Hey man whoa hey there's no need for the nerd talk just take it easy bro.
I'd be keen to do ambient/chillout stuff. Nothing else excites me anymore.

In name only, of course :P
Reason 4 has been great, but I definitely like the idea of being able to record directly into NN19 and NNXT now.
It was worth trying, and by all accounts it should've worked because I removed Fast LP from my own install and copied the version you uploaded to the plugins folder and it worked. I was using 10, though.
If Fast LP is an absolute MUST-have, back up anything you have saved in the FL Studio folders and reinstall FL 9. I'm sure you can find a mirror for the 9.5-9.9 betas, if not then I can send you the install for 9.1 (the last "stable" version before 10).

very nice!
Does that happen when the plugin is in \Program Files\Vstplugins as well? Really weird!

so i'm trying to make up a good chord progression for myself,right? so i try,and this is what i have so far;
C,Em,Edim,F,??,??,??,??
if you notice, the bass note of each chord slowly descends(in second reversals,at least). the thing is,i don't know where to go from F >< i was thinking logically about Fm,but that only flats the III,which is Ab in this case. so my question is; where do i go from F?
I just tried C,Em,Edim,A7,F,G,C and then E to start the next progression on the Am. but you could also use C7 to move into a new progression starting on F. This is assuming you're working in the main key of C major.
The progression I've got there is fun but maybe too cliche? Depends how you play it.

This. But bear in mind that Final Fantasy VI->X had their own soundfonts in addition to GM instruments though, and you can get those soundfonts online if you do a quick google search for them.
Immersion feels like one dude tryin to do too much at once. In Silico felt more coherant and they found a really good balance of DNB and straight up cock rock with that album.
OH and just to be sure, in that picture I link the "Fast scan (recommended)" option is selected, not the other one. Royale Noir is a funny XP theme sometimes!
So did you put Fruity Fast LP in the folder FL Studio 9\Plugins\VST\? Also, after you do this you might need to refresh the plugin list again, like so.
If that doesn't work, you should try copying to Program Files\Vstplugins\ and then refreshing again.
If you're writing scores for orchestral or classical works then there's no need for you to switch from Finale. But if you want to make silly techno music then FL is a good choice, but other programs like Reason, Orion and Live are also pretty fantastic. There's also Logic Pro for mac users.
You sound like you're having difficulty grasping the fundamental workflow of FL, you should probably trawl through the help files and very basic how-to videos on youtube.
He could, or someone could just send him the .dll file and you can put it back in the VST folder. If I had a missing Fast LP on an unfinished project where I'd automated the cutoff and resonance a lot, or if I'd used lots of different instances of the plugin, I'd sure as hell rather not replace them all with other plugins.
Have you tried refreshing the list of VST plugins, though? And do you have any previous installs that you could copy the file over from?
AFAIK the "hoover" sound was just a preset on the Alpha Juno. How many thousand people have ever used the amen break in their jungle/breakbeat tracks? How many thousand more have ever used a TR-909 open hat in their trance songs?
I think the difference between presets of today and the presets of years gone by is that they were given time to ferment and gain nostalgic value. They originate from a time when they were deemed mostly useless (i.e. the 1980s) and got their big break later on when people needed something that people had previously neglected to make original music. It wouldn't surprise me if, in about 10 years time, a bunch of the sillier FL presets became very popular amongst producers of the future.
The love heart button next to the artist's avatar adds them to your favourite artists.
The "Add song to favourites" button under the genre and file info does exactly what it says :)

Aww damn dude now I'm properly hungry.
I dunno, I have 171 people who have me as a favourite artist and I'm pretty sure most of them are from that Miami Shark song.
Tom Fulp seemed to like a few of my songs, though. +1 ego!
Sorry, where I said "Share Alike" before I meant "Share Music". AFAIK Share Alike allows derivative works such as mashups as long as they're also released under the exact same license and credit is given to the original author.

Hmm... From my own understanding of Creative Commons, I think AP mashups should be allowed and see this as a bit of an unwritten law. But iirc any rules officially put forward by Newgrounds override CC, so if this an actual rule somewhere in the TOS then don't do it.
And if mods will ban you for it then don't do it either :P
Unless you're recovering your own media, then no.

I'm in two minds about this. Because yeah, a lot of these guys are probably really shit. But at the same time a lot of clubs, around here at least, won't let DJs play anything else on most nights cause they're paranoid that people won't turn up.
i would rather pay for a plugin than have to reconfigure the settings every time i load a project.
85-92 was the first aphex twin album i ever got and it's still one of my favourites ever.
The vinyl version of SAWvol2 has "Stone in Focus" as an exculsive. It also happens to be the best song on the entire release. URGH.
if western notation has failed to preserve music then why are pieces written nearly 400 years ago still played in orchestras?
Unfortunately, no notation system will ever get around the fact that 99.99% of everything will eventually fade into obscurity.

Kind of a moot point, considering that each piano will sound unique, and depending on how you record/sample it the same piano can sound very different.
Don't placer hardcore in the master fx channel. Link the instrument you want to filter to it's own FX channel (number drag/drop box in the top right corner of channel settings), and put hardcore in that FX channel.
