hey guis da thread shoulda ended loool
I don't understand why it's such a bad thing, if you don't like it then just don't use it.
It's no more/less contrived than writing the same riff yourself and then "sprinkling" stuff on it to make a song, anyway. There's a song of mine on the AP which has the same four notes repeated for nearly 8 whole minutes, which I could've very well done using riff machine. The point is, I put more effort into just the timbral and dynamic variation than some people do in an entire song, so the means I used to get four notes into a pattern is entirely irrelevant.
I also automated the arpeggiator section to make it sound like there were more than 4 different notes that were sequenced, but it's just one pattern the whole time/
Effectrix is also great, it's like dblue on steroids! Pretty pricey, though I won a copy so the price didn't bother me.

You still have the right to do whatever you want with the song, since Newgrounds has the Creative Commons (CC) method with the music posted here.
CC is more of an end-user license, but yeah posting the AP doesn't relinquish your copyright ownership and I'm sure that a NG compilation (for charity, no less) would operate in the same way.
Did I mention that I'm down for chill? Maybe upbeat too. Either/or!
Yeah that Audix is a dynamic instrument microphone, so it would be great for beatboxing and other uses where you drive it rather loudly. The EMU preamp/interface should be fine as long as it can supply phantom power to a condenser mic.
Good vocal quality starts with the microphone and the room. Ideally you would want a large-diaphragm condenser microphone that suits your voice and a room that's been acoustically treated BUT you can afford to settle with a room that's either dead as possible (so just hang blankets up all over your recording space) or a room with nice acoustics (good luck finding one in your house!).
As far as singing lessons go, it'd be a great investment if you're already competent at pitching properly but want to do it properly and sound nicer. An actual teacher is way better than a youtube video. But hey, here's some youtube videos for now :)
Ideally they shouldn't be making any intelligible dialogue, but I can handle a short exchange or two.
Anywho, just drew a rather musical dick for today. Good times!
Great question! Exclusivity definitely needs to be discussed.

Yeah I was willing to wait at least a couple days before throwing in the towel.
I can't stand watching porn where there is constant talking in English. Any language I can't understand is fine though.
What happened to the results and stuff for the time sig contest? WHAT IS THE DEAL?!

I hope you're not seriously suggesting that it's okay for people writing hip hop tunes to use "bad language" but not others. because that's kinda bullshit.
You could probably do better than DP. 2 in the mouth, two in the shitter.
I regret every relationship I've ever had except the current one. Alhough I'd also regret being a virgin until I was 21.
le sigh
I don't think we need another thread full of people just posting links to tracks though. They can make a post like Echo's just above saying that they're interested and which album they'd like to contribute to, then whoever is judging can have a look at one or two of their relevant songs.
Or something.
finally finished a month of dicks
feels good man!
Does anybody else care, though?

it's 12 minutes long, you can take any parts of it that you like best and edit them together.
And even if you have the permission of the copyright holders, the TOS that you agree to when uploading a track dictate that you can't upload something that you didn't make, regardless of the situation.
It's just got a really nice, versatile, way of sequencing and mixing stuff and a lot of quite good built-in plugins and effects. You can also use it as a ReWire host or client, which is nifty!
I've been using it for nine years but I dunno about all the rave reviews. I just love the workflow, personally.

I thought that the widget plays at 128kbit anyway?
I've only listened to one song of his, but it sounds like his "dirty" amen sound is made by way of hp filter > exciter > heavy compressor.
Heaps of breakcore dudes use renoise, it seems!
There's a free VSTi called "Synth1" which is modeled off of the Clavia Nord Lead 2, it can do really nice rich trancey leads and chords.

Don't even get me started about my step faher. He has never once said anything nice to me and constantly offends me by claiming everything I do is wrong and offends the people around me in some strange way. Oh, and he apparently thinks im a moron and will never make it in life.
This was pretty much what my gf's mum was like to me until I took her daughter out to a fancy restaurant. The nominal cost of her trust and admiration is apparently $150!
Well yeah, there shouldn't be too many problems either way, but you never know!

qft!
OP, maybe they actually think your song is worth a 0? A lot of people have very harsh, binary views on music. Even if they're just being a dick, competitive 0 bombing is just something that happens and the best solution is to not care about the score.

To be clearer, just in case people don't read my walls of text, I will most likely request everyone submit it as a FLAC, AIF, or other uncompressed format. I will also request people post their tracks up on soundcloud for private view only. If they don't end up getting their music into the album, then they can submit their track to Newgrounds.
Sorry to be extremely helpful and not at all pedantic, but the FLAC format is compressed. It's lossless too, though, so there's really no reason for me to point that out. Derp.
Personally, I think it'd be easier in the long run to have everyone use a single samplerate, bit depth and format to save any future conversion hassles. But it doesn't really affect me either way.
pfft what kind of nerd uses the thread search
