she had recently graduated from the training seat to the regular toilet seat ...with help .

I got up in the middle of the night to pee.
I left the seat up ! ! !
Little did I know what that mindless oversight would do to her & us .
After I had fallen back to sleep I was awakened by blood curdling screams of terror, my youngest child had woken & decided to go & use the toilet on her own. With only the night lite in the hallway, she attempted to sit on the toilet, but because there was no seat, she slipped butt first down into the toilet ... & the seat & lid fell down on her !
So When I arrived at the bathroom, I saw her little feet kicking with her head & arms , all of her that wasn't in the toilet ( she was literally bent from the waist so that her belly was on her thighs & her bum in the water in the toilet her head, arms & feet sticking up out of the half closed Seat & lid on her upper back! ! ! ! !)

She was 100% , Absolutely Convinced the Toilet Had Attempted to EAT HER !
Which she proceeded to tell anyone she met .

To make a long healing & toilet training story shorter, let us just say It took much longer with by having to go back to the potty chair, then the insert for small children on a toilet etc to get her trained & that to this day, I always put the seat down, even in Men's rooms . I can't even look at a toilet with the lid up, & not want to put the lid down ! She's gone on & is fine .... me I can still sometimes picture a terrified small girls face sticking up out of the toilet screaming in terror.

I believe it may have traumatised me more than her !

THen people who own guns would probably only have 1 or 2 bullets.
