No wonder gimp was turd for you. Yes, they are complicated programs, so what does one expect. Being able to make pro quality design means more features means a lot of menus, buttons, sliders etc. But you don\t need to use them all, but beginning with quite simple stuff.

Yes, it's good for making animated movies. Last one I tried was at the time t hey implemented AS2 I guess, and by then it was nothing special about it. A little of photoshop elements implemented.

I used to draw with that too, though. But if I had to choose the best and even professionally appealing vektor app, it would be InkScape, which is opensource too. Its shit loaded with bugs though, so that could even drag the score down with 5 points if 10 is max...

Just state some points that you find advantegous over the counterpart.

Photoshop over GIMP
reason 1: Slick and simple to look at while working , which GIMP does not offer... imo.. The linux userbase is not really known for desig. GIMP does a bad job managing where all your window boxes are, so iit's really annoying sometimes.

reaspm 2: Flicking through your current works can already be done in the standard editions of PS. Gimp 2.8 os still in its progress, ad we are left with a trunk version of 2.7.2, but installing it is a pain.

GIMP over Photoshop
1. Uh. m... ujjjjoyeah. It s free and nearly covers all features of photoshop. That is one amazing thing to contribute the worl with.
2. Loadings times are hellabatmobile fast also with superb stability.
3. Open Source. If you got the knowledge, just get the source and destroy or upgrade whatever features that you want.

I\d like to rate these two apps quite similarily, but it still doesn't beat Photoshop.

Using GIMP and still loving it, although Ive hit the very next wall. I would love some help now though, and you will be greatly rewarded with appreciation and respect.

You know, when you draw a shape with one of these brushes blurred out, I am not so pleasant about them, so soon I may go back to MS Paint again. And I know I can use pencile tool, but I don't like it.
How do I just make it look nice by overwriting any blurriness, with a little splah of digital color with the bucket tool.

Hmmm... yes. Not really the first time being told so, but Ive never done anything about it. Taking a look at my old drawings also validates what you said.

I will spend an extra 1-2 hours cleaning it up. There's something inside there in my head that really loves sketchiness, but its burrowed way too low to pick it up. Probably because I am a lazy fuck.
