the six shot idea definitely works for me, should makes things hairy towards the end of the level.

Just keep chuggin out ideas guys. I had to set aside the design for a min so I can finish up this minigame Im doing, but after that its back to this, so keep em comin.

Oohh shot down. Which brings me to the question I was going to ask.. what happens when your ship/character is shot down?

there would be a crash animation . and the game deducts a life, and you start with a new player from the last spot you died etc.. yknow. like a regular game

So just keep posting, we arent worried about the fidelity of the art right now.. we just want ideas.

anyways heres my first stab at the player sprite. ist loosely based off of divinci's wings, with a steam powered rocket.

some differences is I would like the wings to flap., and I would like slightly different variations of movement for each arrow. so if you hold back the there will be a sprite of the tilted back with maybe a faster loop flap . and have the head tilt up for accend and glide for down.

Thanks, and the project looks superb so far, the ambition is outstanding and it looks like its really coming together.

it probably would get messy if you posted them in the actual shmup threads, but unless BMK or BOM Objects I dont see any problems posting your ideas for a certain level here in the main thread.

thats great. I like the front plating idea, it would also be great if bombs do come into play, we could make it an easy kill feature for added points and such, that way not all enemies are killed the same way . Strategy in a shooter goes along way to keep things interesting.

Also Some simple collab rules apply here as well.

make sure not to name your MCs something generic, like enemy or player.

use unique names or make up something that works for you STEAMP_player, STEAMP_enemy1, etc.
