On this point you've made Avie...if someone in Government came out & said "the war on drugs is over"...they would have to add, " & we have lost !"

Just like the war on terror, IMO by allowing the Government under Bush to illegaly violate your Constitution & form the Homeland Security. I've seen it reported that it is in essence, no different in its powers in the US as the Gestapo was in Germany. Wire taps on any American ,without warrant, without cause ,& without any justification to a higher authority above them...they can enter any residence any property for any or no reason, without cause of any kind & without any higher authority ,that they answer to ! ! & That's scary !
But seeing as the Federal Reserve was an illegal act that the Government went along with...no actually they went & deliberately mislead the American people from day one & right up until today.

I can say that I am not at all surprised. The amount of Americans who come to this site 7 have absolutely NO IDEA, abotu their own monetary system...& how many actually believe that The Federal Reserve is a Government controlled organization...It isn't folks...it is a Banking Cartel & it is controled by people who are not elected & many are not even Americans !

First & most important... if all you have for genetic diversity is 2 examples of an organism as complex as a mammal. Constantly interbreeding the resultant progeny will show birth defects, & other genetic problems.

So this part of the bible is an impossibility. Not allowing marriage between brother & sister, & other close relations, is against the law in most of the world. But before the law got involved, people knew it was problematic & it was a taboo.
Which must have really sucked in the early days...if you had a hot sister.

Let's say one weekend you go sport climbing, and you use a rope that your friend bought that is technically past its expiration period but was used so lightly that it's not really important. Then you send an email to someone else in which you say "Yeah, the rope was past expiry but we used it anyway, and it was completely fine." The person you're emailing understands the context, so there's no need for you to explain that you were out doing recreational climbing at this point.

;;;;
To start with, Yes I rig for a living.
Without trying to be an ass...there are somethings that are not allowed EVER !
So there is no way I will be rock climbing, unless someone is "paying me to do so"....I've done it in the past, we have the equipment necessary to do it in the future.

Second, I do not keep expired rope around, I no longer give it away either, I cut it up into small unusable pieces, that goes for slings & wire rope as well as shackles, carabiners & all other hardware & clamps.
There is absolutely no excuse for having a piece of equipment on site that could cause harm. >period<
There is no deviation allowed to this concept /rule. >period<
Third I never use another riggers equipment unless that rigger is there & is a rigger I know & trust...that's why I'm still alive.

To get back to the e-mails.
THere are only some e-mails that are really.... hmmm.... lets say problematic.
IF there is a outcry, I believe its in several news spots, then the date of the e-mail & the paper that may or may have not have been published that the info refered to in the e-mail "might make it suspect" can easily be produced & the conspiracy folks will get their bubble burst once again.

My whole tack on Newgrounds & elsewhere has been on how I personally believe Global Warming is a crock of shit name.Al Gore's video is worse, its a made up infected pile of feces
It IMO should be called what it actually is, "climate change" on this point I stand firm, & will take whatever criticism that comes at me, because I can see it in my own backyard !
Which let's me believe ,without actual proof about the rest of the planet, that it is going on elsewhere & I have seen the lack of ice in the Gulf of St. Lawerence personally. So reading/hearing there's less ice up North isn't hard to imagine it being true.

But that still doesn't mean we are completely responsible for all that is going on.
People are confused, worried & upset about this subject. Having even unproven out of context rumors which these e-mails help fuel is IMO also very serious .

You can't just say "I think this person probably published misleading information," without giving an actual example of published information that you consider misleading and expect people to take your accusations seriously.

;;;
I'd like to point out that these e-mails have been released & you (Elfer) may think Al6200 ,myself & others may all be crackpots... but if these people have releasd papers on climate change, & were dismissing things for sake of an algorhythm then it stands to reason they have proof in their released papers about their research & can refute these claims ,based on e-mails that are now circulating & your saying "THose with concerns need PROOF.
We're saying , no we have some questionable things here !
You prove you weren't lying or covering up, by providing context to the e-mails with released official papers/articles etc. The onus isn't on us to prove anything...we're not in a court of law !
We're in the court of public opinion, & I for one do not see any global warming in my part of the globe...which is all I actually have to go on. Personal experience on my little part of the world..the Eastern Canadian coast.

I have lived here all my life.
I remember when nice weather used to start & when to expect the bad stuff...well it has changed in when it comes & goes...but the amount of cold shitty weather has increased here ! Especially cold & wet !
IF your going to try to convince the world that we're in trouble of global warming...your going to have to do more than show me melting ice caps. I've been to the Arctic more than once & I have see fossils of trees that used to grow there, in places where the closet tree is hundred of miles south of us.

Second seeing as we know that man had nothing to do with those warming & cooling trends, IMO its up to all scientists to prove we're the direct cause...& all of them are not saying that. part of the problem, possibly because it isn't true ?!?.

Seeing proof that at one time most of central North America was under water...I'm not about to panic anytime soon, because a bunch of Government Scientists are falling in behind their elected masters, in their new vision of HEY WE'VE FOUND A GREAT NEW TAX GRAB...WE'VE GOT TO SAVE OURSELVES FROM dum, dum ,dum, DUMB !!! GLOBAL WARMING ! and we need money ,lot's & lot's & lot's of taxpayer money to fix it.

I'm wondering how long it'll be before the 'Church of Global Warming', signs up for its tax free religious status

Ok ...fun !
THis is the truth, I am pesently running for Exec office in my union. The votes will be tallied on Monday Nov23/09. So while this isn't public office, it is for a union local of over 425 members.
I have no idea if I will win. The other person running has a following in New Brunswick where he is quite popular...but our local has members in all 4 Atlantic Provinces, & depending on how many votes are actually cast ,will have a real impact on who will win ! We have had elections in the past where less than 30 % of members voted...last election the ballots cast hit over 95 %, so It's a impossible to say Imo what will happen.
The vote is a secret ballot mail in.
I will post whether I won or lost on Monday.... I can actually say that as of yet, I am not really concerned about winning, or losing. Perhaps there will be some kind of emotion come election day, right now I'm simply waiting & its not a big deal.

To put this in perspective, estimates for the amount of gold ever mined in the history of the world is only around 5 billion ounces so it would not be possible for the US to have 23 billion ounces as your calculations suggested. The current estimates of the US gold reserves are currently around 261 million ounces which isn't even worth half a trillion dollars. To put that into perspective, our budget deficit in 2009 is close to $2 trillion.

;;;
Then the US had money out that wasn't backed by gold...which would have been illegal.

In 1971 the US was on the Gold Standard, at that time as far as I can find on the net,the US had 800 Billion dollars in currency in circulation...that would have had to be backed by gold...it was at $38 $39 dollars an ounce then so do the math to figure out how many ounces of gold at 39 dollars per ounce was needed to back 800 billion dollars.
I guess we know why Nixon go tthe US off the Gold Standard !

THen take that amount of gold in ounces, & multiply it by todays per ounce price or $1148.72 US gold per ounce on my kitco chart today.
See the answer ?
You don't need wonder why i say ripped off 'eh!

There has been about 161000 tons of gold mined, half of it in the last 50 years. I see it in some articles as tonnes, I can't find if they're talking metric or british or american tons ..there is a differece.
metric tonne = 32150.76 troy ounces
long ton (UK) =32666.667 troy ounces
short ton (US) = 29,166.667 troy ounces
Today a metric tonne of gold is worth almost 37 million american dollars.

In Murray N. Rothbard's 1981 article "The Case for a Genuine Gold Dollar", Murray calculated going to a 100% gold standard in 1981 would correspond to a gold price of $1,696/ounce. Since 1981 the money supply has grown multiple times more than the gold supply so if the Federal Reserve's gold were to back all dollars then, according to Rothbard's logic, gold would have to be multiple times higher than $1,696/ounce.

;;;

If you had read my whole post, simple math showes that the gold reserve already owned by the American people 1n1971 (over 800 billion in 1971 dollars) in todays dollars would be 23 TRILLION DOLLARS.
Your in debt 12 TRILLION....can you not do even simple subtraction ?
THe American people have been ROBBED , & not for the first time.
The whole Federal Reserve is & has been robbing the tax payers of America since day #1.
The Government especially the Republician Party has done everything it can to continue the theft IMO.

Easier on the eyes as well.
But she doesn't even present a meaningful attempt at a facade of being intelligent, whereas gore does. So, when Gore messes up its more fun to call him on it.

I can't debate Gore with you...seeing as anytime i come across anything by him or about him these days ,I ignore. After seeing all the fallicies & out right lies & fabrications in his 'inconvienient truth' his views are as important to me as a lump of polar bear shit.
But Sarah...what I was thinking on ,about her has nothing to do with her actually speaking, unless its to moan, groan or howl for More ;)
