Hi NG.
I'm about to release my first flash game, and I'm not sure if I should try to get sponsors, or use Ads to try to earn a little for my hard work?
the only Reason I'm thinking Sponsorship wound't work for me is because I want to add NG Achievements, and maybe also leaderboard, but if some other site sponsor the game would they even allow that to be there?
I'm all new to releasing something like a Flash game, tho I've work on it for about a year now, and I'm really close to the end.
Basially I'm not sure how to handle the release as well as I possible can (:
Sorry for my bad english.
and thanks for Reading
thanks for being interrested everyone!
but I'll just let you all know I now have found one for the project now (:
Hi I'm looking for someone who can do music for my game and a trailer
The game will need about 4 tracks that need to be looping, I can handle the sound effects myself so it's only music.
I've included a video for you to get an idea of the game, the video is a bit outdated now but it will give you a basic idea.
when people ask me what the game is about I usually say "it's a mashup of my fav games I've played from when I was very little to now" and because it's my first game I'll finish (made about 7 non finished flash games) I'm not trying to innervate something new, just trying to learn the basic.
Music style I'm looking for.
Chiptune, 8 bit sort a music, it dosen't have to be 100% true 8 bit as long as it just have a good old feel to it im good ^^
and music for the trailer is just something that need to be rad, and fit the video i'm making ofc ^^
send me a note if you're interested in helping on the music part, and if you're I can also let you try out the game as it is so far, and all that jazz
thanks for reading!
Hello Newgrounds.
I'm pretty new at uploading stuff on this site, when it comes to a finished project, and would like to use Newgrounds as much as possible and get the most out of it I.
I'm almost finished with my first game, it is still need some more levels and need a âEU<âEU<boss fight.
and some other things but I would think it's time I start asking for advice about the things I am in doubt about.
Music
I need music, but I can just take what is on Newgrounds, do I need ask for permission first, or must I buy it from people, give them share of what the game earn or how dose it function?
Ads / money
You can make money by having ads in the game, but are there things I need to be prepared for, or should I just ignore it and go to other sources?
Other things I should know?
throw a comment or possibly a link to where I can find a lot of knowledge about it and or advice
Here is a bit out dated video, but it kinda gives you a idea of the game, tho there more functions in the game now then what this video shows, like I said, it's a bit out dated ^^
Link to video on Youtube
and please go easy on it, after all it is my first game, and I know it probably going to suck a bit XD lol
Thanks for reading!
I'm not sure if you've seen this, but I found this on Reddit a few days ago.
It's really bad development for someone who try to make a "Big game"
sorry about my english if I make spelling mistakes
Hi I've been working on a Game for a while and plan on uploading it here on NG with all the API features NG can offer.
anyway so I ran into a problem when I was testing it out, for some reason it seem to scale my flash file with about 1/2 pixels
so first I ofc tried it out some where else and I had no problems where ever I tried it other then Newgrounds.
So my question is how come this happens?
what can it be try to do to fix it?
and are there any limit to how big your SWF file can be in size?
it matters a bit because I'm doing a pixel art game and it just look strange when it scale it
anyway hope some of you can help me out cheers :)
Email in your inbox :)
Sorry for double post but I want to explain the game play I have in mind :)
So now that it's an iOS game I don't want the game to have touch controllers.
I think just using the entire screen as a controller is great so there for I've ha a game in mind that fits for that.
The title for the game is Sad bunny Face.
I won't tell to much about the plot. I want to save that for when i find someone who are interested :)
but game play wise
so think of robot unicorn's game play, you're running to the right all the time and what you can do is jump or dash.
so that is cool and all that but would't it be cooler if you had other options as well?
so I had a slide mechanistic in mind, and ofc some sort of Attack.
when you hit an object you ofc lose the game and your highscore will be posted on the leaderboard
there are 2 goals in the game mainly
1 get a highscore and compeat with others or -
2 collect carrots and buy hats/healmes for the bunny (only for the look)
a bit about the level design, so you'r running to the right all the time but that can get a bit boring and we all know games where you can make desissions is fun.
So lets say that when you run to the right all the time your start on floor one and there are maybe about 3-4 floors. if you stay on floor one you wont get any power ups or bonus items, or collectebals, but if you manniget to stay on the top floor whitch also happens to be the hardest floor to stay on, you'll get a better score, and you might get more carrots as well.
anyway if you like the idea and like i said in the other post are passionate about working on games let me know ^^
and again sorry for my d-post v___v
Hi there :)
First of I want to say sorry about my English spelling.
Alright with that out of the way let's get right to it.
What i'm looking for
Okay so I'm looking for a passionate iOS coder who likes working independent with another person.
And all you need to be good at is to love program for iOS, be passionate and working on game project.
I'd love someone with no life (J/K) no but I'd love to work with someone who like me spend most of their time in front of a computer doing what they like, someone who are dedicated, someone who really want to make a fun and goofy game. :3
So why should you even work with me?
Like what I'm looking for, I'm very passionate about making games and been studding it for quiet a while now, and I have a few well though projects on my hand, one of them I've already started making most of the animations and art.
What can I bring to the table?
- been studding gaming for 1.5 year
- studding graphics design for 2.5 year
- self-taught Animator (mostly 2D Animation art)
- I have a fan-base with around 4000 people on devianART who are very interested in my game idea.
- I know how to handle the marketing for someone who try to launch apps independently.
did I also mention I'm very passionate :)
A little about me you might want to know.
from Denmark. 23 years old.
I love making projects and work with passionate people (what im looking for here :P )
Dream is to just work independently on games I want to do everything I can.
Also if you want to make a bit of money on the side this is a great chance for you.
If you're interested please Email me (MY EMAIL HERE!)

(I first tried on the BBT Facebook page but now that I think about it im pretty sure i get no replay there so I wanted to come here and ask you guys)
I was wondering, is this where Dan got his inspiration for the running animation? maybe not this picture but the book it's from? I think he talked about the book at some point as well, if you where new to animation it was a great book. anyway the reason I notice it was because I was using it for a running animation, for a kinda simple looking char as the BBT chars. someone even asked me if i copied BBT.
Not that it's a bad thing if he did get the inspiration from the book, I was just wondering if it was so? :)
Thanks for reading :)
