How did I figure out that what I wrote was exactly what he meant? By not being ignorant of current musical trends and just generally being clever.
I(s) shoegaze(-)esque (guitar or multi-tap delay) feedback (like the sort used in the genre of music called "shoegaze") still cool (to use in my own songs)?
Yes

No compliments.. just.. complaints.

it looks like 2001. awful.
at least you can read the text now (sort of)

Uhh, how expensive can any 6 channel mixer be?

And an entire site without sufficient categorization options; although it was great that they added dubstep as it's own genre. Good stuff!

Got an old ass electric chord organ from my friend's aunt today. Pretty sweet.

You're going to have to be more specific about what "glitchy" sounds like, and which plugins/effects you're using. Make sure your settings on render are exactly what you want, too (I'm thinking "Disable Max Polyphony", specifically).
Me neither! Glad you got it working :)

If I listen to a song and I can tell it will be shitty after 10 seconds, I will probably vote 0 or 1. Just saying.
Does the mic need a power supply or phantom power? If it's a condenser mic it probably does, so make sure you've got it turned on/plugged in.

Might be obvious, but are you sure that ASIO4All has the microphone as the selected input device? It should appear as it's own sound device in both ASIO4all and in FL's audio settings.
(if it doesn't then i'm at a loss as to how you're even supposed to use the mic at all, unless it acts as the input for your AC97)

in about an hours time i'm heading to my gf's to eat a big ass pork roll with her parents and her demented, bipolar grandmother. fuckin' A!
The express package is basically fruityloops 2.7 with VST support and a basic mixer, lol. No piano roll, no fancy mixer, no audio recording. You get what you pay for, but people used to make amazing music with 2.7. It's kind of like a sideways tracker, actually :P
The fruityloops edition is more like fruityloops 3.5 and lets you use the piano roll and more of the features of FL; for half the price of the producer edition it's not bad value if you're just writing music and not worried about getting into the very nitty gritty of sound design and recording. And like 2.7 people could still make amazing music just with 3.5.
You can always upgrade to a more powerful version at a later date, and you don't pay full price for upgrades between versions (just the discrepancy + a little bit, I think).
oh hey, what's up general forum?
It's pretty obvious that he went down to the crossroads and sold his soul to the devil.
WOW, I completely misread the question and told you to do the exact opposite of what you want to do.
Pretty sure only 1 sound/generator channel can be shown at a time anyway. If you desperately need to look at two different VST instruments at once you can run them in any mixer track and link them to a MIDI OUT generator on the step sequencer. Can't do this with fruity-native plugins though (e.g 3xOsc, DX10)
Someone tell me I'm wrong cause that seems like a really wacky design quirk.

granted it's legitimate if you actually have that much outboard gear to use, but not everyone is as rich and ugly as you ;)

Not even karaoke versions on youtube? It's not like it's an obscure song.

Like chron said, DeviantArt. Which you said. I thought that was kinda obvious.
1. A "like" button is so generic and kindergarten. New Grounds is better than that, and way too unique to just put up a "like" button and think its solving problems. This isn't a way of fixing the problem, this is a way of conceding to the 0-bombers.
Of course! Only generic kindergarteners use facebook or youtube. Very relevant point.
It's not not a way of conceding to 0-bombers, ANY form of change is saying "hey 0-bombers, up yours". It's a way of completely and utterly removing any kind of power they had over the weekly charts and top 30. Which is what everyone is annoyed with 0-bombing about, right?
2. Giving the AP a "like" button diminishes the Audio Portal's importance behind the Flash Portal's once again. As if we need more of that.. I mean, it just shows that NG doesn't care and is too lazy to try to fix anything about the rating system. Cause after all, who cares about the AP, right?
Yeah, a different voting system sure smacks of not caring. "Hey audio portal, we went out of our way to completely revamp your voting system because you asked us to change it. We did this because we don't care about you."
3. The only reason I look at 5 flash submission every day, is to raise my voting power. That throws me, an Audio-strong user who would probably only look at the #1 Flashes every once in awhile if there were no voting system. With this "like" button deal, you're telling me the very reason I've been voting on Flash so much more than I usually would, all the time I put into the site watching so many flashes to gain more voting power and vote on it. All of that, now means nothing?
Yes, that's what I'm telling you. Why should the way you've voted in the flash portal affect your audio portal votes, anyway? Although:
I better count for like 4.27 likes is all I know.
Good thinking, actually.
I'm gonna be honest, I really don't care what happens to the audio portal voting as long as I'm not confined to five 0's or 5's a day or forced to review or something stupid like that. Besides, restrictions in a system can be worked around, but intrinsic limitations cannot.
If you have the instrumental version as well and you run it at exactly same time and volume as the vocal version with the polarity reversed then you should end up with just the vocals and a bit of background noise (in the form of a soft, warble-y sounding instrumental).
hey cool it's that guy who only posts to argue semantics, what's up guy?
There's a reason there's no scoring on YT anymore; Scores = drama, and the only tweaks to the scoring that people have suggested are draconian restrictions and big brother monitoring.

Okay, but currently your reasoning for that statement is "OMG NG WILL TURN INTO DEVART" and that people might actually have to put effort into building a fan base to get noticed (fancy that!)
Got any good reasons why it sucks?

If you make 0-bombing completely useless by making scores useless in general and superseding them with a "like" button then this isn't going to be an issue.
Or maybe have a dislike button too but have it only for XP purposes and not have any credence on charting.
