If you stop by Comic-Con, POST YOUR PICTURES in this thread! Also, if you take pictures at our booth, email me larger versions of the pics! I want to collect as many pics as possible from everyone who comes by and takes pictures!

Sorry I'm slow on posting (stupid law school wasting my time, lol), but here's a pic of Dan, Tom and myself at Comic Con 2006. I have a few more pix of the booth; I'll post or email those later. Great seeing all of you again!

I just started law school, and classes are keeping me busy, but there's no way I'd miss Comic Con! My inner nerd just can't resist. I'm planning on swinging by on either Friday or Saturday (maybe both, heeheehee). I'll make sure to drop by and say hi again this year. Congrats on all the success, guys, and keep up the good work! i haven't yet watched the flash piece, but it still shocks me that people are so reviled by it... regardless of how extreme it is, it's only a cartoon. there are much worse things happening in the real world right now than some cartoon; i guarantee it. people all over the world are starving or dying of disease... yet there are people who choose to get all worked up over a cartoon. i think there are worse things than this cartoon out there. if we're going to sit around and be complacent about the suffering and pain that exist in this world, i don't think we should be passing judgment on others, especially not a cartoonist who gets us to think about serious social issues. besides, from what i understand, the only one allowed to judge a man is god. so i would encourage those of you who are so readily condemning others to think a bit before you react. there's no need to live your life through knee-jerk reactions; they don't help move along the dialogue. remember, freedom of speech also protects those that don't necessarily agree with you and even those that disagree with you.

that's really lame ass of lego... i would think that a company which made its name in selling toys for children would have a sense of humour and be more chill about things... apparently not. thanks, capitalism.

I think that after the re-lettering occurs and we're not stepping on anyone's whiny-ass toes, you should release the contact information of the lawyer who sent you that letter. He should receive a million calls, emails and faxes a day on how lame it is for the ESA to act like a typical corporate bitch and fret about its federal trademarks. I would think that people who work with video games all day are a lot cooler and more laidback than other companies, but I guess not. It's a damn shame that instead of allowing the letters to slide, they have to threaten legal action. It demonstrates to me that their primary interests are in making profits and a name for themself--and NOT the safety of children via delivery of information to parents. And that's pretty much bulllshit for a company that supposedly exists for the protection of young, impressionable minds.

silly tom! asking if anyone is attending the san diego comic-con is like asking if anyone is attending the superbowl; of course people are going!

i'm planning on going, but i don't know for sure because i haven't finalized my summer plans. i'll probably make it there on the weekend.

even if i can't make it, i am totally willing to get a newgrounds t-shirt. just lemme know how much!

lol. us NG users are getting so quick to pick up on your pranks now...

if mcdonald's actually started paying for advertisement on NG, i would be pretty surprised. i think they're trying to uphold a positive image, and i just know that running advertisements with NG would get them crap all over (sadly... damn people with no sense of humour).

even though i grew up with mickey d's... i think they're kind of evil. i mean... shit is just unhealthy; that should be the last stuff we export to other countries.

wow... it's unanimous: we're all going to hell. or more accurately, we're going to stay here and create hell for ourselves.

i blame a lot of it on old people... seriously, if you think about it, old people are the ones that have grown up in a certain kind of world and are shocked to see it change. so they have a vested interested in keeping things the same; they want to keep things familiar for themselves. of course, i don't meant to denigrate all old people, just the ones that can't accept change.

a reminder to all of you to support free speech and newgrounds.

also, get out there this november and vote in the presidential election !!! (for those of you in the USA). i'm voting for kerry to get bush out of office; serously, objectively speaking, bush seems like he's just F***ing everything up.

i don't have any programming abilities, but i still think the devkit would be a great idea. anything that make it easier to make games is a good thing because it should result in more good games (of course, more crappy games will also probably be made, but oh well).

i'm in up at UCLA right now, but spring break just started, so i am free for about a week. as a longtime fan of NG, i would definitely be interested in coming out to support your work with AH. since i live in san diego, that should be no problem for me. let us know the details asap!

Los Angeles has hooka bars too... kinda weird, if you ask me. Then again, not as weird as some things I have seen in this city. I dunno--maybe it's all a part of being trendy.

I have this vague notion that the hooka thing comes from a middle eastern country. Here, near UCLA, the places that have hooka are middle eastern-related cafés.

as far as the volunteering thing, i can't help much because i'm far away, but lemme know if you'd be interested in setting up something like that in Los Angeles. i'd be down to help with that, as i'm a big fan of community service.

while i agree that the gaslamp quarter is pretty darn safe (tons of people/witnesses/possible good samaritans, well lit, and cops aplenty), i can assure you that there are many parts of san diego that have REAL crime. i grew up in south county san diego (about 20 minutes south of downtown), and there are some pretty tough neighborhoods not too far from where i live.

wow... i can remember the days when newgrounds was still a fledgling project focused on a few features like telebubby fun land and club a seal. and now, just look at it! it's gigantic!

of course, this is no surprise. there's a reason i have been a follower of NG for so long--it's good stuff. i'm glad that so many people are getting so much out of NG now; just kind of a pain that i have to fight for bandwidth with all of them.

as far as Battle Royale... yeah, it's crazy. last i heard, the movie is still banned in japan. supposedly, there's a sequel that is supposed to come out. i'm keeping my eyes peeled for that one!

cheers!

Tom's got a really good point. If you want equality, then you should use your abilities to make things equal. For example, even if you don't know how to use flash, you could storm the BBS with requests or discussion of girl-oriented stuff or you could do more to promote the girly-type stuff (e.g. vote it up or promote the female artists or their work).
