You realise that the organiser actually needs some time to compile all the parts and make the compilation look like a finished piece? It isn't willy-nilly last minute stuff.

Topic: Buying Flash

Posted: 03/04/09 04:48 AM

Forum: Flash

I actually asked my media and design teacher about this topic...

According to him, earlier versions of Flash (CS3 and 8) are far easier to learn with, though not as powerful as CS4 or later versions may become.

He uses CS4, but he is nothing less than a Flash genius, and would not suggest learning with it.

However, if you are going to buy you may as well get the latest version. You don't want to find yourself thinking "Gee, that CS4 feature is really great, I should have gotten it"

*Sigh*

Flash cannot be "downloaded", it must be bought. You can, however, download the trial from the adobe website;

www.adobe.com

BTW

Flash player has nothing to do with the Flash you speak of.

Even if you were to be given an engine, you would have no idea how to use it to its full potential.

If you are serious about game development, put in the work and make one yourself.

I don't think you've really thought this out.

The idea is incredibly vague, and you have not clearly stated what sort of submissions you want, how many available places there are, or a possible deadline etc etc.

Also, 96 FPS? Are you an idiot? Do you have any idea how fast that is? Many think 30 FPS is too quick.

Get your crap together and give it another shot.

ahhh darn.
Oh well i will just move both layers independently I suppose.

Not necessarily, but you can create a "layer folder" and just drag and drop your layers in there. You are effectively "merging" them, but should you decide you no longer wish them to be merged, you can just remove them from the folder.

The "create folder" option is right next to the "add motion guide" option which is right next to the new layer button.

Hoped this helped.

No.

CS3 is fine, it's a step up from Flash 8 which the majority of animators use.

Just practice and don't try to pin failings on your version of Flash.

Well, first you'll need the program Flash. It's pretty costly, you can download the trial at the Adobe website. You can, however, acquire it by "other" means. Do so at your own risk.

Secondly you should look up some tutorials, there are a few great ones here on NG.

Hope this helps and stuff.

Hey guys,

I'm trying to make myself an NG icon, but when I upload it (as a .GIF) it looks disgusting, all fuzzy. The photo below is it.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening?

Why does my icon come out awful?

Ah, yes the two of you are both right. I just noticed how much of an eye-sore than mouth shape is...

How would I go about fixing it without removing the shape from the animation completely?

Thanks very much for your feedback!

Hey guys, I just finished my 4th attempt at a lip sync.

http://spamtheweb.com/ul/upload/220209/4 9897_Mouths_Done.php

Tell me what you think :D

What should I concentrate on improving on? Is this up to the NG standard?

BTW he's saying "Blood is thicker than water" which is an audio I recorded off a tutorial here on NG, I didn't use said tutorial's method, however.

Thanks!

Hey guys,

I drew up a really quick picture just to get a feel for how it would look on NG when I uploaded it as a finished piece, for an icon.

This is it:

Yes, it is random, yes that is the Majin symbol on his forehead :P

When I save it as a GIF, it goes tiny, fuzzy and horrible looking.

Any pointers?

Thanks!

Hey guys,

I was just wondering how you're meant to work scenes in Flash? Like when two people are talking to one another for example, and the camera is flicking back between them, how would one orchestrate that on Flash? Do you make a different file for each scene or something?

Would Windows Movie Maker be alright for creating a final product?

Thanks in advance NG!

Topic: Tutorial Requests

Posted: 02/14/09 03:31 AM

Forum: Flash

Hey guys,

I've been looking all over the internet (both on and off NG) for tutorials on the specific skills I would like to develop. My web surfing skills, however, are average at best.

I know I'm asking a lot, but any replies would be very much appreciated!

-Lip syncing (which would fit with the FBF animation style and is somewhere in between quickly done and marginally nice looking).

-FBF Character movement. (Limbs, eyes, arms etc.)

-Preloaders.

I'm use Flash CS3 btw, just in case it matters.

Like I said I know I'm asking for a lot.

Thanks so very much!

Greetings NG community! I come seeking knowlege...

Where might I find a tutorial for lip syncing that is somewhere in the middle of Easy/ quick - Looks marginally impressive, and will also fit the frame-by-frame animation style?

I've scoured NG daily for the past week, but nothing. I've also checked YouTube, but the quality of tutorials there is average at best.

SO, I turn to you.

Please and thank you!
