Well, I just drank a can, and I don't have an erection at the moment, so I don't think they are. I've never tried Viagra though, so I can't really make a comparission. I don't need to have erections anymore than I already do.

Actually Wade,I went out and bought 'red Bull' after I saw it Sitting on top of your monitor...( Figuring since your like the "Dr Ruth of the NG, it has to be good).I also had been losing alot of enery/concentration lately , So I thought I'd give it a try......I drank for about a week,(and aside from putting a dent in my wallet((Two bucks a can here)) and tasteing like Shit)It really didn't make a difference....So I realize that you can only make enery when you give off energy, which means working out....Also for the last five years of School I had been Drinking this Power Mocca Smoothie From that Smoothie King Store in penn Station,.. And It was Loaded with that taurine stuff you were talking about So it must have been legal for awhile....I also didn't feel any effect from that either..Oh Well I'll just stick to my "Mike's Hard lemonade"...

Anyway, it was a big week and I'm very stressed out. I went back to classes at Drexel (after a 9 month break to focus on Newgrounds), and I had my first quiz on Thursday. The class is scheduled to end at 2:50, but the teacher gave us the quiz at 2:45 and told us we had until 3:00 to finish it - real convenient considering I had to run home and call in to do an 3pm talk show with Bob Cesca from Camp Chaos!

If you listen to the show you'll hear the big news from this week (sorry I hadn't posted about it earlier) - I had a visit from an MPAA investigator! He didn't just visit me, he came to my parents' house first and then tracked me down to my apartment here at Drexel!

I knew he was on his way over, so I had to sit around for 2 and a half hours, scared out of my mind. I didn't technically have to speak with him at all, but I wanted to be cooperative - I just posted some Tom Green footage that wasn't supposed to be available to the public, after all. No need to have the FBI breathing down my neck about something like that, right?!

So the guy comes in and says, "Tell me who made the tape, or I'll kill ya!" ....oh wait, that was from Enemy of the State. Basically, he wanted to know who gave me the tape, and I honestly couldn't tell him. So he confiscated the tape and I signed some papers saying I wouldn't post the video anymore. I just hope that is the last I hear from them.

Anyway, that was my week. Check out McFretN's new movie, Brutality! If you like Dragon Ball Z at all, you will especially like this one! I am going to add it to the DBZ Collections page. Speaking of which, check out the collections! I have been continuing to change the color-scheme throughout the site, making things black instead of mustard. Keep giving me feedback, because your ideas could help sculpt the site as I make changes!

What A damn waste of Time!! When is that damn asshole
"Bob Cesca from Camp Chaos" gonna ever let you speak in your own intervue?!?!?! What AN ASS!!!!!!!!!

O-kay P-Chan, Since this can go on forever, I will make a few statement then I'm Off...

first Of All I really don't have time to bring You "Proof" about my statements.. If you feel I'm wrong, then you prove me wrong...But What I can Tell you is that I worked with some incredible animation Teachers in my 4 years at SVA, who know the business better than both of US,as well as having taken international animation History for two years.....So I'm not talking out of my ass...

It is Known fact that American made animation is more expensive that Japan animation....Most animation Studios' hire layout artist and character designers, but send the inbetweening(the hard part) overseas because it is much cheaper...The Japanese do it for cheap, period....( I worked at MtV animations and that’s how they did "Daria" Okay there's my proof)

Now, then it comes to Story and Plots in anime, they can get intense, and twisted, but that is because it is geared towards adult audiences, more chances are taken, unlike the U.S....But just like the Plots here in the U.S. Anime Storyline can get just as formulaic, and mundane as the rest of them.....
Animes are either Stories about fighting, Giant Robots, or School kids trying to get laid.....
The truth is I really wasn't complaining about Plots, and Story as Much as the 'Process' of Anime'...maybe that's why you found my statements on the matter So "Weak"...

So lets get this out of the Way.." I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH ANIME STORYLINES"..

now you say the Long drawn out still scenes are tender moments for you?...That's fine...If it works for you then great. We'll just leave at that, since what you say they are trying to convey, is simple speculation on your part, so no proof is required...Same here If I have a theory why something as what something is..It means I have no proof, so don't demand any....

Hell.. I feel the long drawn out Still scenes are nothing more than Anime's way to compensate for their inability to express true emotions..But like I said, i don't have proof, So don't demand any:)

Now lets get down to business, the visual Style and execution of animation..
You keep telling me to bring out the Best animation of the US...But You say Disney Doesn't count....Well That's ridiculous,...You Bring up Princess Monkoe, and what am I supposed to bring up?.. The Flintstones???....
Besides it was the Japanese that copied from the Americans in the first place, So why deny the source..

Here are my List of incredible American animation:

"heavy Metal"
"Tarzan"
"Iron Giant"
"Secret of Nymth"
"Batman Series"
"Titan AE" (Story was bad, But we're talking about animation here:)
"Atlantis" upcoming
And these are just a few..

BTW Little Mermaid is NOT anime....

It all come downs to what we like,I prefer traditional American animation, and you prefer Anime'

You hate Disney because the Story line is formula, and the cartoons are geared toward kids.

I hate anime because of the Bad mouth syncing, unrealistic expressions, and the Formula character design....

While money is a big factor why Disney make the cartoons the why they do....

Anime really doesn't have a reason for it's horrible mouth movements...

BTW did you See "Tarzan"?
I can say that I have seen at least one episode of every cartoon you mentioned...

And no matter how much detail, or realistic (minus the faces), an anime can be...they can never cover the scope of expressions , emotions, and awe conveyed in an animation like Tarzan,never...

Anime can tell a good Story, But True animation can Tell a Story without a single Word

P.S. Claiming to be a whole medium is too prentious for even Disney to make, so get off it Anime is a genre:)

Japanese also stresses individual syllables more than English. This could factor into the equation as well.

Anime really just means animation in French. So technically it would mean cartooning in Japan and hence be a medium. However, I see what you are saying, from a western presective, anime would be a genre similar to french foreign films.

All I meant by this is that animes are still cartoons no matter how you look at it. The Fact that anime (which actually means Animated Movie) is a style/culture of a cartoon from Japan..that is what makes it a genre and not a medium...Medium represents ALL cartoons, not just japanese ones.

Personally in this day and age I feel it's a copout..
Please show me your source. I'd love to see it.

On What? Why I feel it's a copout that anime doesn't take chances?..Or the fact that there are more animation studios in the US than Japan, and that's why You see more diverse Styles here?.....What source are you talking about..

Big eyes have the effect of displaying emotions far better than small eyes. The tiny slits you see in a lot of western animations are seen as being too cold and impersonal to the Japanese.
Basically, the eyes serve to give more life into the characters.

Well That's matter of opinion..What disney Did with Tarzan in terms of Character Development and emotions, I have yet to see in any anime.....Sorry, with Disney, Long meaningful Stillshots don't cut here in the US.

Another pet peeve is the Lip Syncing... absolutely horrible.."Flap"Flap"flap" ...
However, if what you say is true about the mouths being a shortcut to help in export, then it could just show anime’s robustness on the international markets. I don’t know of any other genre of animation that has that type of international appeal. Of course you could attribute it to merely marketability (aka Pokemon), but I’m thinking that international favourites like Gundam Wing and NGE are based on something more than marketing. Perhaps they could have substance?

NAh.... It has nothing to do with Substance, especially since you point out how badly we translate, and censor the work in the first place.....It Purely Business...Us Animation is costly. The Japanese are willing to give it up for cheap..

Unacceptable compared to what? Who is this unacceptable to? Are you talking about international standards? Comparing this to western animation? Computer type animation?

It is unacceptable do to the fact that in this day and age of advancements in animation where one can sync voices with ease, there is still this mess, and from a personal Standpoint as a professional animator, It take a lot of time to lipsync, and I believe any Profesional animation Company will tell you that lypsyncing is a very important part of the animation process,as it adds a higher level of believeablilty to the overall story...At least for america anyway.

And While the Plotlines and Story factor can get complex, there also times when it can bog down the whole animation altogether (*Yawn*Ghoststory anyone).
That’s great. Ghost Story is so complex it’s boring. Fine. I’ve never even heard of it, so I can’t even comment.

However, I hope this isn’t a generalization to all anime! For if it is, then it’s false.

This isn't a generalization for all animes' but for most,..And I never said That if the subject was TOO complex it was boring.. I said if the complexity of the storyline Bogs down the Story then it isn't fun watching..That's an attack on my intelligence and I don't appreciate it...

("Ghost in a Shell" WAS BORING) Take it as a personal opinion or whatever, But I completey understood the movie and it was still BORING.

As well, some of the animes that are like that, do it purposely. A still frame with a minimum of detail could be used to *express* a certain mood. Minimalism? Serial Experiment Lain is a great example of this. In some cases it's an art.

No It isn't called an art, It called working on a budget...

:If you look at exports, anime has a large international market as well. The only rivals I can think of are Disney. And Disney produces some of the most repetative formula based type products I've seen.

Just because It is well-known, dosen't mean this it's well-done (case-in point Beavis and Butthead)..And Like I said before, Anime comes Cheap,...If the French were able to dish out the same amount of animation for less...the We'd have tons of french pokemon cartoons to translate instead of Japanese...

it is in no way represents the best of what animation has to offer...
Tell me then. What is the best that animation has to offer?

Since Animation changes alomst on a daily bases It's hard to say, But Since Anime doesn't take advantage of those advancements,(in terms of heads and lipmovements) then anime clearly isn't the best animation has to offer

Please name-drop some western animes yourself. Are they all underground? (Meaning stuff that is fringe).

Actually most of the intense stuff is underground,But That is because most of the Animation here in the States is catered to the Children, and "THAT'S" because children bring more revenue....

I don't have a problem with that, as most cartoons are layered with adult humour to keep the Adults happy...
Actually one cartoon does come to mind "Heavy Metal"

But Should Our Taste Turn...and More Adult oriented animations become more marketable....The Anime industry wouldn't be able to compete........

The only ones I can think of off the top of my head is the MAXX and Spawn.

MAXX was no more than an animatic (animated storyboard)..I wouldn't give that any respect..

Basicly What I'm getting at here is the Actual "Process" of anime..The fact that they can come up with these Intense, and complicated Storylines doesn't help the fact they still resort to Out-of -portions faces, and bad lipsyncing.....It simply shows to me that after all this time Anime really hasn't been able to portray human emotions, and mannerisms as well as American cartoon have....(example) I would prefer the look of Embarrassment the Prince in 'Little Mermaid' Felt when here saw Aria brush her hair with a fork..The look was priceless...No doubt the anime take on the same scene would have showed the prince with this HUGE sweat drop fading into the side of his forehead, and maybe We would've seen Arial with that Played-out vien pop.....

This is an anime pokemon, but the one in america is not anime, its a want-a-be anime made in america with some japanese influance. There for not a true anime, and it shows.

The Only thing about Pokemon that's american are the English Voice actors...Pokemon is animated 100% in japan...While it may be censored for the american audience...The rest is 100% japanese..Which doesn't support your theory as to what is truely "anime"

Hmm I'm actually on your Side, though I don't particularly care for your methods......P-Chan Pulled out clear cases concerning the benefits of anime,But your "Anime is Gay" campaign is far from a descent debate...So Allow me.....

Firstly Anime is a genre and NOT a medium as some would state...To make such a claim would be mean that the anime style invented cartooning, and that clearly isn't the case.....

Another problem is your using examples of really Bad anime...Which western cartoons are also guilty of having (hanna-barbara television anyone?)..But the reason that these cartoons Do work are because of the characterizations , and voice acting....(The Fintsones are really badly animated, but who here doesn't love em:)...

Now Lets Talk about those lovely facial distinctions you keep bringing up,You hate 'em, I hate em...In all the advancements made in japanese cartoons,(big eyes, which was originally inspired by the Betty Boop series), they seem to be unable to pull themselves away from it...
Well, While American cartoons greatly affected the design of future japanese cartoons, different companies and animation house flourishings in different parts america has allowed for chances to be taken in different styles....Something that is not evident in japanese cartoons..More or less it wasn't profitable to make cartoons that were too away from mainstream, for fear it would fail financially....

Personally in this day and age I feel it's a copout..

Another pet peeve is the Lip Syncing... absolutely horrible.."Flap"Flap"flap" The mouth positions usually consists of only two mouth animations..open,..and Closed....Theories have come from this...One is that the Japanese language is so complex that animating the phonetics is close to impossible...Another theory is that this was a pre-determined decision to keep the mouth movements simple, since Translations would be in order when it was imported to China,Europe, and the States...

Once Again, in this day and age, it is totally unacceptable....

And While the Plotlines and Story factor can get complex, there also times when it can bog down the whole animation altogether (*Yawn*Ghoststory anyone).

Now I have seen many animes with incredible, intense and fluid animation Scenes, that are simply a sight to behold....But then,Usually the animation between a dialogue of two characters in the "Same" movie can be so non-exsistent that the scene almost looks like a stillframe....This is usually because the resources used to make the "Action" take up most of the animations company's manpower....

So to make a Story short, While the Japanese find what makes Anime, "Anime" acceptable form of cartooning, it is in no way represents the best of what animation has to offer...

In sports nutrition we consider it conditionally essential because we make the distinction between minimal and optimal levels of certain substances. Taurine's importance is highlighted by the fact that it's the second most abundant amino acid in the muscle amino acid pool after glutamine. Also, all kinds of stress (especially exercise) deplete taurine and the body may not be able to keep up production, hence the conditionally essential categorization and the need for supplementation.

Times have changed! Are kids are getting worse! They won't obey their parents! They just want to fart and curse! Should we blame the government? Or blame society? Or should we blame the images on TV? NO! Blame Canada! Blame Canada! With all their beady little eyes, and flapping heads so full of lies! Blame Canada! Blame Canada! We need to form a full assault! It's Canada's fault!

Don't blame me, for my son Stan, he saw the darn cartoon, and now he's off to join the clan!

And my boy Eric once had my picture on his shelf, but now when I see him he tells me to f**k myself!

Well, blame Canada! Blame Canada! It seems that everythings gone wrong since Canada came along! Blame Canada! Blame Canada! There not even a real country anyway.

My son could've been a doctor or a lawyer, it's true, instead he burned up like a piggy on a barbecue.

Should we blame the matches? Should we blame the fire? Or the doctors who alloewd him to expire?

Heck No!

"A word to the Wise"

It is very apparent that the "Penny" Bitch is talking completely out of here ass.Without any substantial proof...But I must reitarate (sp)...Don't go in there blowing your top!!! Think about what she said, present your case, and then back up your case with fact and/or links..and make sure you have the proper spelling :p...The truth is..if you go in there full cocked, and talking half-assed..The penny will point to you and say "See?, I just proved my point!"....take you time and make your shoutouts clear, and memorable..

I don't know, but they had movies like Song of the South feature Uncle Remus. It's not available in this country anymore. I think Disney didn't keep the rights to it. It was this black guy singing "Zippy do da! Mr. blue bird on my shoulder!" and so on. Then there was the Tar Baby cartoon. They have taken some of their earlier stuff off the market, because I guess it isn't politically correct today.

Wade hit it right on the nose here....Having to take two years of animation history,I have to admit that a lot sunk in on the subject....I also have had the chance to view some really rare cartoons, By Disney,Warner bro's, and Hanna-Barbara....And While these cartoons were made in reflection to the times...They are, by todays Standards totally unethical, and completely politically incorrect....I have a Bug-Bunny cartoon where he comes against a little country Black boy,who was completely Stereotyped, complete with the slang speech, and lightly colored lips....But My favorate has to be an episode of Tom&Jerry, Where Jerry was trying to keep Tom from Starting a fight with the maid of the house, Who happened to be designed like "aunt Jemima" (sp) Complete with the Slang speech, and Do-rag...And WHY was Tom so Brave, you ask?!?! Well because was totally pissed Drunk!!!! Another cartoon no-no you're likely never to see again

It means a great deal to me.

you are helping to get my music out there to reach a broader audience!!! Lavender Hill Mob is important to me, however ZEITMAHL is my baby!!!!

Every day (or every new IP address you use) when you click to download, hifi, or lofi play the song helps to get ZEITMAHL's A FOREST song further up the chart listings and the higher it gets, the more people take notice!!! The more people notice, the more flexibility I will have to continue getting other work which ultimately will keep me in a position where I can comfortably create music on a regular basis for you.

The songs originate from within so that I can deal with issues or discuss topics, but the songs go from me and morph into songs for you!!!

Does that make sense? I hope you understand. Once again thanx so much for helping out yer Uncle Shok and don't forget that even if you have the song downloaded already from mp3.com or napster, it will help me if you could take a few moments and hit http://www.mp3.com/zeitmahl and ping A FOREST for me once a day.

much love!

'Forest' Is a very powerful, nostalgic and moody piece..That I think represent a lot of aspects in my life..This song will carry on with me and Alot of people here.....congratulations...You have discovered immortality.......
