How about putting the inventory inside another movieclip, with two frames, one on screen, and one off screen, and make pressing 'i' play said movieclip.

I use powertabs, them direct midi to mp3. It's just a tablature/sheet music producing program, but it's free, and I find easier to get you head around than most other programs. Well, if you can read tablature/sheet music.

My song Moonshine I only managed to get about 40 seconds done, and couldn't get any further. A few months later, I'd thought of a little tune I liked, and so put it in. After a bit of twiddling, I got it to fit in, and I somehow managed to complete the song, so I submitted it.

It's best to read the individual series (Rincwind series, witches series, Tiffany Aching series etc.) in order, although not necessarily subsequently.
Also, the first ones are a lot better than the later ones. Some, occasionally, are just as good as these, but the rest are only awesome.
My favourite is Pyramids.
