Either way, you should check the OST of that anime. It's godly.
You. Rock! Thanks! There will be pie for you in the afterlife. It really has been on my mind that long. I'll follow your suggestion and check it out. Thank you again very much!
I was wondering if anyone knew what the first piece of music in this flash is, or if it is any sort of track at all. I've done searches various times before but turned up nothing.

A lot of it does have to do with the lifestyle choices people make since that is the most immediate area they can have a direct effect on. I would also like to know how cycling changes the equation.
I think a lot of this comes down to labeling and what one considers male or female. Sure you can argue genetics, but if the person has the character traits and physical makeup of the opposite sex then the genes don't seem to have much influence in determining what would usually be their traits. The role and power of genes seems seriously downplayed then. There could be, and are, people who have the genetic makeup of one sex but all the characteristics of the other (social characteristics included) and people have no clue. One could argue that for all practical purposes the person is the gender they appear to be.
Academics typically likes to break it into two groups, gender (more psychology, personal choice, and social rules) and sex (biological). Being that I find too many exceptions in the biological realm I like to give more credence to the gender perspective. When it comes down to it, people have a harder time coming up with defining male and female and arguing over definitions. It gets even worse when the person is a hermaphrodite.
As for throwing a transgendered person in prison with people of the opposite gender, that would create too many potential problems. Prisons suck for various reasons and having transgendered person in general population would expose them to too many dangers such as rape and physical violence.

I'd definitely agree.
Also, this article seems to be talking about carbon intensive food production methods, and not so much about walking vs. driving which is an entirely different subject. Furthermore, I'd like to know how he crunched his numbers because it seems to contradict everything I've learned in t least 27 credit hours worth of classes ranging from chemistry to environmental biology. Chemistry being one of the more important and relevant ones. Maybe this guy has ulterior motives for publishing something like this. It sounds sketch.

Man, a lot of this is just a smaller debate in metaphysics between Plato's Ideals and Aristotle's "relativism".

Is this the same person I'm thinking of? If so, very frustrating.

¿Tengo que traducir? ¡Al infierno con eso! Libertarian papers aren't my usual read but this one seems a bit interesting. I'm not surprised that you might get pissed off though. If he has some valid claims in his criticisms it is not as bad as the numerous baseless claims and thinking-free sound bites you see on TV and on some of the other threads here. I respect someone that can back up what they say more than the mindless drones, even if I disagree with them.
I usually stick to the NY Times, Washington Post, BBC, and local papers. Every now and then I'll cruise Rush Limbaugh just to shake my head and laugh.

I'm not a religious person myself but there are functional perspectives to religion that can be beneficial. It offers a social network of support. Many churches also work to feed and cloth homeless and do other volunteer work. Finally, they seem to offer people peace of mind when it comes to issues such as death.
All that aside, religion can also be bogusly used to "justify" some bad shit. To say all it does is that is a bit short sighted though.

You own a company that makes "smartf" lights for office buildings. Your light can sense when a person is in the room and turns on and off based on whether a person's using the room. The sensors are x amount to install but are expected to save business owners hundreds of thousands on their monthly utility bills.
If you sell this product to businesses, how would you market this product? Obviously the cost savings are the first thing you'd highlight, but would you try for a global warming angle, even if you think global warming is bullshit? Would you incorporate environmentalism at all into the sales pitch?
In general, how effective is global warming as a marketing tool? We here about people switching to hybrid cars all the time: how much of that is based on environmentalism and how much of that is based on energy consumption?
Who's to say environmental incentives can't also be economic? The topic of "environment" affects and influences so many other areas such as the economy, public health, and social structures.
From a marketing perspective the money saving aspects will probably motivate more businesses/people seeing as how it is the bottom line that matters to most of them. Unless businesses want to have it for a PR aspect saying "look how green we are" giving their possible target audience warm fuzzy feelings about how much they care.
I was about to start my own pseudo religion and take over the world using similar tactics. Now however I'd hate to have all these negative responses on the newgrounds politics posts. ;)
I often like to claim I am the next best thing in human evolution. Also, I didn't come from a jar of peanut butter. I instead came from a can of whoop ass.

Agreed. But then you couldn't you make the same argument for subsidizing renewables? At what point would it be just as costly or less costly to invest into alternative fuels which produce considerably less waste and less hazard?

All this still doesn't deal with the tailings.
Yeah, I thought of that. But I also know weight constraints are a big thing on those missions. For the more serious stuff you'd need shielding and such. Furthermore, how much could you really fit in there?

I'd be ok with it if it weren't for the problems involved with the mining of uranium and radioactive tailings and waste storage.

Doesn't change the fact that if I could it would still have no relevance and still is an ad-hominem fallacy you're arguing there. Familiar with informal fallacies?
Then why haven't you talked about how it relates to human life and self?Did you read the comparison?
Maybe you think you did in some previous reply but you make no mention of their ideas and how it could relate to abortion. This leads me to believe you didn't. If not, feel free to quote where you did before. Till then you're just lying.
You could have fooled me.Hah!
:)
2. If you read the readings I mentioned you would know that it has nothing to do with race or gender discrimination.I see you've failed to recognize a comparison when you see one.
Are you on drugs as your name suggests?
Seeing as how I don't see it I'm going to have to ask if you're the one on drugs here. It's gotta be one of us, and again, you're assuming something about me based on a name. God forbit you ever meet a person with the last name shoemaker or something.
The point was that why should I look back on those characters and base all of my opinions on what they write?
That's why I mentioned the founding fathers. We look up to them a great deal, but does that mean we should follow everything they believed, like blacks and women having no rights?
I see what you're trying to say here but you have to take things in context. No, they are not people to be put up on a pedestal. What I'm talking about is not their faults but their contributions they make to the world you live in today. I'm not saying that you should live, breathe, and die what they said. They have bad ideas and good ideas. Pick what you like and don't like and state why. If anything at the very least learn to think critically and with an open mind. If anything for the fact that it is their ideas that influence your life, how our society is structured, the laws we have, and the morals and values many people claim. So, knowing what they thought and why they thought it is important. If you're in college you should be learning about thinking critically.
So again, where's your comparison? Feel fee to quote it.
"Dissent is the highest form of patriotism."
-Thomas Jefferson
I think you can find a quote that says almost anything though. By T.J.'s statement, I'd say I am.
