i like to break things, not smashing things up and destroying them in fit of rampage. nothing animalistic like that, it's very calculated, and i'm rather calm about it. i usually sit down in my room, with a screwdriver, a swiss army knife, and some scissors. my "victims" are whatever appliances/electronics i find, sometimes i go out early friday morning during bulk trash day, sometimes it's from dumpster diving. maybe even i might get soemthing that doesn't work from a friend. stereos, televisions, old answering machines. the biggest thing i ever pulled apart was an old cd player from the 80s, big hulk of metal, had some really cool machined brass parts in it. the only thing i saved from it was the laser element, and i think the display, it's in a bag somewhere. and that's what i do, i just systematically break down everyting, cutting and unscrewing shit into its basic components and "harvesting" the cool shit i find. i'm sure there are engineer types who do this stuff, but they usually make something from all the waste. i'm not very creative tho. i dunno why i do it tho, i mean if i want to know how something worked, i'd read about it. i guess maybe it fills some self destructive urge or soemthing. in fact, dean koontz wrote a novel about a serial killer who did this kinda stuff as a child, and then, moved on to people. ::shrugs:: you know, you've had enough of my ranting. i just felt like typing soemthing.

So where did all the old posts go? Yes, I know, I didn't like the idea of starting over either. But unfortunately, because of the way the old BBS is set up, those messages can't be put into the new format (or, at least, not without great difficulty).
Another good point of the new BBS is that double-posts should become a thing of the past. When the web server gets bogged down, it will tell you if it looks like you're double-posting and give you a link to view your post.
Let me know what you all think. To the average NG user, the new BBS shouldn't look much different than the old one (with the exception of the rank icons on the left). But underneath it all, it's pretty much all-new. The only thing that remained the same was what you see in your browser.
