just eb upfront with them about how you don't want to talk about religion, as long as they aren't above you in power, or have greater influence you should be fine

In my school all the eigth graders need to take this Model Congress calss that makes us go adn compete at the Packer School. Part of it is that we need to debate the bills propsed by other schools and there is this one school, who I will not name, who has some of the worse ideas EVER! Firstly they want to re-open Gitomo and legalize torture. Also, apparently, they think that having steroids legal in sports is a good idea also. Not only that but they would like to penalize little-league teams for using a metal bat, up to $5,000. And the icing on the cake is that they want to keep all senior citizens off the road behind the wheels of cars. Really, I mean REALLY?!?! It is people like THAT who make me wish I wasn't an American.

Well, if I just was trying to keep it on track, or at least near the tracks so that way at least one person could give an answer which would be intelectual.

I know that, I just really have had this on my mind for a while and I just wanted to get other people's opinions on it, but apparently NewGrounders can't keep a discussion going unless it invloves some random pop culture thing.

I personally lliked Enterprise, but earlier one, as soon as there were Nazi aliens it began going down slightly, hit rock bottom with the dark universe and redeemed itself with the series finalie.

I really don't see any practical reason to brag about being in the military, espically considering that all if not most of our military actions have been seen as very negative to msot other countries. I'm not saying that it's not a good idea to join the military, it's very honorable and it teaches job skills which are very good, it's jsut that in the current international state of the U.S. there's no real reason to say that you seved in the military unless someone asked you about it. And also doing so makes you seem like a douche bag.

It makes sense to me, it's saying that it's okay to express oneself as long as you keep some self control.

Why should I, I have a view which I wish to see if others share/shared it. I am mierely searching for the inner enlightened one who is willing to delb deep into their mind and discover their inner beliefs and thoughts.

I personally am a huge Trekie and I am wondering if anyone else is and how excited they are for the new Star Trek movie coming out quite soon.

I supose it's just a philisophical discusion about how life could very well not exhist.

How do we know that reality truely exhists, for all we know it could just be an elaborate computer program, or just a dilusion thought up by some super being, not necesarily god like, but still powerful. Doesn't that sort of depress you?

I am really ticked off because I really hate that people are against gay marriage . Now I'm mainly mad that people are against it for religious reasons. Those people feel that it's their duty to impose their ideals in others. If guys want to marry other guys why is it that religious people need to save other people's souls. If they want to do what they want aren't they going to be punished in hell anyway. So really for everyone who's against gay marriage just lay off, it doesn't affect you.

I really think this is a mistake, there should be no reason for same-sex marriage to be banned anywhere. The only reason that this is happening is because religion deems it morally wrong to marry someone of the same gender.
