**warning im a horrible speller :)**
as we all know there have been alot of threads about god, cristians, and religion in general. yet thinking back to a few of them, why people tend to flame, have a few good points on why god doesnt exist, nobody has brought up a few points that i have been thinking about. while they do not prove that god doesnt exist, it does bring up some interesting questions. this is not about if god exists or not, merely what the cristians, and all who belive in the bible belive is nothing but a farce.
for these points to have any weight at all, theres a few things you have to accept. these things can niether be proven, or disproven. god if he/she exists, must be logical. because as we all know the universe we live in has rules. we may not understand them all, but rules none the less (i.e. gravity). one must assume, that even if god is all knowing and all powerful he must "think".
that being said, the bible is not logical.
first of all, god created man in the image of himself. hence why he must be a logical creature. here is my first problem. if god created man in the image of himself, why is man not able to give life also? man was created first, and woman was created afterwards, almost as a afterthought when adam told god he needed a companion. and even then, god created woman from man. yet women are able to give life (birth). this type of male-dominated dogma has many problems. if we truly are created in the image of god, men should be able to give birth and create life. while we have a small part in it, females hold most of the power in giving life. so logically, why was man created first? why were HUMANS not created at the same time?
and why the attempt to villify eve and all women by blameing them for being cast out of the garden of eden? if god is all knowing he would have known that eve was going to eat the apple and get both adam and eve kicked out of paradise. so why bother to create eve at all? also, since he created adam from the dust of the earth, why not also create eve from the earth? this is not logical.
before eating the apple, adam and eve knew nothing of shame. once commiting the "ultimate sin" all humans were cursed with the burden we know carry. yet, not all humans know shame. small children will run around naked at every chance they get, with no shame at all. shame is a LEARNED emotion. there are tribes of humans all over the world that walk around with nary any clothes on and know no shame from it. if what the bible says is true, then ALL humans regardless of where they live, or religion would know shame from the time they were born. yet we know this is not the case.
and what of the garden of eden? and while adam and eve were still living there, i know nothing of them having any sons or daughters while still living in the garden. and even before that, before the creation of eve how would adam reproduce? unable to concive life on his own, would he be gods play toy for all eternity? but once outcast from the garden, wouldnt the garden still exist to this day? i know nothing of god destroying the garden, only that they were outcast and not allowed to return.
what of god himself/herself? god is supposed to have a son, yet to have a son he there would need to be a woman god. otherwise men would be able to give life. his son was given to a women for her to bear the son of god as a human. so therefore, god had a son before mary gave birth to him. its a logical paradox, since god logically cannot create his own son without a woman. he may create beings, and its possible he merely called him his son.
so you see, the very foundation that the church is built upon is all false. everything in life has male and female aspects. to cut one out leaves you with a half told tale. so even if god exists, he/she must have both male and female aspects in order to exist. even if the cristians had the correct idea, they told the wrong tale. unwilling to give women any of the credit they deserved, they decided to quash the ideas of women haveing any power at all. while the very thing they value most, god, may in fact be a woman.
all these things deserve a explanation. and from what ive read, nothing in the cristian literature can explian it. so, to the few cristians of NG what do you think of this? and how would you explian these descrepensies?
